Chapter Text

Marcy walked down the street with her green spotted umbrella in one hand. Rain poured down from the cloudy sky as she did.

She took in a deep breath of air. She honestly loved weather like this. Anne didn’t. Marcy didn’t know why.

She was also careful to not slip on the wet concrete, again, that would be really embarrassing if it happened out in public. Even though there wasn’t many people walking by, only trucks and cars drove passed.

She finally made it to the small house that she shared with her girlfriends. After they graduated, they decided to get a house together that was close by to Marcys college.

She grabbed her key out of her pocket. Before she could open the door she heard a faint ‘mew!’

She paused

‘mew!’

She stepped away from the door and walked down the porch steps. “I must be hearing things..” she was about to walk back up the steps until she heard the sound again.

”alright I’m definitely not just hearing things!”

She walked around their front yard and found nothing, until a fluffy orange tabby kitten with amber eyes, waddle from under the steps of their porch.

”aww!” She crouched down and let the kitten sniff her hand. After he did that he rubbed against her while mewling.

Then a second kitten stumbled out, instead she was all black with green eyes. She ran up to Marcy and started brushing up against her legs.

“Oh my frog you guys are adorable!” She squealed while petting the 2 kittens. Marcy was definitely gonna take these guys home if they don’t have a mother.

The black kitten lunged at her brother playfully fighting with him.

Marcy crawled away and checked under the stairs to see a box with a blue blanket inside…and another kitten.

This kitten was a silvery blue tabby with blue eyes. He noticed Marcy and immediately started hissing. “Woah! Calm down little guy” she mumbled while reaching for the box.

On the side of the box it had a yellow sticky note that read ‘pls take care :)’.

Marcy didn’t hesitate to scoop the other 2 kittens inside the box and put the blue blanket over it so they wouldn’t be too scared.

Marcy turned her key that she left in the keyhole. The black kitten was poking her little paws out which Marcy found adorable.

She walked inside and closed the door with her foot, Set her backpack on the ground, and quickly took her shoes of, she knew Anne would scold her for not doing so.

She walked inside the living room to see Anne knitting something and Sasha trying to copy with a bored look. It was Friday so they both got off of work early.

”Hey marce! I’m teaching Sasha how to knit” Anne greeted her cheerfully. Sasha groaned “Anne…we’ve been doing this for hours! Mar Mar please help..” Marcy couldn’t help but chuckle.

”Sash we’ve been doing this for about 30-minutes”

“It feels like we’ve been doing this for 20 hundred years!”

Anne rolled her eyes. Sasha sat up and looked at the box in Marcys hands “What’s that?”.

Marcy glanced at the box then back at her girlfriends, “A smoothie…”.

Anne blinked.

”A box with 3 kittens inside…”

Anne paused in her knitting process and Sasha perked up with interest.

Marcy set the box on the glass table they had in the middle of their living room and pulled the blanket up a little.

The black kitten poked her head out.

Marcy.”

Then the orange tabby poked his head out.

”Cool!” Sasha said while slowly reaching out to pet him. He rubbed up against her hand and purred loudly. The black kitten hopped out and started sniffing around.

“Marcy, we talked about this. We don’t need another cat” Anne said setting her knitting supplies down.

Marcy frowned, she picked up the black kitten to scratch under her chin “Please Anne, Their so cute! I already named them”.

Anne crossed her arms, “oh really?”

”Yep! The black ones Hollyleaf-”

Anne knew were this was going.

”The orange tabby is Lionblaze and the 3rd one is Jayfeather!”

Sasha tilted her head “You got that from those Warrior Cat books you told be about didn’t you?”

Marcy nodded eagerly and hugged Hollyleaf closer.

Anne just sighed, “But what if they have a mother?”. Marcy smiled “I checked and all I found was this box that had this note on it” Marcy said ripping the note off and handing it to Anne.

Anne read the note then looked back up at Marcy who had a big smile on her face.

“Please Anne, I like this guy!” She said while letting Lionblaze attack her hand playfully.

Anne though for a moment, how could she say no to those adorable little faces. Jayfeather poked his head out but didn’t dare move again.

