Kagami Tsurugi was a girl of very simple needs. She never wanted anything too extravagant, she never wanted anything too grand. To her mother, that made her a perfect child to raise.
So, when she started going out with Adrien Agreste, heir to one of the most prolific fashion industries in the world. She acted the same as she always did, not wanting not needing.
Until December. Kagami was coerced into a class get-together with Miss Bustier’s class for Christmas. While she wasn’t part of that class, she was added anyway through Adrien’s insistence. To make things fair, Kim could bring Ondine and Marinette could bring Luka.
Arriving at the park where they said it would take place. Kagami saw her boyfriend giving a lot of high-quality gifts to his friends. He got Marinette top-grade fabric, Alya a drone to record Akuma attacks, Nino a full goddamn DJ set, and other perfectly tailored gifts to everyone. Everyone except her apparently. When the fencer arrived, as soon as she gave him her gift-a carefully made necklace, Adrien didn’t stop to give her a gift in return, instead going towards Nathaniel to give him some high-quality paints.
She tried getting his attention multiple times, but all of them to no avail. A dark part of her stirred. She was his girlfriend; shouldn’t she deserve the most attention? It’s not fair, she should get as much attention-more even than his friends.
Catching her thoughts, Kagami forced them back down. With Hawkmoth still out and about, it’s better if she locks these feelings for now, or at the very least trap herself somewhere so Ladybug and Chat Noir can catch her Akuma quickly.
Noticing his girlfriend’s distress, Adrien walked over and grabbed her hand. “Hey Kagami,” he asked. “Can you come with me for a second?”
She nodded. “Okay.”
Adrien led her away from the party, and a greedy part of her wished for things as expensive as the gifts Nathaniel, Nino, and all the others got. She forced those feelings down again. Mother would never approve of these feelings; all of these vices were not becoming of a daughter. She knew she would have to face those feelings soon, but for now, she just wanted to see what Adrien was planning.
“Just cover your eyes for a second, kay?” he asked. She obliged and covered her face with her hands. After hearing some shuffling, Adrien gave the okay to open her eyes.
What she saw was absolutely tremendous, to say the least. Sets on sets of exquisite fencing swords she would have only dreamed of having before. Intricately-made outfits Kagami recognized as ones made from high-tier fashion designers, Gabriel’s Fashion included. Things Kagami had offhandedly mentioned to Adrien were given to her in bulk. Dozens and dozens of things Kagami couldn’t possibly put a name to all of them, yet she’s sure they’re something to die for.
“W-well? Do you like it?” Adrien asked, turning nervous and skittish.
Kagami rushed to hug him and planted a kiss on his lips. She buried her head in his shoulder, responding, “I love it.”
The model reddened further from that gesture. “M-merry Christmas, ‘Gami.”
She nuzzled his neck again, put off the troubling thoughts ailing her before. Her mother would have a stroke upon seeing this. Oh well, not her problem as of right now.
“Merry Christmas, Adrien.”
