Your friendship with Logan is quickly blossoming into something more, though now that he's back and is making amends for his time away, you find yourselves being pulled down different paths. Struggling with the distance that you protectively foster for the sake of each other, we ask this question of our lovelorn duo: will things ever be the same? ⊹ As a small preview into the work, we kick things off at the climax of the Duvos conflict and end with Cornered Beasts (hint hint!). Please see the notes section for the referenced game missions. I will preface that this is a much longer timeline than the previous two installments; nevertheless, retaining the theme of the series, this one is still heavily guided by main and side missions!

Summary
Mostly Logan POV because I just plain like to write him. Chapters will be released as I write them.
After Max's failed attempt to save Sandrock from destruction by the Duvosian fleet, he decides he needs a new strategy if he's going to stop them. This time, he's going to help them. To do that, he's going to have to go back further in time, back to before it all fell apart. Of course, Max will do anything to ensure Sandrock's safety, but going back this far will mean Logan won't know who he is. Will Logan still fall in love with him, or will Max be left alone?
Max's plans will dramatically alter Logan's life. Logan might not even be the same person, too much has happened between then and now. Will he even like the person Logan is when he hasn't gone through any of the events that weigh on the Logan Max knows and loves?
Too many questions, no way to answer them except to try.

A true ensemble story that is funny, romantic, full of heart and a little sexy. The story is canon compliant(ish), mostly in the fact that I try to stay very true to everyone's personalities and motivations, and there is often the thread of canon in-game happenings going on in the background.
However, I am deeply invested in a non-canon pairing, and most of the daily activities/relationship beats/family events of our Sandrock citizens just come straight from my pretty little head.

Weaving through the various complications of surviving in the harsh environment and the insurmountable demands of the job, she kept her eye on the prize, to bring those responsible to justice; however, the revelations seem to fuel more skepticism. Amidst the confounding evidence, she is left to wonder about her own motives, unveiling the truth or exacting revenge.
How much of herself was she willing to lose to satiate her quest to uncover answers?
She is flawed, straightforward, tactless, foul-mouthed, unapologetic, and some call princess. An enigma draped in armor and armed with a pickaxe.
The story follows the timeline of the main story of MTaS, with which I took the creative license to serve the plot.
