Chapter Text
Set up – Hope has just got her body back leaving Lizzie, Josie and Ryan with the real Aurora
&
‘Ryan wake up,’ Lizzie yelled across the room not daring to move from her position in front of Aurora who seemed to be out of it as well from what had just happened but she wasn’t about to take the risk.
‘What did you just do,’ Ryan asked waking up thankfully his voice shaking slightly as he pulled himself into a sitting position where he and Josie who was still unconscious had been blasted.
‘It doesn’t matter,’ Lizzie shouted back seeing that Aurora was starting to twitch where she was on the carpet ‘just get the chains and get over here.’ To Lizzies relief Ryan seemed to get his head on straight in this moment, scrambling to his feet he picked up the pile of cursed chains that had been sent flying into one of the rooms filing cabinets and running forward dropped them on Aurora. Cursed as they were they immediately wrapped them self’s around Aurora making it impossible for her to move which in turn caused her to wake up fully and scream in rage glaring at Lizzie who was still standing in front of her.
‘Well that’s not Hope anymore,’ Ryan said smiling looking briefly at Lizzie and then turning away from her and Aurora to move back over to Josie and try and help her.
‘Is she ok,’ Lizzie asked concerned relaxing slightly now that Aurora was handled looking over at Ryan as he looked over Josie who she could see was beginning to move.
‘I think so,’ Ryan nodded looking up from Josie to Lizzie clearly trying to be reassuring.
‘To bad I had my fingers crossed,’ Aurora cut in here mocking the two of them.
‘Ha, ha, ha,’ Lizzie said turning her attention back to Aurora mocking her in kind staring down at Aurora where she was chained up on the floor of the office space they had done this in. Pausing for a moment Lizzie considered everything, they were safe from Aurora now but they still had Hope to worry about which meant her original plan had to be considered.
‘Hope, who’s back in her body now I assume isn’t far from here,’ Aurora smiled apparently sensing what Lizzie was thinking ‘I can give you the address if you like.’
‘Why would you do that,’ Lizzie asked frowning studying Aurora carefully as she spoke concerned this was some kind of trick ‘why would you help me find out where she is.’
‘Lizzie,’ Ryan began sounding concerned standing up from where he had been crouching next to Josie but Aurora cut across him before he could finish.
‘Let’s just say I have my reasons for wanting Hope dead,’ Aurora grinned sending Lizzie a kind of manic look as she spoke. ‘I was at five Holland drive,’ Aurora continued still grinning before anyone else could speak ‘so Hope will be there now, it’s a big house you won’t miss it sweety.’
‘OK then,’ Lizzie said quickly in an almost robotic voice stepping away from Aurora deciding to trust the woman on this one thing and go do what needed to be done. ‘Ryan make sure Josie is ok, with luck I’ll be back soon,’ Lizzie added as she was moving away looking back at her sister for a moment as she went a little glad she didn’t have to face Josie right now.
‘Lizzie, please,’ Ryan began gulping slightly stepping towards her.
‘Ryan you can’t stop me,’ Lizzie countered cutting across him before he had chance to continue giving him a pointed look ‘I’m going to do this.’
‘I know I can’t,’ Ryan sighed sounding a little frustrated by this fact ‘but there’s something I need to tell you first ok, please just hear me out.’ Lizzie wanted to just ignore Ryan and leave right there but she was about to trust him with her sister’s well-being so she figured she should hear him out so she stopped moving and turned back around to face him. ‘I had an idea,’ Ryan said quickly seeing that Lizzie was giving him a chance ‘it’s why I came and it’s why me and Josie came after you because if I’m right you’re the one who can get Hope to flip her switch back on Lizzie.’
&
I imagine if this was the episode this is where the scene would end and then the episode would cut to Hope
&
Hope was still really fuzzy from the transfer and getting her body back just in general so she had stayed where she had found herself in the house she assumed was Auroras sitting at a bar area drinking licker that looked very expensive. She had been sitting there for a while so it didn’t surprise Hope when she heard someone walking up behind her but she wasn’t worried because she could tell who it was, ‘hi Lizzie,’ she said turning around and smiling mockingly.
Leaning on the bar she took Lizzie in who looked to be very determined and seemed to be holding some kind of stake ‘that it then,’ she asked eyeing the stake ‘the thing that can kill me.’
‘Yes,’ Lizzie frowned looking Hope up and down clearly trying to gage what her chances were.
‘You know if you were to give it a go I think you’d be in with a chance,’ Hope mocked smiling not moving from her position ‘I am a little out of it after the transfer back I think you might be able to do it, probably be a dream come true for you.’ The moment Hope said this part something in Lizzies expression changed, Hope wasn’t sure what it was but it was enough that it got her to sit up right readying herself for Lizzie to attack or something but she didn’t instead she just moved the stake away.
