Work Text:
Pain bloomed in their chest as the knife met their skin. They stumbled back, clutching onto the wound as their attacker pulled the knife back out. Blood bubbled in their throat as they hacked it up, the wound having pierced their lungs.
“You… You…!” They sputtered out, falling to their knees as they kept coughing. Their attacker looked down on them, twirling the knife in their hand. They smiled down on their victim, not a hint of anything but glee in their eyes.
“I… Knew it!” They choked out before trying to gasp for breath, the blood filling their lungs starting to drown them from the inside out.
“Too late.” Was the attacker’s simple response.
They watched as their victim writhed on the ground, clawing at their throat to try and get air in their filled lungs. Their attacker knelt down to them and slowly, gently took the victim’s head in their hands. They just smiled as their slowly dying victim gave them the most withering glare they could while still gasping for air. The attacker gave the victim one last condescending pat on the head, before snapping their neck.
The light immediately faded from their eyes as their struggling body went limp. The attacker dropped the body and stepped back, before plunging the knife in their shoulder and slamming themselves against the wall.
They knew exactly who to frame for this.
Then, they let out the loudest scream they could, attracting the attention of those in nearby areas.
It worked perfectly.
The people came running and their screams and gasps were like music to the attacker’s ears. “Oh my god! You’re alive!” Someone kneeled next to the attacker’s hunched form, “Who did this to you?! Who did this to them?!”
A pause before the attacker answered.
“R-Red did it... Red sus.”
