Pei Ming was a very observant person, more so than he was given credit for.
So he noticed how his friends little sibling started acting lately. Due to his giftedness in the field; it was clear to see what the Wind Master was sick with!
The clichés that caught his curiosity in the youth were like large signs practically screaming it. The sighs, the swoons, the glee. It all pointed to something very interesting indeed. The God was in love!!
The perfect time to bring up his theories to his friends came like clockwork. They all were gathered casually having tea, a serene quiet that left Pei Ming itching.
“Has Shi Qingxuan been acting a bit different lately?”
Shi wudu, who had just come from a lunch with his brother raised an eyebrow at the question. Clearly not appreciative of the notion.
“As his elder brother, I think I would know if something was wrong. Why? Is there something I should be told?”
He was always so defensive with anything concerning his brother so his reaction didn’t surprise the General at all. In fact it was the reaction he was hoping for.
Ling Wen just kept staring at her work, not wanting or caring to participate in the conversation.
“Oh it’s nothing special. Probably not my place to comment on it at all.”
Shi wudu set down his cup harshly.
“Don’t play with me Pei Ming. If you have something to say then say it.”
He chuckled and continued, leaning back casually.
“Just an old man’s observation is all. I could be completely misinterpreting-“
“Get on with it!”
“Right right sorry,” he laughed again “I think the Wind Master is in love.”
The horrified face Shi Wudu made was truly worth all the offerings Pei Ming had gotten in all his years. No amount of merits or gold could make up for such a great reaction.
Using the moment of shocked silence to continue,
“I mean as the elder brother surely you’ve seen it? He goes back and forth from being on total bliss to sighing and broken up. A sign of pure longing.”
“Oh please-“
“Or the way he’s been dressing lately? It’s even more extravagant than ever and he’s even been in his female form more and more. Clearly he’s showing off for someone. Or-“
“I’ve heard enough of this foolishness. I’m going to find him and question him myself.”
The elemental god stood up and tried to walk away but Pei Ming blocked his path.
“Don’t be rash now!! This is something that must be delicately handled! You can’t just go and interrogate him on it!! Brothers alike he will probably get defensive about it or embarrassed! No we must handle this mature and gracefully.”
And so now they were tracking down Xie Lian to interrogate him instead. Ming Yi was no where to be found like usual, and of course they couldn’t ask Shi Qingxuan himself where he was. Too suspicious!
The two gods(Ling Wen refused to be apart of this fun adventure) showed up unannounced to Puqi shrine.
“Ah it looks nicer each time I see it!”
The marital god smiled while Shi Wudu looked at the run down temple in disgust.
A very confused Xie Lian walked out to great them, a not so cleverly disguised Ghost King in tow like always. Really Pei Ming had seen them together more than not. Haven’t they heard the term absents makes the heart grow fonder?
“Hello! To what do I owe the…pleasure to see you two here today?” Xie Lian gave a weak but hospital smile.
“We have some questions for your highness!”
“So you show up unannounced and without invitations?” The totally not supreme ghost king smiled cruelly at the gods.
Xie Lian laughed nervously, “it’s fine San Lang, it’s probably important.”
Shi wudu snapped his fan closed quite harshly.
“Yes it’s deeply important. It has to do with his lord the Wind Master. My brother.”
The disgraced god looked a little worried.
“Is everything all right with him?? Is he in trouble?”
“Oh Nono!” Pei Ming said quickly “It’s just that we wanted to know if you noticed anything different about him!”
Xie Lian looked thoughtful for a moment before looking at ‘San Lang’ then back to the others.
“Well now that you mention it he has been coming over more lately but I didn’t think much of it…”
“My brothers been coming here often?-“
Shi Wudu started to say, but a cold chill went up his spine and he made eye contact with Crimson Rain.
“Ah- I had no knowledge of these visits. Has he said anything important or his reasons for coming over?”