‘These kittens do look like they need vet treatment’ Anne said noticing how tiny black fleas crawled over the kittens.

“Fine..” she grumbled. “Hooray! Thanks Anne!” Marcy cheered then pecking Anne on the cheek.

‘I hope Domino would except them’ Anne thought to herself.

Chapter Text

Anne stretched, trying her best not to wake her sleeping girlfriends. ‘Meow’ Domino hopped onto her lap and begged for affection. Anne chuckled and scratched her under chin and behind her ear.

She picked Domino up and headed downstairs to feed the rest of the kitties.

She locked the kittens in the laundry room overnight so Domino couldn’t get to them. She poured some more water and food in her bowls and watched her munch on it.

She walked to the other side of the kitchen and opened the door to the laundry room. All 3 kittens were awake. Hollyleaf and Lionblaze being the most playful while Jayfeather just hid in the box.

“Goodmorning little kitties” she said while getting their food ready. She poured 2 cans of wet food into a wide bowl so the 3 could share.

Lionblaze was the first to start eating it with Hollyleaf being second. “Wow, you guys must’ve been starving” Anne said stroking Hollyleafs head.

Jayfeather was crouched down in the corner of the box, but Anne wasn’t gonna bother him.

She picked up the empty cans and walked out to throw the empty cans away and shut the door. Domino finished eating and started to brush up against Anne’s legs.

She picked up Domino again to let her rub her head against Anne’s. “Gn’awwww!” Anne loved her cat so much. She’s had Domino since she was pretty young, now, Dominos muzzle was graying with age.

She walked up the stairs with Domino in her arms. She entered the room she shared with her girlfriends and set Domino down on the bed. Marcy was up playing her switch while Sasha was still asleep.

”Morning’ Anne! Morning’ Domino” Marcy greeted not so quietly, scratching Domino behind her ear.

Sasha slowly blinked open her eyes. She was not a morning person.

“Good Morning Marce, Sash” Anne said placing a kiss on Sashas temple. Sasha yawned and smiled “Goodmorning girls…what time is it?” She asked looking towards Marcy, who was laying down next to the nightstand.

Marcy perked up then went to check the clock “it’s..8:30” She said turning back to her switch.

Sasha sat up and grabbed Domino to place her on her lap. She stroked her fluffy fur gently. “The kittens vet appointment is at 9:45, right?”. Anne nodded.

“I can’t believe that you actually let us keep them Anne” Sasha said sarcastically.

Anne smiled petting Domino, “I couldn’t just leave them out in the rain”. “Nope! You couldn’t” Marcy jumped out of bed.

Anne walked over to Marcy to ruffle the shorter girls hair.

A few minutes later the 3 was getting ready to go to the vet. Anne made a quick breakfast of Waffles and eggs.

Anne was in the bathroom brushing her teeth while Marcy was still figuring out something to wear.

Sasha walked in the room to grab her jacket and noticed Marcy laying on the ground with a frown. “Why aren’t you dressed?” Sasha asked looking down to Marcy.

”I don’t know what to wearrrr” She groaned. Sasha sighed and helped her up. “Don’t worry, I’ll find something for ya” She said walking back over to the closet.

She picked out a long sleeve white shirt and some overalls.

”There” She handed the outfit to Marcy then walked back out of the room.

Anne was now downstairs trying to get the kittens in a cage they had saved. She easily got Hollyleaf and Lionblaze in the cage. Jayfeather wasn’t going in without a fight.

The poor kitten had his fur raised to make him seem bigger. Anne wasn’t scared since she was an experienced cat owner. The kitten hissed.

She crouched down and held out a small cat treat that she gave too the other kittens.

He slowly crawled out from hiding and sniffed Anne’s hand. With that, she lead him into the cage closing it after the tip of his tail disappeared inside.

She picked up the cage by the handle on the top and called out to her girlfriends. Marcy came down the steps and greeted the kittens. “Hey wittle kitties!” Hollyleaf rubbed against the door of the cage and let out a tiny ‘mew’.

‘Meow’ Domino rubbed against Marcys legs and looked up at the cage that Anne was holding.

“You can meet them when we come back” Anne told Domino. Marcy giggled.

