Midoriya Izuku is determined. It always has been, always will be. Izuku has to be determined if he wants to follow his dreams. Even after developing a seemingly weak quirk, he used his analytical skills to work around this immovable stump in the road.
Izuku, like many others, is obsessed with heroes. Ever since watching the video of All Might's debut, he has wanted to be a hero just like him. Izuku wanted to save people with a smile just like All Might. His mom (Inko) tried to support him but was terrified. It is a dangerous career path, after all. Yet Midoriya Izuku stays determined on his way to becoming a hero.
Izuku had finally received his long-awaited quirk. However, it happened to occur in the strangest of circumstances. Izuku had been playing with his childhood friend, Bakugou Katsuki, in their neighborhood park. Although they hadn't been friends for very long, in that time, Bakugou had already received a couple of nicknames from his peers. One of these names happened to be "Kacchan," which Bakugou had a particular disdain for. Kacchan had been showing off his quirk, and Izuku was in a state of amazement. He was in such awe he didn't realize that the sparks had started floating towards his hands. Kacchan, however, did notice and stared at Izuku in utter shock. Once Izuku noticed he got his quirk, his smile was bright enough to blind someone. They immediately ran over to Inko to tell her the great news.
Inko had booked an appointment for a quirk evaluation as soon as she could. Izuku was just short of bouncing off the walls in excitement. When the inevitable day came, and they walked into the doctor's office, Izuku was ready to hear all about his quirk. The doctor asked Izuku some questions about his quirk and a brief demonstration of his power. These inquiries were all to evaluate precisely just what kind of quirk the young boy possessed. Eventually, the doctor soon concluded that Izuku's abilities were a unique blend of both his parent's quirks. For example, when Izuku is near any fire, he can manipulate the flames to his will. The last question the doctor had was what Izuku wanted to name it.
"Ignikinesis!" Izuku shouted with great enthusiasm.
A few days pass, and Izuku meets up with Kacchan again. Both of them wanted to test out Izuku's new power. Izuku explained how to trigger the quirk so they both could practice. This practice lasts for a couple of hours and consists of Kacchan lighting up his hands, Izuku making the sparks into fire, and moving the flames elsewhere. It almost looked like the flames danced around him.
They eventually headed for dinner and told Inko about everything they discovered about their quirks. Inko, of course, smiled and congratulated them. The boys continued bantering throughout dinner time. Eventually, Kacchan had to go home, and they said their goodbyes.
Life was so simple in those days…