“Hmm no but he does often speak about the Earth Master. It seems he’s been very busy lately so Shi Qingxuan has been lonely.” Xie Lian offered. Quite the helpful guy overall really.
“Interesting.” Pei looked over to Shi Wudu with a smirk
“If that’s all, leave. Me and Gege have much work to do today.” The youth in maple red smiled threateningly at the gods as a not thinly veiled “fuck off”
They got the message and fucked off
“Oh do you think they were asking about ‘that’?” Xie Lian looked to his companion who only shook his head.
“Looks like we got the culprit now! It must be the Earth Master that has captured the heart of heavens Darling Shi Qingxuan. They are quite close! It should’ve been obvious from the beginning.”
Pei sing-songed as they returned to the heavens
“How ridiculous. I refuse to believe this nonsense!”
Shi wudu was furious clearly, His total little brother complex on display.
“I’m finding that bastard.”
He practically threw a fit and called loudly into the public Communication ray
“WHERE IS THE EARTH MASTER MING YI?!??”
Everyone practically jumped at how loud he was. Ears ringing.
Pei tried to stop him but it was now out of control. He wanted to rile up his friend a bit but this was ridiculous.
“WHOEVER BRINGS HIM TO ME GETS 8 MILLION MERITS-“
“Woah woah woah buddy- chill out-“
Pei Ming tried to remedy a bit but it truly was out of his hands. He’d have to apologize to Ling Wen for the fuss later.
Not too long after that a fussy Shi Qingxuan with Ming Yi stormed to Shi Wudus Palace.
“Ge what is all of this?!”
The Wind Master was in her Female form and even her beauty couldn’t hide her anger. Probably the first time Pei Ming had seen it.
Even when he was accusing Xie Lian back with the little Pei stuff the God wasn’t so up in arms like now.
“Me and Ming-Xiong were bombarded with people saying you held a ransom on his head!!!”
Shi Wudu ignored her anger and pulled her away from the deadpan God
“I simply can’t sit by and watch you be swept up by someone like the earth Master. As your Ge I won’t allow this crush to continue.”
She looked confused for a moment and pushed back from her brother, crossing her arms and pouting furiously.
“What are you talking about!?? Ming-Xiong is wonderful! And Crush??? Ge, me and him have been dating for years!! Today is our 50th anniversary!”
“Ho Ho-“
“Which you’ve totally interrupted with all this by the way!!”
She wrapped her arm around the Earth Master and Pei Ming realized they were both dressed up quite a bit. It wasn’t out of the ordinary for Shi Qingxuan but it wasn’t often Ming Yi was.
“Excuse me?????????? Anniversary?! This is a cruel joke- say it’s a joke!!”
“This is why I didn’t tell you!”
She rolled her eyes and tightened her grip on Ming Yi’s arm. Honestly Pei Ming was about to test the gods pulse, being so dead pan during all this chaos had to be a sign of some issue.
“But- what about how you’ve been upset lately! I won’t allow my dear sibling to feel lonely, you deserve constant love and appreciation! Especially near an anniversary.”
“Wha?? Who did you talk to and hear that!! Ming-Xiong is simply busy doing his duty’s! Sure I get a little lonely but he always takes good care of me!”
(He had to do jobs to pay off debt cause of the burning of Paradise Manor, Hua Cheng was a cruel bastard of a loan shark. Who knew what he’d had to do for this day off.)
Pei Ming completely lost it rolling around laughing- very undignified but in the face of this misunderstanding he couldn’t help it.
It all really did make sense. But to think the Wind Master would be so lowkey about a relationship was very interesting!
Shi Wudu hit him with his fan but he only kept going. Not only was the Water tyrant unaware of his siblings feelings but also the fact they were in a relationship for 50 years!!! Hilarious!! He’d have to ask if Ling Wen had already known.
Shi Qingxuan had Shi wudu apologize, something only she could get him to
do, and left to continue their celebration.
And true to his word Shi Wudu rewarded his sibling 8 million merits for bringing Ming Yi to him.