“Okay I’m ready” Sasha hurried down the stairs and grabbed the keys to their car and opened the door for her girlfriends.

As usual Anne was the one driving, Sasha was in the passenger seat, and Marcy was in the back seat with the kittens.

”Yo, hand over the aux” Sasha called out. Anne narrowed her eyes, “what are you gonna play..?”. Sasha frowned.

“Why does it matter?”

Sasha reached for the aux.

”If you play My chemical Romance Sash, I swear-”

She got cut off by a familiar instrumental.

Don’t mess this up for me guys’

Marcy tried to hold in her laugh.

‘Here we go, im a heartstomper!’

”stompin’ on hearts!” Marcy sung along.

“If you wanna get awaaaayyy” Anne added.

“Your gonna need a head start!” Sasha finished off.

The 3 bursts out in laughter.

They finally reach their destination and Anne parks the car. Sasha got out first to open Marcys door, she bowed playfully “M’lady”.

“Oh! Thank you dear!” Marcy replied in a fancy accent. Sasha grabbed Marcys free hand to plant a short kiss on her.

”Hey what about me!?” Anne frowned playfully. Sasha gasped dramatically “Oh no! My poor, poor Anne Savisa Boonchey..” Sasha tried grabbing her hand but Anne snatched it away. Anne rolled her eyes.

“Don’t call me by my full name” Anne warned. Sasha scoffed “Your parents do it!”. Anne facepalmed, “Well-that’s because their my parents!”.

Sasha sighed dramatically “I’m very sorry. Kiss?” She made grabby hands at Anne. Anne grinned evilly “Nope!”

“Can you guys stop being gay and hurry up!” Marcy Snapped.

”How dare you call me that word!”

Chapter 3: Rivalry

Summary:

Anne forces Sprig and Sasha to get along

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Anne groaned in annoyance at the two who were arguing right in front of her and Marcy. Sprig and Polly came over to their house because Hop Pop things to do and didn’t want them getting in the way.

“-It’s not my fault that you slipped!” Sasha huffed. Sprig rolled his eyes “Don’t lie, you knew that the grass was wet and yet, you told me to go get the dumb ball so I can fall on purpose!” Sasha growled and crossed her arms “It was literally raining last night, of course the grass would be wet!”

Marcy glanced up from her switch and looked at the argument before her, before looking back to Anne. Anne turned her head and met Marcys dark brown gaze. The shorter girl gave a reassuring smile, which made Anne blush for some reason.

Polly groaned from Anne’s side “Can you stop flirting and just stop these two!?”.

“I don’t have time for arguing with a 12 year old!”

“And I don’t have time for arguing with a n old lady!”

Sasha narrowed her eyes with a frown.

“And I dont have time-” The blonde was cut off “And I don’t have time for hearing your dumb argument!” Anne shouted.

That immediately stopped it. At least for now.

Anne sighed and glanced at Marcy who seemed to not be paying attention at all. “Look, maybe you should just talk and find out why you hate each other” Sprig looked at Anne plainly “Anne don’t you trust me? I’ve been with you my entire life!” Her cousin said. “We are family and you should listen to me.”

Sasha scowled “Just because you’re family with MY girlfriend doesn't mean anything. She could still trust me more!” Sprig frowned then whispered to Anne but loud enough for Sasha to hear “Yknow what they say about blondes..”

That got a short laugh out of Marcy who seemed to be listening now.

Sasha rolled her eyes “And yknow what they say about gingers..” She muttered.

Anne quickly stepped in before another argument started back up “Hey! How about we go out for ice cream and the park for some fresh air!”

Polly practically leaped off the couch, “YES! I’m looking for another slide to take over!” She slammed the door open and ran to the car.

Marcy stretched and stood up “I guess I can use some vitamin D.” Anne held a thumbs up with a very forced smile “Great! Now everyone’s happy, right?”.

No response.

”right!?”

”Yes Anne.” Sasha and Sprig said in unison.

Anne smiled threateningly, “Good! now we are gonna go to the park without any arguing and just get along!”

