Sitting by the fireplace with Albedo cuddled comfortably into his chest. Christmas songs playing, he gets up, pulling the ash blonde by the hand as he begins to sway them both to the rhythm of the music, his classic smirk on his face.
Placing his head into the crook of Kaeya’s neck, finally letting his body relax completely for the first time in a long time, Albedo felt tears pricking at his eyes as the warmth of the other became almost unbearably comforting.
“I love you”
Every time he uttered those words Kaeya would do so in a way that would make Albedo want to hold him until the end of time and let him know how much he meant to him, every time he would say those simple words, it seemed like he was saying them for the last time. And that pained Albedo more than anything. The star eyed man looked down at his lover with so much love and adoration that even Celestia couldn't come between the two.
Slowly lifting his hand to place it on Kaeya’s cheek, Albedo made sure that his next words would express his true feelings, even though he knew that as a Homunculus he should not have any. “My love, I wish I could simply say ‘I love you’ as you do, and yet I cannot find the right words that could be used in place of such a complex sentence. I do love you, but that much is not enough to show you what I would do for you.”
Now, Kaeya was the one to start crying. And as the sound of the fire crackling became all they could hear, and as the song came to an end along with the year, and as Albedo smiled softly the way he only did to Kaeya, the two knew that they would be together for every year after this one.
