Chapter 1: The Curse

Chapter Text

The young ruler sat on their new throne, their parents had died and by law, the crown is now theirs. Their staff and a few peasants had bowed once the crown had been placed on their head. A cold wind had swept through the room as the door had swung open.

A beautiful woman walked into the room, confident in her strides. The young ruler recognized the woman yelling to the guards to seize her, before everyone's eyes the guards froze and started to transform into statues. Before the Ruler could do anything, their staff had been turned into various items, the ruler got on their hands and knees asking for forgiveness.

The witch scoffed using their magic to grab a rose from a nearby vase, using said magic she spoke: "Your heart is ugly... I shall curse your physical form to be just like your heart" In front of the Ruler's own eyes, they see their hands form dark claws, the witch continues. "If you cannot find love by the time this rose finished to wilt you and everyone in this castle will forever be cursed"

"No! please!" The rulers begging did not reach the Witches ears before her spell had finished.

The ruler now looked as beasty and their heart did. The witch had disappeared as she finished her spell, the rose, now flowing with magic, the ruler looked to it with sadness. as their Staff who had been turned into objects start moving-

"What?!" Their mother stopped reading looking confused at the two boys. The skinnier of the two had spoken, Silco. "There is no way that is real" Vander, his brother looked to his younger brother.

"It's gotta be real, why is it in a book then?" Silco looked at Vander thinking it over.

"Is it true ma?" The woman chuckled.

"Who knows, you'd have to go to Piltover to see if it is" The boys gasped.

"Piltover?!" Vander grabbed his younger brother to hide behind him.

"The big scary castle?" The younger boy pointed to the said castle, which stood creepily in the distance, its once beautiful white walls had turned a dark grey. Their father walked out chuckling, He held their younger sister in his arms.

"Come on boys, time for bed" The boys groaned.

"But Dad I don't wanna" Vander complained as he got up walking inside with his dad. The mother stood up, looking to her youngest, who continued to stare at the long-lost castle.

"Come on Silco, time for bed" Silco looked up to his mother standing up. Before he entered their home, he looked back to the castle.

"Is the story true?" He asked his mother looking up at the woman. A strange look on her face as she looked up to the castle.

She smiled at her son. "It's only true if you want it to be"

At that Silco thought for a second, he smiled at his mother "Then it's true" The woman chuckled at her son, waving him inside.

The woman took one last long look at the castle before walking inside...