They followed Polly outside who was leaning on the car with her arms crossed “Took you long enough” she huffed. Anne unlocked the car and and got in the drivers seat. Sprig quickly took this opportunity to climb in from the drivers seat and sit in the passenger seat.

He gave an innocent smile to the oblivious Anne who returned it. Sasha was about to open door to the passenger seat until she noticed Ed sheer-Sprig, Anne’s little cousin, had brutally took the seat from her.

She was not gonna let this go.

”Hey kid, get in the back” The blonde said, motioning towards Marcy and Polly who were sitting back there. Sprig slowly shook his head, with that ugly sly grin that Sasha wanted to slap off of him. “I was here first.” He pointed out smartly.

Sasha gritted her teeth together. ‘Calm down Sasha..’ she thought to herself. “Well I usually sit in the front soooo…and plus, how old are you? Like 5 or something.” Sprig frowned deeply “I’m 12! I’m literally a teenager-” “PRE-teen” Marcy said chiming in.

Anne gave Sasha a look which told her everything she needed to know. She sighed before closing the door to the front seat and decided to sit by Marcy in the back.

She slumped in the back seat with another dramatic sigh. Marcy gave her a light kiss on the lips and pulled back with that adorable smile. She left the blonde love struck.

”ew” Polly mumbled.

Sasha knew no matter what- Sprig shot her a quick friendly smile- even if they argue she would still always love him like a brother.

Chapter Text

Anne was just cleaning for the day. Feeding the amphibians one more time before she left, and today was also the day she had to clean up the enclosers so she stayed just a while longer than usual. “Hmm hmm hmmm…” she hummed along the song that played through her headphones while her phone sat in her pocket.

She was crouched down and leaning in to put in a new plant for sprig and to feed him. She placed in a small cricket and sighed in relief as she stood up. She unplugged her headphones from her ears and stopped the music while she closed the door to the encloser. “Few! I am now finally done and could go home to see my sweet little kids and wives..I wonder what they’ve been up to..”

_____________________________________

“SASHA!” Marcy yelled at her wife. The blonde just laughed some more. “I-I’m sorry! I’m sorry! It’s just..” she said between laugher while trying to catch her breaths. Marcy groaned, trying so hard not to splash paint on to the annoying blonde. “Mama!” Marcy turned her head to see their son, Micah, painting a sun in the top corner of the large canvas. “Mama look! Am I doing okay?” He asked. Marcy smiled weakly. “Yes honey! It looks great keep painting!”

She said even though she was dying on the inside. They weren’t even using the colors she picked out! And having her idea crushed to shreds was kinda upsetting. But she couldn’t complain. She liked this idea to. She looked at their daughter, Oliver, who was busy trying to paint clouds. On a blue sky. So of course it wasn’t even showing up. Which made Marcy giggle a bit.

”okay mar mar, how am I supposed to do it then” Sasha asked as she finally got herself to stop laughing. The black haired women rolled her eyes. “Just like this.” She said while grabbing a brush that already had light green paint between the bristles, and moving it up and down against the bottom of the canvas. “It’s really not that hard.” Said Marcy, handing her wife the paintbrush.

Sasha frowned playfully “well I’m sorry we’re not artist like you.” She said gesturing towards herself and the kids. She then noticed Oliver was trying to put the paintbrush in her mouth “Hey Ollie don’t eat the paint sweetie.” “sorwy mommy” Oliver said and continued to paint.

Marcy snorted and put her attention back to the canvas. Sasha tilted her head “what?” “Nothing.” Marcy said while keeping her attention on the canvas. “You’re a good mom.” She added. The blonde blushed and did the ironic limp wrist “it’s nothing! Haha!” Marcy rolled her eyes.

Sasha eventually learned how to paint the grass. It wasn’t as good as Marcy’s, but it was okay for now. The kids started on the trees while Marcy fixed up the sky and clouds a little and Sasha looked after the kids.

While Sasha watched the two she decided to ask Micah about his day at school. “Hey mikey, how was your day at 1st grade?” She asked, helping out his sister a bit with the leaves of a tree. The curly auburn haired boy shrugged. “It was okay I guess..but Henry was being mean to me again..” he said a bit sadly. Marcy was listening as she painted up the cracks in the blue sky. “Did you tell Mrs. Jacky?” Sasha asked.

