Work Text:
as the sky outside grew darker and darker as the hours passed, a certain firecracker of a girl had plopped her (rather ethereal) girlfriend on their shared bed, with her scrambling to the head of the bed to settle down. yoimiya, the firecracker, and her lover, kokomi, had worked overtime at their respected jobs due to heavy snow storm hitting their area. they had only gotten home at 11pm, deciding to take the rest of the week off since there would be no way to arrive at work in the weather they had. the women washed up and ended up watching movies until four in the morning, with the occasional quick make out sessions during the ad breaks.
both ladies talked about things during the majority of every movie they put on, often getting confused at many parts since they were so distracted.
yoimiya and kokomi hadn't realized just how late it had gotten, and regretfully trudged up to their bedroom to catch at least some beauty sleep (though, it was more yoimiya dragging kokomi upstairs, but that isn't exactly relevant.) fast forward to now, the couple got comfortable under their big, soft blanket that kokomi's mother had sent them as an anniversary gift. yoimiya sleepily snaked her arms around her love's waist and torso, pulling her close to her own body. kokomi rested her head just above yoimiya's heart, listening to the calming rhythm of her heart beating in her chest.
"yoyi?" kokomi called in a tiny voice.
yoimiya's heart melted right then and there. how can someone be so pretty, so stupid, yet so utterly adorable all at the same time? she's asked herself this hundreds of times before, but could never form a real answer.
"yooyii" kokomi called again, this time shifting her head to nuzzle yoimiya's neck, whining and stretching each syllable in the nickname. yoimiya tightened her grip on her lover, stroking her long hair in the process.
"yes, komi?"
kokomi sat up straight in yoimiya's hold, leaning forward a little to mess around with her hair.
"you're my little firecracker" she kissed yoimiya's temple.
"my little goldfish" another kiss, but to her forehead.
"that little spark of hope for when i can't see the light" a kiss on the cheek.
"a source of happiness for when i can't feel" a kiss on her other cheek.
"my firepit of warmth that i seek for so often" a kiss to her nose.
kokomi held her girlfriend's face in her hands, lovingly admiring her features.
"see, look! i can hold the whole world in my hands~" she laughed, her nose scrunching up and her eyes closing in the most cutest way possible.
"...did you just make every fire related pun you could in the form of a compliment?" yoimiya asked, slightly amused but mostly in shock by how sincere yet funny she found kokomi's little speech.
"maybe" kokomi joked, putting her forehead against yoimiya's.
yoimiya took this opportunity to give her love a sweet, chaste kiss on her deathly soft lips, savoring the faint taste of strawberries against them.
"its my turn now! i think you're very drippy"
