A sound
and then
silence
"What...time is it?" He mutters, rubbing his eyes "Where am I?" He asks himself. When he looked to his left, the sun was peeking from out the window and embracing him with its rich light that never helped with the constant feeling of being cold.
'It's the 17th!' His mind echoes
"Oh" he says as he finds himself in realization, getting up from where he is and making his way down white stairs.
He starts by walking fast,
'Do you think he'll like it?'
faster,
'That's genius, we're adding that!"
and faster
'Do you think he forgot?'
Eventually he runs.
He stops, closing his eyes in front of the large oak tree, the swing swaying faintly. He doesn't like remembering it, imagining it. A perfect world where none of the bad things happen, where nothing's wrong.
'Okay, I think that's everything'
He regrets thinking of it
'I'm gonna get him'
If he thought hard enough
'You wait here, okay?'
Then maybe
"Okay"
It'll be just like this if he never left, that it was like this for everyone
He opens his eyes and saw a lush kingdom filled with the biggest and tallest mushrooms he has ever seen. It must be a dream, he thinks, It couldn't have been-
The peaceful ambience of it all, the nonexistent conflicts, and the absence of wars just- it all feels so...right
"Karl!" someone calls "Let's go, Quackity's waiting for us! C'mon!" that someone took his hand into their own. It felt warm, like fire raging through his skin and painting it scarlet "Keep up!".
He looked up and saw a face, a smile, and he was gone. The man vanished.
He looked at his hands and found them shaking, as the world around him shook and shattered. He felt the ground split, and for a moment he thought he was floating.
'Where did you go?'
He would hear them ask
'Don't you remember?'
It hurts when they ask
It always did
He thought that maybe
'Karl?'
It would've been better
'Q, I can't find him anywhere!'
If they didn't remember him
'Carlos?!'
No,
'Where are you?!'
better yet
'Karl?!'
If he just forgets
He opens his eyes with a gasp, feeling nothing but the emptiness around him. A moment's thought told him 'Remember them' and he didn't listen, so it then said 'Don't forget yourself' and like history he repeats the same mistake.
