Work Text:

Bond sat in the chair beside your hospital bed, analyzing every machine, tracing every wire, the silence was only broken by the incessant beeping from the heart monitor, the EEG machine which showed you were in a deep sleep, and the sound from oxygen mask that had been placed solely as a precautionary measure.

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t stop replaying that fatal moment you got injured over and over again. Despite the outcome, Bond couldn’t stop thinking if only he had been faster, if only he had been the first one to the target, none of this would have happened.  It wouldn’t be you lying in the bed, it could have been him, or no one at all.

Bond had taken care of the first guard easily enough, you were hot on his heels, the both of you on your way to take care of the target, when the second guard appeared out of nowhere, by the time Bond had subdued the second guard, he realized you had slipped past him and now he was left to play catch up.  He pushed himself as much as his body allowed him too, and when he had reached the roof, he had arrived just in time to see you fall over the edge with the target in your arms.

At that moment, when he saw you go over his world ended, he couldn’t believe what his eyes were seeing.  Everything slowed, to Bond it felt as though time stopped, the world stopped, it felt as though even his heart had stopped. He knew he had to do something he couldn’t just stand there forever, first he needed to see if you were okay or if you had met the same fate as the target. It took all his strength to walk to the edge of the building. He took a deep breath, before peering over the edge, he stilled his nerves preparing himself for what he may have to encounter.

As he looked down to see the once dark brown abandoned street now covered in red, the only sight he allowed his eyes to take in was the dead target that lay in the epicentre of all that red.  He closed his eyes for a second, before he tried searching for you, he thought for sure he was going to see your broken body lying not far from the target, but when he forced his eyes open, you were no where to be seen on the street below. He leaned over the edge a little more, and that’s when he noticed you had landed on an overhang a few feet below.  He called your name several times, but regardless of his volume, you didn’t stir. Bond was freaking out inside, he couldn’t tell if you were breathing, if you had any internal injuries, dread filled his body as he tried to calculate his route to you.  The closer he got, the colder his body felt, regardless of the nearly 30 plus temperature, when he finally made it down to you, he still couldn’t tell if you were breathing.  He blamed the sweat dripping into his eyes, as to the cause of them tearing up.

After finding the safest route to you, he finally managed to be close enough to feel for your pulse, his heart plummeted when he felt it wasn’t strong, but it was there. He just needed to get you out of there as quickly as he could, to find medical aid. When the cavalry finally arrived, carding you off to the nearest hospital, he had offered a small prayer to whoever was listening, in truth, he really didn’t think you were gonna make it.

Now, here he was in a private London hospital, his leg was bouncing up and down, waiting for your doctor to come in; he heard someone mention something about a coma, but no one had really filled him in.

When he entered the hospital room, and saw you lying there with your arm in a cast, your face swollen, a black eye, a split lip, it nearly broke him.  After all, this had been the first time he got to see you since getting you back to London. Mallory had wanted a full debrief as to what exactly happened, why the target was dead before they gave up the information needed. Bond offered what he could, but truthfully he didn’t know what happened on the roof, and all he could think about was the fear in your eyes when his eyes locked on yours before you went over the edge.

“Mr. Bond, good news is that your … actually what is your relationship to the patient?”

“Oh … umm…” James looked at your fragile frame, he wished you would wake up, that all the IVs, wires and tubes weren’t connected, that you’d wake up and give him that ridiculous smile, “she’s my fiancé.”  As though he'd ever have a chance in hell, he tried to stifle the laugh when he remembered the night you said those exact words to him, it had been an assignment from two years ago, when you both went undercover as husband and wife.

“Well, Mr. Bond, your fiancé is healing, no broken bones or internal bleeding, we put her arm in a cast as a precaution, her ligaments are very bruised, and the less she moves her arm, the better the outcome.  Frankly, the fact she survived at all, is a miracle.  She is in a coma, her brain activity is good, so we’re hopeful she’ll wake up soon.  Studies have shown coma patients tend to come out sooner, with help from loved ones talking to them. Therefore, feel free to talk to her as much as possible, while you are visiting her.”

Bond nodded along to the doctor’s advice, but his eyes never left your form, “What about spinal injuries or nerve damage?”

“Her spine is good, just slight bruising, which is coming down. With regard to nerve damage, we won’t know if there is any or the full extent of her damage until she wakes up; however keep a positive thought. It might be one more miracle she pulls off.”

