Everyone fears Yiling Laozu and his name can already make you shudder in fear.
His real name is Wei Ying, courtesy name Wei Wuxian but none speaks of his name nor title in fear.
He heard faint cries and men smirking, "freak!" one of them shouts and punches the small human that has a tail and ears of a cat.
Wei Wuxian presumes the woman dead beside the small entity is its mother and it was crying loudly.
It seems it doesn't know how to speak nor fight back so all it can do can cry.
He was named Lan Wangji also known as Lan Zhan.
Wei Wuxian walks towards the men, "what are you doing?" Wei Wuxian asks.
The men face him and didn't waste a second to drop the small human and ran away recognising Yiling Laozu.
Wei Wuxian glances at what was pulling his robe, it was a small human and it has ears and tail of a cat.
He carried the small human and wipe it's tears before going to the nearest orphanage.
He carefully place the small human down and knocked on the door.
An old woman came, "keep him his mother was killed" Wei Wuxian commanded, "yes Yiling Laozu" the old woman said bowing.
She motioned for Lan Wangji to come with her but he runs to Wei Wuxian's cloak hiding himself.
The old woman and Wei Wuxian looks at each other before Wei Wuxian tried to push Lan Wangji away.
He whines and clings to his feet.
"Y-Yiling Laozu h-he seems to want to s-stay with you" the old woman stutters Wei Wuxian crouches down trying to push Lan Wangji away again but he wouldn't budge.
"Help me pull him" Wei Wuxian said and the old woman did but they can't remove him and Lan Wangji started crying.
"No get off shoo shoo" Wei Wuxian said sighing but Lan Wangji crawled to Wei Wuxian's chest clinging onto him.
Wei Wuxian tried one last time and solemnly look at the old woman, "he won't ever let go would he?" Wei Wuxian asks and the old woman shakes his head.
Wei Wuxian groaned behind his mask, "well then, I am sorry for disturbing we'll be going" Wei Wuxian said.
It was morning and Lan Wangji stays close to Wei Wuxian he would hold the end of his robes as they roam around the busy streets of the city.
Wei Wuxian bought two apples one for him and one for Lan Wangji, "here" Wei Wuxian said handing him the apple as they sit down at the bottom of some stairs.
Lan Wangji excitedly bites the apple with his small fangs and eagerly ate it.
"Do you talk?" Wei Wuxian asks and Lan Wangji sadly shook his head.
"But you can understand me?" Wei Wuxian asks again and Lan Wangji excitedly nods.
Wei Wuxian sighs and watches Lan Wangji slowly finish his apple.
Wei Wuxian was reading a book near a river while Lan Wangji tried catching fishes.
He caught two fishes and ran to Wei Wuxian.
"Wha- oh thank you" Wei Wuxian said since he was about to go hunting and Lan Wangji excitedly watch Wei Wuxian as he cooks the fishes.
He eagerly ate his fish while Wei Wuxian watches him as he eats it.
His tail was wagging and his ears were twitching as he eats.
Wei Wuxian arrived at Burial Mounds with Lan Wangji clinging onto his robes.
Wen Qing looks at the entity clinging to Wei Wuxian.
"What is that?" Wen Qing asks.
"A strange entity that I saved last night... He clinged onto me" Wei Wuxian said.
Lan Wangji faces Wen Qing and shyly hugging Wei Wuxian tighter.
Wen Qing brings out a candy he excitedly reveals himself and take it before going back to clinging to Wei Wuxian.
The heat of the summer is killing Lan Wangji and it was a good thing his master stays in a cave that is always cold.
Whenever he and his master would sleep he would cling onto the cloak.
He and his master sleep in the cave or trees sometimes, anywhere with grass.
His master always smells like green apples and whenever they would take a bath he was so handsome.
They were in the dark place again in a room where they usually stay when they visit the dark place.
He would excitedly crawl and play in bed while his master would be at a table doing something with papers.
Lan Wangji is squealing and playing with a ball when Wei Wuxian slammed his hand frustrated on the table.
Lan Wangji stops playing scared and he hid in the smallest corner fear running through him when he saw Wei Wuxian's intense glare.
"Quiet!" Wei Wuxian shouts and Lan Wangji got so scared when Wei Wuxian raised his voice he ran away.
