A whole day of meetings and arguments with her staff about new projects were always exhausting for her and this one wasn't any different, worse even. None of the sessions ended up good for her and all she was left with was frustration, rage and despair. Lena cursed herself for allowing her work to tire her out like this, though she kept reminding herself that the job is important and after all she's doing all this for the city and the greater good.
She was impatiently tapping on her desk with her long fingers, waiting for another crucial email to come through, when the huge wooden door of her office opened and a tall young woman walked in without asking for permission to do so.
“Lena!”
She lifted her eyes from the computer to meet the brown ones which belonged to her girlfriend. Though they usually come across as soft and calm, that time they seemed to be filled with anger, reproof and a bit of worry as well. The Luthor swallowed hard, recognising that look and tone dearly, she knew instantly she was in trouble.
“Diana, don't- don’t be mad! Please…”
Lena pleaded softly, looking up at her lover as she walked towards her desk. Her steps were firm and fast so in just a moment she was standing right above her.
“Baby, I- I'm trying, but you're making it very hard for me! You promised me something!”
“I know, I’m sorry.”
The Amazonian frowned and sighed sadly. She extended her hand and took her girlfriend’s to her own.
“Kara texted me you cancelled the lunch and so I asked Jess if you ate… she told me you haven’t stepped out of the office the whole time! Baby- I thought we agreed that you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself…”
This was one of those things she absolutely loved about Diana, how loved she made her feel by caring about her as a whole, both physically and emotionally. She'd always try to keep an eye on her and remind her to take some time off to take care of herself.
The beautiful green eyes fell to the floor in shame, knowing she haven't been doing so. She cleared her throat and murmured.
“Well- that's true, but there's a reaso-“
Before she could finish, Diana swooped her into her arms and the woman instinctively buried her face in the crook of her lover’s neck.
“You promised me, baby-”
“That I wouldn’t skip meals anymore. I know, I know- I'm sorry- there had just been way too much work.”
Long fingers found their way into the brown locks and stroke them gently, reassuring her baby that like always, she was safe with her. Meanwhile inside of her mind. her thoughts were all over the place. After a few more moments she made Lena to look at her and stated:
“You know what?! That's it. I'm taking you from work!”
“Babe! I can't just-“
The woman tried to break the embrace in protest, but Diana wouldn’t let her, instead she held her tighter and in firm voice she whispered into her lover’s ear.
"Sure you can! You're the boss."

The wind was playing around with the dark hair of the two lovers as they walked on a path through the woods, silently. The CEO had so many questions, but somehow she sensed that the walk in the nature was more appropriate in quiet. Diana held her girl’s hand finely as she led her forward and Lena slowly started to enjoy the feeling of peace that their surrounding was providing them with.
After few minutes they've reached their destination, edge of the woods right in front of a breath-taking meadow. There was grass everywhere and in between the culms of grass there were so many wild flowers. Lena's heart jumped a little seeing the beautiful scenery.
"Here we are."
"Where is here?"
The Amazonian was silent for a moment as she put down a basket, which she had brought from home, squatted down and started pulling out things from it. First a soft blanket, then some food thoroughly wrapped in paper and a thermos flask with Lena’s favourite tea.
"Reminds me of home. It's so peaceful and raw..."
Both of them sat down, the Luthor quickly found a comfortable spot for herself, in front of her lover, leaning back against her chest. Diana gladly took her love into her arms and kissed her cheek. Then she carefully poured some of the tea and handed it to her girl along with one ham and cheese sandwich.
"You know baby, back there, in Themyscira, no matter how busy the day was... we would always find a few minutes to appreciate the gorgeous nature around us.”
The CEO was happily chewing her lunch prepared by her caring lover and listened to her soothing words. Right then and there, she felt safe, all the worries went away, she could finally relax and not care about anything but the moment she was sharing with Diana.
“For me,... I've always found it so calming- the sun setting before my eyes, soft grass under my feet, wind stroking my skin- It always, even during the worst times... it made me feel better- "
"It does… Thank you, for this… I love you so much."
Soft kisses landed on the back of the woman’s neck and those strong arms caressed her body with so much care and affection.
“I love you too baby-”