“Thank you, Doctor”

“I’ll make sure the nurses brings you a pillow and blanket, I’m sure you’ll want to stay with her”

“Thank you, I appreciate it.”

“I’d do the same for my spouse.  I’ll give you two some time alone.”

Bond sat there, all he wanted to do was talk to you, to tell you everything he had been holding back, but the more he saw you lying there, the more his feet wanted to take him any place but here.  However, somehow against his better judgment, his feet took him over to your bed.

Why was he sitting on your bed? Why was his hand reaching up to caress your face? Why did he need to hold your hand?

“So apparently, I’m supposed to talk to you.  Somehow, this feels super weird, knowing you won’t give me a snarky remark or comment and yet right,” a smirk appeared on his lips, “since you can’t interrupt me, I can say just about anything really.  For example, what the hell were you thinking? It’s my job to protect you,” his tone was coming out bitter and hurt, he tried to quell his anger, but it wouldn’t budge, “you’re the junior agent, I’m the senior one.”  He let out a deep breath, “I’m the one to take down the target, to take the risks, did you forget that? Of course not, but you just had to be the first one through the door, didn’t you?  When are you going to learn, you're not as invincible as you think you are? You still have your whole life ahead of you, don’t you want that?”

Bond’s hand trailed down your good arm, there were some bruises and cuts that needed stitches, but at least you hadn’t broken anything.  He couldn’t stop himself, as his hand reached out and held yours.

“When I saw you go over …” Bond cleared his throat, “I’m not done training you yet. You can’t … you can’t go before I do. I won’t allow it. You have to make it.” Bond stood from his seat beside you, it was weird not to have a response back to his critique. As he walked over to the large window in your room, he wondered if this was even working. He took a moment to still the nerves within him, he had to keep reminding himself you were alive, you were here with him in this room, maybe not awake, but here. His eyes took in the view before him. Watching the city, he couldn’t hide the smile on his face, when he remembered how much you’ve always loved London City, how you often reminded yourself of the bigger picture, when the two of you would view the city from M’s old office window. He stood there watching the bustling city before him, people living their lives, none of them truly understanding the sacrifice you almost made for them; but then that’s probably why you did it.

“I don’t know what I’m supposed to say here,” he turned to look at you, he wished you would open your eyes, “I guess what I really need to say is, I’m sorry. I’m sorry, I failed you, that I wasn’t quick enough. You should never have had to face the target on your own. I hope you can forgive me, for failing you. Hmmm, if you were awake right now, you would probably be over analyzing every aspect of the mission, wouldn’t you? How you ended up here in the hospital.  Seeing where things went wrong, and what you would’ve done differently.”

------------------------------------------------------------

It feel like my heart was going to give up, however, the adrenaline coursing through my veins was giving me the boost I needed, I pushed my body as James had taught me all those years ago.

James was in front of me, as we headed for the roof, the target had some sort of extraction point this way, probably a helicopter, they always had some sort of aircraft waiting for them. We were two landings from the roof when the door swung open to the floor, James pushed me back, as he took on the second guard. I heard rushed footsteps reaching higher up, I knew they were close to their exit, I couldn’t let them get away. I didn't waste time and jumped over the railing, passing James and the guard. I heard him call my name, but I just kept running, I couldn't slow down. I knew I could catch the target. I was almost at the roof landing, when I heard the door to the roof slam shut. I doubled my efforts and pushed my way through with all my might, as soon as I stepped out onto the roof, the sunlight blinded me for a moment. Before I could take another step, I saw the target standing in front of me, their finger hovering over a button on the cylinder in their hand.

“Well, if it isn’t Bluebird, that is your code name, isn’t it?”

“You think you’ve won 008?”

“I think, I’m a fairly brilliant agent, and I’m not about to let a mass murdering psychopath escape”

“Ah but this mass murdering psychopath has information that your agency needs”

“Well, tell me the information, and maybe I’ll consider letting you go” I walked counterclockwise to the target. If I could get their back facing the door, James could subdue them when he came up.

