Chapter Text
It was a cold and bitter Friday evening. The clouds above filled the skies with a hazy, gloomy fog. On a day that seemed so sluggish and stale, did a rush of adrenaline run through out the streets of the city.
Sleek black helicopters soared from above, the blades spinning so fast they could slice the air. Following after them were multiple vans of the same color, cookies in the back sticking their head and hands out of the window, locking focus on them with machine guns and assault rifles.
Under the street lights of that lit the darkening sky was a hot pursuit, as they all chased after a pair of homosexuals running up the freeway.
The suspects continued to dash onward, going at precisely sixty miles an hour on their feet. Their fucking feet. And one of them wasn't even wearing any goddamn shoes. Out of the corner of your eye, the most you could make out was a blur of a very bright orange and a subtle green beside it. Though as they focused into view, you could make out that the orange one had a bright flame atop its' head, and the other carried a bow, a long scarf made of a wrapped blade of grass flying in the wind.
Some could say these were the legendary cookies of the fire and forest, but, how could that be, really? Surely such powerful cookies would have much better things to do than escape the FBI. But not to snuff out the possibility in full, since one is rather well known for causing trouble.
Ah, but who would really ever know at this rate? They seemed to be outrunning both the 'copters and the vans...
The duo made it off the highway, a steep hill followed off the sight of the road in general. The burning one pulled the arm of the archer, starting to head down there.
"C'mon, this way!"
Without letting his partner get an input, he'd pull him down with him as they rolled down the hill, getting several grass burns in the process.
As they reached the bottom, they both could finally catch their breath. Neither of them even moving from that spot for a long while.
The green one coughed, looking with a glare of contempt at the other, who still gave an exhausted smirk like he didn't regret a thing.
"Hey, Windy..."
"What."
"That was...so fucking cool...we've got to do that again sometime!..."
Wind Archer was out of energy, but never too much as to not be able to bitch slap Fire Spirit.
"-OW-?!" Fire Spirit screamed like a little girl, covering the newly forming bruise.
"We have been...on the run for three hours...risking our lives for something you caused...and you take it as a JOKE?!"
"Is it really wrong to want to introduce you to my hobbies?~"
Wind Archer turned away from him, sitting up, "I should not have expected any better than you but to stall our visit with your crimes on the day the focus is on Sea Fairy for once."
"Sea Fairy is a loser. She doesn't deserve my presence at her birthday party!"
"You're right, she doesn't. I assume you feel this way because you never had one, right?"
"...Tch. I don't need a party! I'm celebrated every day, hah!"
"...By whom?"
"..."
"...Well?"
"...I'm going to choose not to answer that!"
They both looked up to the sky. No cars or helicopters in sight.
"...Either way, think we lost 'em!"
"That would be a good thing...if we knew where we were."
"Well, we could always scope out our surroundings! You're pretty good at that, right?"
"...I suppose."
...Huh. Weird. How exactly did these dumbasses end up in this situation?
It all started that same morning, where everything seemed...calmer.
