Summary
Shi Qingxuan wishes to repent to the one he things he owns it the most, taking up the last journey he probably will, he can feel it in his bones.
But seeing the dark sea the courage is beginning to fade. Not anylonger sure what to say and only a little pearl he had found on the way as comfort, the world before his eyes went black.
The next thing he sees are Bone Fish surrounding him. Only acting out of reflex to hold them at bay, but there are no hands to do so! Instead there are just fins!

In the night of Shi Qingxuans birth and his parents receive the prophecy of the fortune teller, they actually take his advice and don't hold a feast in his name. Keeping him save from the Reverend of Empty Words.
But also they keep him more sheltered than every before, fearing that every little moment he might shine would cause the prophecy to become the truth. Holding him more plain and away from everyone that might cause him trouble.But this causes him to feel more lonely within the years, until a fateful meeting.

He’d finally found it:
Black Water Demon Lair!
Shi Qingxuan wasn’t quite sure he’d ever really be able to find it. Xie Lian had certainly tried to dissuade him; it was only after Shi Qingxuan declared he would look the rest of his life if that’s what it took that Xie Lian cajoled some leads from his Crimson Rain Sought Flower.
Xie Lian had wished him well…though if Shi Qingxuan was serious about spending the rest of his life looking, then they’d probably never see each other again.
And that thought had honestly made Shi Qingxuan a little sad. Xie Lian was his very good friend, after all.
But “very good friend” isn’t the same as “best friend”…
And that’s who Shi Qingxuan was determined to find.
It hadn’t been easy. And for all that people tended to treat him like an idiot, Shi Qingxuan wasn’t dumb enough to assume it would be so simple.
But if he could just find Ship-Sinking Black Water—
No.
If he could just find He Xuan, then it would be worth it.
Shi Qingxuan finally finds Nether Water Manor, assuring himself he’s prepared for what’s inside.
He’s not.

Summary
((This is going to be lighter in mood than the predecessor. I make this claim before having written a single word – but I have a plan, so I might turn out to be right. For once. Usually that sort of prediction dies a quick and painful demise. (It did not, oddly enough. It’s not all sunshine, but I didn’t go off the deep end, either.)
The chapter headings, like in the predecessor, are as close to those of TGCF in style as my brain allows. I have promised myself that I’ll never do this again.
The title came to me late (after I finished writing), I never liked the working title I’d used, and I’m glad that I came up with this. The first part is a shout-out to the Star Trek episode Is There in Truth No Beauty (I swear, TOS has the best titles in all of history), the second seems to echo Isaiah 28.15, but it’s unintentional. I only know this because I tend to reverse-search my titles to avoid quoting people I wouldn’t want to quote. This is neither here nor there for me, so it can stay.))Series