“You think I’d fall for that, like MI6 would even consider letting me go, after the atrocities I’ve committed”

“Why not? If it’s to their benefit” I finally had gotten their back to face the door, except they took a step closer to me. Forcing me closer to the edge with each step. No. No. “Why don’t you hand me the detonator, show me you’re willing to take a step in the right direction, it will make a huge impact with MI6”

“You must think I’m idiot”

I wiggled my head from side to side, “Maybe not a complete idiot, but definitely somewhere on the scale of idiocy”

Just then the door flung open, James stood there like a knight with his gun drawn, Bluebird became distracted at the sound of the door bursting open, turning to see who joined us on the roof.  It wasn’t what I wanted, but it was an opportunity that presented itself, I had to save James, save whoever was at the end of that detonator.  I used the moment before me, I closed the distance between us and grabbed the detonator, in our struggle Bluebird ended up dropping the cylinder, I kicked it over to James.  At least he was safe, that’s all that matter, and that’s when the target got the upper hand, I had been distracted for a mere second, and that’s all the target needed, as they pushed against me, pushing me even closer to the edge. I looked at James one last time, there were so many things I wish I had said, as we locked eyes I tried to convey all the feelings I had felt for him, there was no going back, I was going to die and he never knew how I felt. Before I could say it, the ground was gone and we were falling, I closed my eyes thinking of James. I love you.

------------------------------------------------------------

“You know, I asked M if I could train you.  I don’t think I ever told you that'' Bond looked at you with his back pressed against the window, “I had Moneypenny give me the dossier on you, when you first joined the agency.  All every heard about was about this amazing new junior agent who was hoping to make double O. I thought for sure everyone was exaggerating, but then that first day we sparred and you almost … almost mind you, so keep your ego in check. You almost had me on my ass. Of course, being the better sparrer I won. I know, I know, you’ll probably tell me again that I cheated. But don’t forget, darlin’ there’s no such thing as fair play in the real world.” Bond swallowed the bubble that rose in his throat, “Well, I mean look at you now, how is this fair?”

Bond walked over to your casted arm, your fingers peeking out at the end, his hand reached forward as his finger began to slowly trace the outline of your fingers, your nails, every knuckle, every cut or scar. “I don’t know if you remember the first day we met, I do…”

------------------------------------------------------------

“You must be the new agent, name's Bond, James Bond.”

“It’s nice to meet you, I’ve heard a lot about you 007” the rumours weren’t lying when they said James was handsome, as one analyst said, he could charm the pants off a Wookiee, if needed. Not sure why he would need to, but anyway that was neither here nor there. I did, however, notice how he subtly gave me the once over, it made a warm sensation flutter in my stomach, which I promptly ignored.

“I also heard you just got approved as a new double O”

“Umm … yes,” I knew the only reason I was approved was because of what happened to the previous double O, “I understand you were friends with the previous 008, and I am truly sorry for your loss, 007.  I’ll do my best to honour their number.”

------------------------------------------------------------

“When you told me you would honour the number, I was thoroughly impressed by you, I mean it wasn’t enough that you were intelligent, witty, and beautiful, but you were kind and considerate too. I couldn’t believe you said that, I knew at that moment how amazing you truly were. I also knew I had to train you extra hard, because the life we lead could easily eat your heart out. I’m sorry if my training ever seemed excessive.” Bond chuckled to himself, “What do I mean if, you very pointedly told me on numerous occasions that it was excessive. I remember one particular heated exchange, between us when you told me how much you hated me.  Do you remember? It had do with the time I had you in the pool trying to get you to undo your knots over and over again. I really thought after that day you would have run from me, God, you really hated me that day. I remember all those colourful words that came flying out of your mouth after I think it was the 13 attempt I made you do go back in the pool again. I thought for sure you were never going to forgive me, especially since I made the pool just above freezing. However, you thanked me, granted it was a year and a half later, but you said that training saved your life. Darlin’ ” Bond moved his hand from your fingers to your hair, brushing the hair back, “if I could trade places with you, I would in a heartbeat.”

------------------------------------------------------------

When I walked into the hospital room and saw James lying there my heart dropped to my stomach, I felt a cold shiver run down my spine. As I walked further into the room aiming for his bed, a movement from the corner of the room caught my eye, which is when I noticed Q was sitting in the chair in the corner.

“Hey” I had such a crush on Q since that first day, he was such a cute, adorable, nerdy guy. The only problem was he wasn’t interested. I noticed how Q’s cheeks tinted a little, despite the fact it had been four months since he rejected, it was still a little awkward between us after I had asked him out.

“008, he’s just sleeping, the doctor gave him some sleeping pills, he wasn’t able to rest fully” I nodded at his statement, “I’m going to grab some tea” Q stated standing up from his seat, “Would you like me to get you anything?”

I offered him a soft smile, “Thank you, no.” I appreciated that he was still trying, and wasn’t taking pity on me, simply because he rejected me. He nodded before heading out of the room. I walked over to my trainer, who was out like a light as his snores filled the room.

