“Absolutely not”
“Oh come on! They’re offering easy money it’ll just be one year”
“I am NOT doing this; I won’t be guarding some spoiled rich brat for a whole year. I have standards you know” Vi crossed her arms defensively.
“It’s not just some spoiled rich brat, it’s the Kiramman’s kid who mind you are known to treat their employees pretty well… Think about it Vi, the money they’re offering could pull all of us out of the lanes. It could provide Powder the life she deserves”
Vi knew that Ekko could strike where it hits, she grew up in the lanes and this was her home and she wouldn’t trade it for the world but she knew in her heart that this wasn’t an environment she wanted her sister to grow up in. They were barely getting by since they stopped doing illegal things, after the whole robbing incident in Piltover Vander had her swear to not do such things again.
“Fine… just know I’m doing this for powpow and no one else”
“Sure you are” Ekko said with a smug grin.
As she was headed to the Kiramman estate she had run into a man who seemed to be in a rush. “Hey watch it!” as he ran pass her with haste while clasping something in his arms. “Jeez what’s his problem?”
She continued on her walk, until she was stopped to what looked like an enforcer and a hot one at that. “Excuse me! Have you seen a suspicious man running in the opposite direction?”
“No not really.. Well come to think of it yeah some dude just ran pass me not a while ago” VI said casually ignoring her observance of this enforcer being quiet cute.
“Thank you-“She sped fast her. That guy looked like he was armed she thought, she worked with crooks like this before and knew whatever that guy was clasping for wasn’t anything good. It wasn’t any of her business; she should continue on her path this meeting was of importance she should make a good impression she didn’t know that enforcer at all plus all enforcers were asshats anyways.
“Fuck… Hey wait up” She dashed towards the opposite direction. This woman was fast, for a topsider. She ran past the enforcer towards the man who was headed towards the market with crowded streets. Nimble on her feet she jumped on crates and stalls that were lined up hopping from one stall to another, this was nothing her sister could do this. Vi could make the man out in the narrow streets that were packed with topsiders. He turned towards what looked like a dead end.
“It’s over you can’t go anywhere else” Vi said with pant.
“You! Who are you? That enforcer couldn’t catch me”
"That's none of your damn business, so why don't you tell me what you've been hugging in your arms so dearly?"
”The man started laughing “It seems I underestimated you topsiders, jokes over you’re dead.” As he pulled out a gun pointing to Vi one hand holding the box one on the gun. Vi put her hands up, fuck why did she chase after someone who she knew was armed with nothing.
A shot… the gun dropped to the ground as did the man and the box.
“You know, that was a really stupid thing do” Vi looked at the opposite direction to see the enforcer gun in her hand.

“You’re not a bad shot”
“A thank you wouldn’t hurt you know”
“PUH-LEASE I had him you couldn’t even chase him on foot”
“I had a gun! I wasn’t the one who chased down an unknown man with no plan in mind” the enforcer had snarkily retorted.
Vi laughed, “Touché, you got me there cupcake”
“Caitlyn. My name is Caitlyn”
“Nice to meet ya… I’m-“Vi had come to the realization as to why she was in Piltover in the first place. Fuck I’m screwed Vi thought as she bolted out to the open streets heading back to the road she was on.
She arrived at the gates of the dreaded Kiramman Residence; she scoffed at the grand house. It always left a bitter taste on her mouth to see how people here lived in contrast to people in the lanes. She rang their bell as a butler came out, “What business do you have here?” “Hi? I was told to give this letter” The butler took a glance at the letter, “I see… I’ll walk you in”
The inside was even more luxurious than what Vi was expecting, marble and all. The butler led her up the stairs to a grandeur door, as he knocked a voice “Who is it?” “The bodyguard, She’s here” “Thank you Albert, tell her to come in you are excused”
Vi was met with a woman who was busy on a desk doing paperwork, not looking at her as if she wasn’t even worth her time, “Sit down” She did.
“So tell me, do you think you’re up to the job? Do you realize what you’re signing up for?”
Vi couldn’t help a scoff “How hard could it be? I’ve dealt with worse. Now let me ask you a question.”
The woman finally looking up observing Vi, and eyeing her to ask the question.
“Why do you even need a personal bodyguard? Piltover is protected enough with the amount of enforcers here and it seems that you’re estate is also well guarded, this kid seems to be safe to me.” She asked with genuine curiosity.
“Well, the problem is-“
A knock.
“Mother are you there? May I come in?”
“Ah perfect timing she’s here, Come in dear”
As the door opened Vi turned to see the enforcer she had helped earlier!?
Blue met grey.
*Ehem, Vi turned back to the older woman “Well My daughter here is part of the enforcers that does the protecting, against my wishes” she eyes her daughter.
“Caitlyn this young woman here will be your bodyguard, as this is your first year as an enforcer you aren’t quiet as experienced she will be by your side“ The older woman said quiet pleased with herself.
“With all due respect mother, I don’t need a bodyguard. I want to gain experience through by myself. Have we even assessed this young lady’s abilities-“
“What?? You were struggling to catch a rookie thief cupca- Caitlyn, anyone in the undercity would’ve laughed at you.” VI said in a cocky tone proudly.
“It seems you two have met, Caitlyn whether you like it or not she’s staying. Refute and I shall do everything in my power to pull you out of your little enforcer job.”
“But mother-“
“Do you understand?”
Before anything else could be said Caitlyn had stormed out, now Vi was left again with the councilor.
“I believe we haven’t formally introduced Names Vi.”Vi held out her hand
The noblewoman looked at the hand as she shook it “Cassandra Kiramman. Pleasure to start working with you, Now go direct yourself to Albert he shall have you suited.. In better clothing”