‘You know what I’m not going to do that Hope,’ Lizzie began glaring at her with real hate in her eyes ‘you’re not getting out of this that easily.’
‘O really,’ Hope laughed ‘what you going to do, are you of all people going to try and get to me now, really Lizzie I thought you were the realist.’
Lizzie paused for a moment seemingly considering her words but then she continued ‘no that’s not what I’m going to do Hope, I’m going to walk out that door,’ she said shaking her head as she spoke and pointing at the door she had come through ‘and I’m going to leave and I will never be here again and I’ll make sure the others aren’t either.’
‘Great,’ Hope smiled ‘that’s what I’ve been trying to get you all to do from the beginning, what exactly convinced you to finally leave me alone?’
‘Because,’ Lizzie started emphasising this word ‘I realise you’re not like your dad Hope, your worse than him, your bad enough that you don’t get to die and maybe find peace.’
‘Wow,’ Hope said mockingly but with a slight edge to her voice ‘tell me what you really think why don’t you, how exactly do you figure I’m worse by the way, just out of interest.’
‘One thing I will give Klaus Mikaelson, he actually had an excuse,’ Lizzie said in a rather matter of fact tone but with her voice cracking slightly as she spoke ‘I mean with parents like the ones he had I think anyone would turn into a monster.’ Lizzie took in a breath here but kept going ‘the man he once thought was his father killed his actual Dad then spent like a thousand years trying to kill him and his mum cursed him to stop him from becoming the hybrid, what exactly is your excuse Hope?’
‘So are we going with blame the parents are we,’ Hope countered looking to try and beat Lizzie in this line of questioning but failing.
‘Well I guess we are,’ Lizzie shrugged not letting up ‘both your parents loved you unconditionally, you have so many people that love you, there are people who treat you like a daughter who had every reason not too,’ she added practically spitting this end part. ‘You’ve lost people sure,’ Lizzie continued ‘but everyone has and they don’t choose to run away from the people who care like you’re doing, even Klaus didn’t do that.’
‘What’s that supposed to mean,’ Hope asked her voice cracking slightly now.
‘Well you see that’s the thing Hope,’ Lizzie said razing her voice now ‘his worse fear was being alone, he went to quite frankly incredible extremes so he wouldn’t be alone, your very existence is a result of a night he didn’t want to be alone.’ Lizzie took in a breath seemingly trying to rain in her anger but failing ‘and look at you Hope,’ she shouted ‘your choosing is greatest fear, which is what I’m going to give to you now and it might take a hundred years but one day you’ll know why that was you’re dads worse fear.’ With that Lizzie did as she said she would and turned around walking out the room leaving Hope alone who had stopped reacting to her by this point with her thoughts seemingly ending things once and for all.
&
This is where I imagine there would be another cut scene as well as a slight time shift to Lizzie waiting outside for Hope and the others
&
Sitting in the driver’s side seat of the car she had driven here Lizzie remained dead still outside the large house she had left Hope in not taking her eyes off the front door even when Josie and Ryan arrived. There was the sound of opening doors as Josie got in the front and Ryan got in the back but Lizzie kept staring at the front door of the house waiting to see which kind of Hope would come out.
‘Lizzie,’ Josie ventured in a small voice clearly a little worried to ask the question ‘did you?’
‘Relax, Hope’s fine,’ Lizzie sighed finally taking her eyes away from the front door of the house and looking across at Josie ‘I tried Ryan’s idea.’
‘Did it work,’ Josie asked automatically a hopeful note appearing in her voice.
‘I don’t know,’ Lizzie shrugged ‘I just walked out like you said I should Ryan, that was like ten minutes ago now.’
‘And Hope’s still in there,’ Ryan asked speaking up from the back now.
‘Yeah,’ Lizzie nodded actually smiling slightly ‘I’ve been waiting and she hasn’t come out so I’d imagine that’s a good sign.’
‘Yeah, you’d think so;’ Josie smiled ‘maybe it worked.’
‘What changed your mind Lizzie,’ Ryan asked his tone curious now ‘when you left you didn’t seem like you wanted to give my idea a go.’
‘I don’t know,’ Lizzie said shaking her head answering Ryan’s question as honestly as she could ‘I just, I don’t know, I just decided to try saying the things you thought I should say.’
‘Well I’m glad you did,’ Josie said placing a comforting hand on Lizzies shoulder ‘and I think you’ll be glad you did to in the long run.’
‘Why did you decide it should be me who should say all those things,’ Lizzie asked looking from Josie as she retracted her hand to Ryan in the back ‘really why me of all people.’
‘Well,’ Ryan began slowly looking away clearly a little embarrassed ‘both me and Josie represent something very different for Hope than what you represent Lizzie.’
‘Plus, neither of us could really go where Ryan was suggesting,’ Josie added looking embarrassed as well.