“I’m sorry” I offered, it had been my fault he was in this predicament, I hadn’t listened to him. He told me not to follow him, to stay with the protection detail we had for the Ambassador, but I just couldn’t shake the feeling something was wrong. I tried to explain it to him as best as I could, but he just ignored my input or at least I thought he had. “I should’ve stayed. The Ambassador is fine by the way. They got her out with no injuries after I took down the other three assassins. I should’ve listened to you. I should have stayed with the Ambassador the whole time. Instead, I ended up getting you shot. I’ll tell M, that I should be transferred out of the double O division, I clearly don’t belong here. I’m sorry for everything, for wasting your time, for being a horrible student. I’m sorry for it all.”

I turned to walk out of the room, when a voice called out to me, “You do that, and I’ll make you do water drills for two weeks straight.”

I turned my head to look at James, there was a smirk on his lips, “I thought you were sleeping”

“Q was driving me nuts, asking me how I was feeling every five minutes, I needed some peace and quiet.”

“I thought the doctor gave you sleeping pills”

“Mints”

I tried suppressing the chuckle that was about to erupt, I walked over closer to his bed, my fingers played with the blanket on the bed not far from where his hand lay resting. His hand reached over and held mine, “You have good instincts, you were right about your feeling, which is why I followed your assessment.”

“I still should have stayed with the Ambassador”

“Yes, but if you had, the Ambassador would’ve either been dead or kidnapped by now. You followed your instincts and because you did, you saved her life.”

“But I got you shot”

“Not the first time, probably not the last”

“Not funny”

“Not trying to be” I looked down to see our hands intertwined together, I looked up at James, his eyes locked with mine, “Tell me you won’t be leaving me … I mean double O division”

I smirked at him, “I won’t”

“Good, because once I get out of here, we’re going to be discussing how to know when and when not to follow orders in the field.”

“Great” I eye rolled at him, “can’t wait for that to start”

“Easy, still your trainer” he squeezed my hand, before I headed out. Q came back as I walked away from James.

“Still out?”

I looked over my shoulder to James, his eyes were closed, and a soft snore was filling the room, “Looks like” I smirked, turning back to look at Q, “Thank you for staying with him, if you want I can take over.”

“No, I’m good, I’ll stay for a bit longer.”

I nodded, “It should be me in that bed” I knew James could hear me, and I wanted him to know, “If I could trade places with him, I would in a heartbeat” Q squeezed my shoulder before he headed over to his chair, pulling out his laptop, I looked over to James, who gave me a wink before pretending to sleep again.

------------------------------------------------------------

“Q figured out the detonator was connected to a bomb on the paediatric floor of the hospital down the street. You should know your actions saved a lot of people. I’ve never been prouder of you. But then you always had a soft spot for kids, haven’t you, ever since our first assignment together.”

------------------------------------------------------------

I was lying on the couch with the child we were ordered to protect tucked into my arms, the room we were in wasn’t exactly the nicest or the cleanest but at least we were safe. James had finished securing the room, we would have to wait out the night before we could make it to our extraction rendezvous point, he walked over to the seat in the corner, his eyes ever watchful scanning the room, before it landed on us and the door.

“You should try to follow his example” James nodded to the six-year-old in my arms, who was completely passed out, after we had been on the run for the past 26 hours.

“I would” I whispered to James, “but every time I close my eyes, I keep seeing his mom …” I closed my eyes, a tear slipping through my defenses. I tightened my hold on the poor kid, he just lost his mom, and his father was the one responsible for her death, and now he wasn’t going to give up looking for him. The poor kids life just crumpled all around him. I heard a shuffling heading towards me, before a strong, stead and comforting hand pushed back the hair on my face.

“Hey” James whispered, “look at me for a second”

I opened my eyes to look at him, another tear slipping out, “What happened wasn’t your fault. Alright. She gave herself up, to save her son. You’re not responsible for what that man did, okay.” I nodded, “Plus I think she got the sense that you would be really good at taking care of him.”

“I’m not good with kids”

James smiled at that, “All evidence to the contrary” he motioned to where the little boys hands were wrapped around my torso.

“I think he just needed a warm body”

“I think he needed you” James' smile widened at that, “just rest, okay. He’ll need you, when we’re on the move again. I’ll keep watch.”

“You need to rest too”

“I’ll rest when I’m dead”

I stilled at that, “Please don’t”

“Don’t what?”

“Don’t say that, I don’t …” I looked down to the boy in my arms, “I don’t want you to die.”

