Work Text:
"What did you do to me?" Scott demanded. He crowded Stiles against his locker. Luckily, it was during Stiles' study hall and, since classes were in session, the hall was mostly empty.
Scott hadn't been in any of their shared morning classes, nor at lunch. There were no texts on Stiles' phone from anyone -- specifically none from Scott. Stiles wondered where Scott had been. Scott hadn't been in school the day before, either.
Stiles held up his hands but didn't let go of his backpack. It was awkward but he could also use the backpack as a shield if Scott got out of hand. Hopefully, Scott was at least semi-aware of his surroundings but that wasn't always a sure thing.
"I didn't do anything," Stiles protested. "You're the one who saved Allison."
"Yeah, by giving up my True Alpha spark!" Scott whined.
"I wasn't just me!" Stiles reminded him. "Mr. Argent said that it would work, too, you know."
Scott hesitated with that.
Stiles lowered his voice. "Without you Allison would be dead." He said it softly but firmly. "You saved her life."
"She won't talk to me!" Scott admitted in frustration.
"Dude, she almost died two days ago!" Stiles said. "Give her a chance." Stiles poked Scott in the chest. "Besides, you're dating Kira. What does she say?"
Scott deflated. He took his hands off Stiles. "I haven't talked to Kira."
"She walked away from her mom to be with you and Allison." Stiles rolled his eyes. "She deserves better than you ghosting her."
Scott nodded jerkily. "I... I don't know what to do!" he wailed.
"Talk to Kira. Talk to your mom. Talk to Mr. Argent," Stiles listed. "You need to talk to all of them!"
"Deaton says..."
"Fuck Deaton!" Stiles yelled before taking a breath to calm himself. "He has nothing that I want to listen to. You need to stay away from him."
With that, Scott got a mulish look that Stiles knew well. Scott wasn't going to listen to anything Stiles had to say at this point. Stiles pushed Scott away from him. "I have to go to class."
"How can you just..."
Stiles whirled to face Scott. "I am going to class." He said it firmly. "You should go to your classes." Scott's afternoon schedule was different than Stiles.
"I..."
"Scott. There is nothing you can do right now. Go to class." Stiles turned to go to class. "See you later." Or maybe not.
Stiles hustled out of school after his last class. The weather looked iffy and he wanted to get home before the storm let loose.
Then something in him knew how to stop the storm, if he wanted. But that there would be consequences somewhere else. Nature required a trade-off. Put off a storm in one place and something -- maybe worse -- would happen in another.
That stopped Stiles cold. Power like that was... scary. The Nogitsune had told him to believe but... this was unbelievable!
Stiles watched the rain from his bedroom window.
Red eyes flashed at him from the tree outside the window.
"Geez. You can use the front door, you know!" Stiles called. "Just like anyone else."
The eyes blinked.
"Yes, you! The front door!" Stiles shut the window then opened it a crack. "And you're staying for dinner!"
