Jesse finds himself in yet another mess. Like the past few weeks haven’t already been screwed up enough.
Shit’s been piling up for weeks. And now they’ve gotten dragged into that stupid war between Gus and the cartel, because of course they have. He knew it. He’d had a bad feeling about it from the start. Going south of the border without any real idea what was waiting for them… Yeah. Great. Fucking suicide mission.
And out of everyone, he should’ve stayed the hell out of it. He shouldn’t even be here right now. He should be in a hospital.
His shoulder is getting way worse than he ever thought it would. He should’ve taken care of it earlier, gotten the surgery, like the doctor told him. But no. Of course he let himself get pulled along by the man. Again. Instead of trusting his own better judgment.
Now he can barely take the pain anymore. And to top it all off, they got picked up and locked away by the cartel.
Not just anyone.
Fucking Lalo Salamanca!But well, the man might turn out to be quite different than Jesse expected. In some ways, at least. And whatever this is … this encounter … it might change things. Maybe everything.

A Better Call Saul alternate universe in which Lalo Salamanca has a daughter and "Nacho" Varga has a brother. After Hector Salamanca's sudden health decline, Lalo Salamanca travels to Albuquerque to run things- and he decides to bring his 22 year old daughter Esperanza along for the ride. Esperanza and the cartel's money distributor, Luis Varga, develop a stronger bond than they would like. While things in the cartel get grittier, Lalo gets more suspicious of his daughter's affairs with Luis. How will Luis and Esperanza manage their feelings for each other whilst Luis deals with the grief of the death of his older brother, and Esperanza desperately tries to prove herself to her father? (This story takes place during seasons 4, 5, and 6 of bcs. Most plot points are the same to the show, except in this universe Lalo has a daughter and Nacho has already passed away, and his younger brother Luis is here to replace him. (I do not take credit for Better Call Saul or any of its characters. This story contains some foul language, and some descriptions of the cartel/violence. Lots of in-depth character thoughts/feelings and emotions! This contains many chapters and is still being written, so please be patient!!)
