Work Text:

It's a girl. He's holding his daughter. Still cover in gunk and blood and is all slimy. Still attached to him by her umbilical cord. Wailing her head off.

She's beautiful, Din thinks as he cleans off the blood and slime with a soft towel.

"Hello Ad'ika. Welcome to the world." he says while crying. She's so beautiful.

He cuts the cord thing tying her to him. And then waits until he's discarded the placenta to call his son to meet his sister.

"Grogu, it's okay now ad'ika. You can come in." he calls.

Grogu toddles in so fast, rushing to his buir. It appears he didn't stay in the bunk like he was told to.

The kid fusses over him, clearly worried about his guardian. And Din doesn't blame him. If he heard the noise he was making without any context he too would think someone was being tortured.

"I'm okay ad'ika. I'm okay. I'm okay and so is your sister. We're both safe. I'm promise." he says gently running a finger over the kid's ears.

Grogu's eyes focus on the baby held in his arms. Curious but hesitating to touch. Din's thankful the kid didn't immediately reach for the baby.

Din takes his son's hand and carefully places it on the bundle in his arms. "Meet your sister ad'ika. Grogu this is Galilee. She's your sister." he says quietly.

Grogu very carefully places both hands on the blankets, staring at the baby. Galilee and Grogu stare at each other in amazement. Then Grogu gives a happy giggle and happily turns to him, "siswew?"

"Yes sister. She's your sister ad'ika." Din happily replies. He's so happy Grogu like his baby sister.

Still sore it takes him a minute to relocate himself and the children to the bunk. But it's worth the effort for soft padded mattresses and warm blankets around him.

Grogu is still entrapped, staring at his sister when she starts wailing. The green children turns to Din in distress when his babbling and gentle pats do nothing to calm his sister.

"It's okay ad'ika. She's okay. I promise. She's just hungry." he says and he turns the girl to his chest. He guides her to his nipple and she latchs on, much softer that her brother does.

Grogu on the other hand doesn't like the baby taking his food and quickly whining and turning away from him to angrily pout.

"Oh ad'ika. Don't pout. I have enough food for both of you." he says as he picks the toddler up and brings him to his free nipple. His son latchs softly and suckles away with his sister.

"See? There's no need to be jealous ad'ika. There's plenty for both of you." he says. Neither child hears him, both too busy filling themselves up.

"I'm gonna have my hands full with you two, aren't I ade?" he questions the children.

Notes:

A sorta sequel to "Ad'ika" and more Din feeding his ade. Enjoy - S Aurora.
