(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Keith scowled at the court appointed social worker. Yes, it was his tenth time running away from his foster home in four years, but that is because all of them were horrible. Why would they not understand?

The stern woman gave him a dark glare, "Well mister, seeing as you constantly come back here, you are being moved all the way across the state. Good luck getting here from there."

He felt his heart sink in his chest. They couldn't do that! This was his home! The town was his family! He opened his mouth to say just that when the woman's had flew through the air and struck his face. She hissed for him to remain quiet before dragging him to her car and his doom. There was no way he was going to be getting into that car. He may only be ten, but he knew that if he got in there, his life would be over. He kicked and screamed, calling for help, but the troopers that the judge sent with the woman stopped the town's people from running to save him. They tried, but all failed. With a final shove, he was sent into the back seat and the door shut with the child proof locks turned on. He was trapped. He banged on the windows as tears streamed down his face. It was futile. When they arrived at his new "home," he was greeted by an overweight man that had a sneering smile.

"Welcome to your new home," the woman said smugly, " I am sure you will be taught how to behave here."

He was shoved into the house and the door clicked shut behind him, sealing his fate and doom.
