Lev doesn’t bother looking at his phone. Instead, he turns to look Yaku directly in the eyes, a focused expression adorning his features. Yaku hears his own heart beat as clear as day.
“I think. . . that no one up there tonight was as stunning as you,” Lev says at a whisper.
Yaku exhales, slow and heavy. “You were supposed to say too short.”
