    Shouto hates not knowing things, most of all things that everyone else has known forever. Hates the way they all turn to look at him, shock and then mock indignation and then pity washing over their faces like waves. Hates the way it singles him out, marks him once again as other, and reminds everyone exactly why he doesn’t know things. So he learns to play along and stay quiet and look things up when he’s alone.

    But this time…this time is different. Because this time, the thing he thinks he’s missing might be about him.

    “Are you trying to get killed, Potter?” Malfoy drawls, stalking forward. Quick as a serpent himself, he reaches out and grabs the snake just below the head. It thrashes in his grip, but is no longer able to bite anyone. “This is a poisonous snake, and I doubt anyone brought a bezoar with them.”

    Harry glares. He opens his mouth, and feels the beginning the snake’s language pass his lips, and this isn’t what he wants, what’s the point of insulting Malfoy if he can’t understand him –

    Malfoy’s eyes widen. He slaps his hand over Harry’s mouth, “Potter, what the hell–”

    “Yeah,” Present Mic sighs, sounding grave, “But Shouta…it’s like I said. There was a dead dog, for sure dead. Izuku touched it and brought it back to life, just like that.”

    Izuku has a quirk that goes against the laws of nature. A target for both villains and heroes alike, he’s rescued as a young child by Eraserhead and Present Mic, raised in secrecy at UA. When he eventually becomes a UA student and his quirk is thrust into the limelight, Izuku must learn how to adapt, or fall.