‘So, you two,’ Lizzie began drawing out her words as she spoke ‘are basically telling me you got together and decided I’m the one to deliver tuff love to Hope because you both think I’m a bitch and you think Hope agrees.’
‘We used different words when we talked about it,’ Josie said meekly trying to defend herself.
‘O I bet you did,’ Lizzie said glaring at her sister rolling her eyes at the same time.
‘Guys, look,’ Ryan shouted getting their attention before an argument really got started pointing out that Hope had come out the front door of the house looking like she had been crying.
Not one of the three said a word as Hope locked eyes with the car and started moving towards them, following her progress across the drive they all watched as she walked to the car and without a word got in the back next to Ryan. Everyone immediately looked at Hope expecting something from her but she just looked back at all of them an unsure expression on her face, ‘well,’ Lizzie asked after a few moments of silent staring.
‘Your little display worked ok,’ Hope said letting out a large sign looking away from everyone and out the car window ‘and I’m sorry but can we just leave it there for the moment ok.’
‘Sounds like a plan,’ Lizzie nodded starting the car up and driving away in no rush to talk herself either.
&
Again this is where a cut scene would be maybe with a scene in between where we see some of the others get a call that there on their way back with Hope. After that things would cut back to the four of them in the car where I imagine the episode would end.
&
Everyone just sat in silence as the car moved forwards which was very uncomfortable for Ryan so eventually he had to say something, ‘how do you feel,’ he asked looking over at Hope who was still looking out the window. He knew it was kind of a stupid question to be asking given the context but silence seemed stupid to him as well so this seemed like a good place to start things off.
Hope didn’t say anything for a few minutes just continuing to watch the night time scenery pass by but just as Ryan was about to ask again she turned around. ‘What happened with Trudy,’ she asked giving him a slightly daring look as she spoke clearly trying to stop him from asking her questions.
‘It worked out for the better actually,’ Ryan sighed deciding to take the question at face value ‘I was honest with her and now everything is out in the open, that’s not something you should feel guilty about.’
‘I don’t feel guilty about that Ryan,’ Hope countered rolling her eyes ‘did you tell her you were going away so you could save me.’
‘Not in those word but yes,’ Ryan scowled this really wasn’t going the way he had expected ‘once I’ve seen you back I’ll be going back to her which she understands but we don’t need to talk about Trudy.’
‘Who’s Trudy,’ Lizzie asked from the front here getting intrigued by this conversation now.
‘Yeah,’ Josie asked joining in ‘who is Trudy?’
‘She’s Ryan’s girlfriend,’ Hope smiled mockingly eyeing Ryan as she spoke ‘Ryan has a girlfriend.’
‘O really,’ Lizzie laughed embracing this distraction as she came to a junction and stopped the car ‘I take it you caused a bit of trouble there then?’
‘Just a little,’ Hope giggled as the others sniggered as well ‘but in my defence if you saw Trudy you’d understand why.’
‘Are we really doing this,’ Ryan said smiling an exasperated smile looking at the three girls who were all mocking him right now. ‘Trudy is actually rather nice,’ Ryan tried still smiling out of exasperation as the lights changed and Lizzie pulled the car forward. Ryan was about to continue to defend his girlfriend but before he could a massive 18 wheeler lorry made contact with the car and everything went momentarily black.
For the most part Hope remained conscious after the lorry hit them but even for her there was a limit to what could be done while in a barrel rolling car so she was only able to really think after the car came to a stop upside down at the bottom of a dich. Breathing heavily Hope looked forward trying to see or for that matter hear if Josie and Lizzie were ok or as ok one could be after being in the kind of car crash they had just been involved with which thankfully they did seem to be even if they were out cold. She was about to call out to them which wasn’t easy to do while upside down but a sickening gurgling sound starting right next to Hope right away drew her attention away from Lizzie and Josie.
Turning Hope saw that Ryan was still conscious but he was also the souse of the gurgling sound, glass or something must have cut his throat and now he was practically choking on his own blood. ‘Ryan,’ Hope yelled reaching with her hands to help him right away this immediately becoming her first priority thanks to the humanity that had as of recently been returned to her but before she could a hand reached through the shattered car window and pulled Hope through it. ‘Hay,’ Hope yelled in protest as she was pulled outside and away from Ryan ‘he needs me to help, who are you?’
‘It’s nice to see you again bitch,’ a familiar voice said to Hope as the hand pulled her all the way out and through her on to the grass outside of the car.
‘Trudy,’ Hope said bewildered looking up and seeing Ryan’s crazy girlfriend looking down at her.
‘Yeah,’ Trudy smiled glaring down at Hope letting her see the bone dagger she was holding which looked familiar ‘and before you ask bitch,’ she added smiling an evil smile ‘yes, this is the real one.’ With that said Trudy stabbed the blade in to Hopes chest and watched as it buried its self-there disappearing in a moment and rendering Hope immobile.
