Standing from his desk, Walt ruminated on the hollowly reassuring mantra of “Leave it, Walt. Leave it alone” as he straightened his Father’s Day mug, as he grabbed his briefcase, as he brushed off the eraser fragments scattered across the black soapstone surface like the shredded stuffing of a falling airline seat.