“Hey” James used his forefinger to tilt my chin, so my eyes met him, “I’m not going anywhere, still have a lot left to teach you. Okay?”

“Okay”

“Rest” his thumb brushed against my forehead once again, lulling me into a sense of comfort and safety.

------------------------------------------------------------

“You know” Bond’s thumb brushed against your forehead, back and forth, “that first assignment was really difficult for me. Watching you lying on that couch with that little boy, I couldn’t stop staring at you, as you both slept. I was doing my best to keep watch, but seeing how you protected that boy, even in your sleep … you looked so beautiful.”

Bond wondered if he was going too far, telling you what he noticed, what he felt, however, the doctor did say that talking helped. In truth, he was noticing it was helping him too, being able to give a release to all the emotions that had been bottled up ever since he met you, it was as though the pressure on his chest, that had been his constant companion since that day was finally starting to ease up.

“You always amaze me, how you can look so amazing in practically anything, even now, lying in this bed, you look gorgeous, so peaceful. Reminds me of the assignment we had in Macau, it was supposed to be your first official high end casino assignment.”

------------------------------------------------------------

“What is this?” I held up the garment bag that was left on my bed.

“That is your outfit for tonight”

“Why do I have a feeling, I’m going to hate you for this?”

James just shrugged as he turned to his room, “Try it on and see, I’m going to head down to the casino floor, remember you are to enter into the high stakes player room after the first round of baccarat is played. Make sure to wear the jewelry as well, hair and makeup done.”

“Yes, Mr. Bond”

James stopped at the door, turning back to look at me, “What did you say?”

I curtsied towards him, putting on a fake Russian accent “Yes, Mr. Bond.”

“Please don’t use that accent”

“Fine” I rolled my eyes at him and headed back to my room. I had to say the dress was stunning, not what I had expected. It was a vibrant green that hugged all the right areas, it wasn’t too tight, and allowed me room to move if I needed to run after someone. By the time I made it downstairs, and was directed to the high stakes room, the first round of baccarat was just ending, I opened the door, remembering James' words ‘you are a Queen when you enter, all eyes should be on you, and no one else. Everyone is beneath you, and they should grovel, plead, beg to be in your presence.’

------------------------------------------------------------

“When you walked into the room, it took all my strength not to punch all the mens lights out, the way they ogled you, even some of the comments they made. You were breathtaking. You truly were a Queen.”

------------------------------------------------------------

When I glanced over at James in his tux, the way it fit him so perfectly, I had to remember I wasn’t there for him in particular. I was there to distract the target, I sat at the stool, crossing my legs, allowing the slit of my dress to drape down on either side of my leg. I called the bartender over and ordered an Armand de Brignac Rosé.

“A woman who has exquisite taste” I turned to see our target leaning against the bar beside me.

“Why settle for anything less than the finest the world has to offer?”

“I couldn’t agree more, my dear”

James stood behind me calling the bartender over, when the dealer announced that everyone had a thirty minute break before the next round.

------------------------------------------------------------

“When the target came and started hitting on you, I had to keep reminding myself this is what we were hoping for, to get him distracted to make him slip. However, I hated every moment his eyes lingered, every time his finger grazed across your skin. All I wanted to do was slam his face into the bar. I hoped one day, I’d get to see you in that dress again, but this time it would have been solely for me.”

------------------------------------------------------------

I noticed how the women in the room had kept their eyes on James, a few had even given him their room key. I wanted to walk up to each one of them and slap them, but then I never had a claim on James.

------------------------------------------------------------

“I think it was during that assignment when you first got injured, of course you didn’t tell me, because you thought I would’ve been disappointed. When I walked into Q’s office, and he was trying to stitch you up, I hadn’t realized until then that you had feelings for him. The way your eyes examined every inch of his face, the way you bit your bottom lip, God, how I wished at that moment you would look at me like that…” Bond froze, did he really just say that; he stood there watching you. When he saw you go over the edge of the roof, that’s when he realized he should have told you, he hadn’t even realized how it had been building within him, the emotions building at every moment the two of you had spent together.

------------------------------------------------------------

It was months before I had worked up the courage to ask Q out, at the time, of course I didn’t realize he was gay and I was most certainly not his type.

“Why didn’t you just go to the doctor?”

“I don’t trust them”

“You know I’m not a physician”

“I know, but I trust you more than them, any day of the week and twice on Sunday”

“You trust me twice as much on Sunday?”