Micah hesitantly shook his head no. “What, why?” His blonde mom asked again. Micah shrugged “I dunno. I guess I just didn’t want her to know.” Marcy glanced over at her son and raised a brow “why did you not want her to know?” He shrugged once more and continued to paint. Sasha sighed and placed a hand onto his shoulder. “Look. It doesn’t matter what Henry or whatever thinks. And if you don’t feel comfortable telling your teachers or principal, we will not hesitate to come up there and cuss them out!”

Marcy gasped while Micah and Oliver both giggled. “Sasha!” She exclaimed. Her wife shrugged with a proud smile. Marcy rolled her eyes and turned towards her son “She explained it an…interesting way. But she’s not wrong. Let us know if he’s bothering you. Anne, Sasha, and me want to protect you. M’Kay?” She said ruffing his messy curly hair a bit. He smiled and giggled “okay mama!”

Sasha stood up and stretched her limbs. “Speaking of Anne. She should be coming home in….5 minutes.” Marcy accidentally dropped her brush “5 minutes! Why didn’t you tel me!?” She said she scrambled to pick up her brush and to quickly finish up the sky. Sasha rolled her eyes “I just told you!”.

_____________________________________

Anne smiled as she saw their house coming into view on the road. “Man! I can’t wait to relax with the kitties!.” She said happily as she pulled into the parkway behind the 2 other vehicles. She hummed as she turned off her car and opened the door. Before getting out, she grabbed the Thai go that she was able to pick up on the way. She then shut the door with her foot, and locked the car with the keys. Satisfied once she heard the beep, she walked up the porch stairs and pushed the key into the keyhole and turned it to open the door.

”Honeys! I’m home!” She said As always because she likes saying it for some reason. Chuckling at the thought, she quickly slid off her boots and walked into the kitchen to set the food down on the counter. While Unbagging the food she heard multiple “Mrrows!” Looking down, her face lit up at the sight and she crouched down. It was all 4 kitties. Domino, Hollyleaf, Lionblaze, and Jayfeather. “Hi my babies! Did you miss me?” She said in a high pitched voice as she made sure to pet all the cats an equal amount.

She stood up and walked into the living room. It was clean surprisingly. But no kids or wives. “Hmm?” She then walked into the room the kids shared. And once again no kids or wives. But the cats that followed her in the room. She checked their room, the office, the bathroom in case they were having a bath. Until she realized. “oHH! There’s a backyard! I can check there!” She walked back down the stairs and into the kitchen. She peeked through the glass door. Hearing a few meows from the eager cats that wanted to spend some time outside for a bit.

She heard a few hushed voices and some tall square thingy that had a black cover on top of it. She smirked and slid open the glass door. Letting the cats out and stepping outside on the patio. “Well well well. Wives, kids, I know you’re there.” She said with arms crossed. Oliver was the first to run out from hiding. “Mommy! Mommy!” She called out while running towards Anne. Anne smiled brightly and pulled her into a tight hug.

“Hey Ollie! I missed you!” Oliver giggled. Then Micah stepped out of hiding, then Marcy, then Sasha. “Ugh! Oliver this was supposed to be a surprise!” Anne chuckled and opened up her arms for him to join their hug. Marcy glanced at the painting sheepishly. “Well uhh, hi Annie! We were working on a painting…” Marcy started. “But it went a bit haywire…” Sasha continued. Anne smiled eagerly. “Really!? I can’t wait to see it!”

Marcy hesitantly pulled off the cover. “It was supposed to be all of us standing in a Apple orchard. But then when Sasha said you would be here in 5 minutes I started to rush and then a paint bucket spilled on the floor and the canvas fell into the puddle and it was just really crazy!” She said, very quickly. Anne stared blankly for a second before smiling. “It seems like you guys put a lot of work into this masterpiece! I LOVE IT!” She squealed, squeezing her kids into a tighter hug while they both giggled.

Sasha raised a brow “really? Come one Anne be honest…” she mumbled. Marcy gave her a look before elbowing her aggressively. “Ow!”