“Ehh, I trust twice as much compared to others”

“Hmmm”

Q moved away to throw out the bloody gauze, when the door to his office opened rather loudly, James walked in his face stern, he clearly had been watching us from the window. “Why didn’t you tell me you were injured?” He closed the distance between us in no time.

“I didn’t want you to worry”

“Well, you failed, so good job. Q, what are we looking at?”

“Deep laceration, no infection, I’ll have her stitched up soon enough, actually …” Q shuffled around taking off the medical gloves, “would you mind finishing stitching her up, I have to return a call.”

“Sure” James walked over, grabbed a pair of gloves and the needle and thread Q had prepared. It was one thing to have Q touch me, it was another to have James touch me. Every time, I always felt my heart beat faster when he was near. I had always chalked it up to being nervous around my trainer, never realizing it was something else entirely. At least not until the way you took care of me after.

“This is going to hurt, you really should have gone to the doctor”

“I have to get use to the pain”

“Is that what this is? Getting used to stitching yourself up?”

“Sure. Why not” I shrugged.

“Darlin’, don’t move unless you want jagged stitches” I watched as James focused on his stitches, his breath fanning over my stomach.

“Love you too, sweetheart” I looked at Q at that moment, there was a giant smile on his lips, I realized why he had kept his distance from me. He told me he wasn’t interested in getting close to his co-workers, but rather he wanted to spare my feelings, I hadn’t exactly been subtle about how I felt about him. I looked away from Q when I saw him start to shift towards us.

“Am I hurting you?” I looked at James, his eyes were boring into mine, I simply shook my head ‘no.’ “Then why the tears?” His voice was barely above a whisper.

I raised my hand to my cheek feeling the tears that had escaped, “I don’t know” I kept my voice low matching his.

“Is it because I’m not Q?” He teased

“Please don’t” I whispered as another tear slid down. God, I was so embarrassed, this wasn’t the first time someone had rejected me, so why was I a mess?

“Hey, I’m sorry, I was just teasing” James looked over his shoulder, grabbing the first aid kit, he tied off the stitch, put on a bandage and wrapped it with gauze “Want me to take you home?”

------------------------------------------------------------

“That night after stitching you up, getting you home and sitting on the couch, eating ice cream, with whiskey, which by the way, I thought I would hate. Except it has become one of my favourite things, my goto for comfort. Staying with you all day, watching reruns of some show I can’t remember and making you laugh and smile, not to mention that for once I wasn’t getting yelled at by you, it was at that moment I realized how head over heels in love with you I was.  I should’ve told you that years ago, but I just never had the courage.”

Bond shifted and sat back on the bed beside you, his hand cupping your cheek, “Sweetheart, open your eyes for me, so I can tell you how much I love you. We’ve known each other for years, and now that I actually almost lost you, I realized how in love with you, I really am. Please wake up.”

“You know” I mumbled, “you can talk for a really long time,” my eyes fluttered open to see James sitting there, a smile on his face. My smile. The smile that was reserved only for me.

“Says, sleeping beauty over here. Did you get enough beauty rest?”

“Oh yeah, tons. You should try it sometime, might make you feel younger” I smirked, leaning into his hand.

“I’m glad you’re awake”

“Me too”

Bond leaned forward, placing a kiss on your forehead, “You can’t go falling off roofs anymore, I hope you know that”

“I love you” I whispered as he peered into my eyes, James pulled back to look at me, his face was stoic before a smile broke across his tight lips.

“What?”

“I’ve wanted to tell you that since forever, I realized a long time ago too, I was in love with you, since that first day I met you. I realized my attraction to Q was just a way to push aside my feelings for you. I was scared to tell you, but when I saw you just before I fell, I realized it was stupid, all the times I pushed it aside, all the times we could have been together.  In our jobs, we only have today, and I want as many todays as possible with you.”

“Sweetheart”

“Yes”

“Shut up”

Bond leaned down crashing his lips on mine, deepening the kiss, “I love you” he mumbled against my lips “I have since that moment we met”

“Shut up, James and kiss me”

I closed my eyes, feeling his lips on mine, my good hand reached up cradling the back of his head, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss.

Bond couldn’t believe this was happening, it took a fall to wake him up. To wake the both of you up. He wrapped his arms around your body, pulling you closer to him, he finally pulled away when his lungs were begging to breathe.

“Do me a favour, sweetheart”

“Anything”

“Tell me you love me again”

“I love you, Mr. Bond” I teased him

“I love you, Sweetheart”
