HELLO EVERYONE!!
I've had a lot of fun making Christmas gift fics like this one in the past, so I decided to bring it back for you, my fantastic readers of the DSMP world!! Please make sure to read the rules and instructions in full before requesting your prompt :)
Instructions:
Comment your prompt/idea on this first chapter with as much or as little detail as you'd like! Just keep in mind that whatever you don't specify will be left up to my personal creative interpretation so if there's something you absolutely want more than anything else be sure to include it!
No particular request format required, and it can be about different characters than the ones listed in the tags. I just included the tagged characters because I'm most often writing them and thought most of my readers will also be focused on them. Also I didn't want to list every single character in the DSMP universe lol.
When I post your story, I will add it as a separate work as part of a series. It will not be included in this explanatory work, so don't only subscribe here if you write a request! Make sure to subscribe to (or at least regularly check back on) the full series! I do this because I want to be able to physically gift the work to the prompter if they have an AO3 account. If you are uncomfortable being indicated as the gift recipient please be sure to say that somewhere in your request.
Rules:
I will not write romantic/sexual relationships. Platonic/familial only. I don't feel super comfortable writing romance, even if it is completely non-sexual or between two consenting adults. I will write characters that are already in irl relationships with one another (like Antfrost and Velvet) but their relationship can't be the primary focus of the fic. Crack prompts are also fine as long as none of the characters experience legitimate romantic feelings for one another.
Example of what is okay: Dream and Karl accidentally get married in Vegas and Sapnap is the annulment lawyer.
Example of what is not okay: Phil and Kristen are romantic soulmates and go on their first date.

Prompts will be filled up to 1k words, and no less. While there's a chance I'll get carried away or really enjoy one particular request and end up writing more, it's not a guarantee, so please try not to request anything that will take up an entire novel's worth of wordcount. You can suggest a longer fic idea for me to review and see if I want to take it further, but that is not the purpose of this gift work, and thus it won't be filled here. However, it is my promise that I will write at least 1000 words for your request no matter what—and you'd be surprised at how far a 1k word story can go! I hope I'll be able to satisfy everyone with this.
Example of what is okay: Sam finds a locked box stashed in the floorboards of his house. He spends an entire afternoon trying to pry it open, only to find out that it's a music box that Tommy is making for him as a surprise. It plays the Able Sisters.
Example of what is not okay: When Purpled is a baby he [insert long and exhaustive backstory here with multiple plot points] and then when he turns four all of a sudden [insert even more exhaustive backstory plot points] so he decides to team up with Punz who he meets after [I think you're starting to get the idea] and then at Purpled's tenth birthday party he [blah blah blah...] and it ends when he finally turns four thousand years old and retires as a dragon tamer.
Once again, prompts can be as detailed as you want, as I understand there's a need to establish certain in-universe aspects to any story, especially one that takes place in an original AU, but just try to think realistically and make sure everything can be mostly summed up into an average-length oneshot.
Please don't just ask me to update one of my already posted fics. I have a schedule and outline for those already written out. It's fine if you want me to write a little spinoff in the same universe as a previously posted work of mine! If you have an idea you're not sure about, feel free to ask and I'll keep an eye on my inbox and reply as quickly as possible. My twitter PMs are also open anytime if you're too shy to comment/don't have an account.
Example of what is okay: a Dream-centric slice-of-life story from the Tommy is a Gift universe.
Example of what is not okay: Post an epilogue chapter to perhaps i lack some foresight (should have known).

I will write almost anything you can think of. If your prompt includes a lot of angst/whump/dark themes that you're not sure about, feel free to PM me on twitter or just comment it anyways and I'll let you know, but in essence, I am comfortable writing most things!! So long as they don't explicitly cross a CC's boundaries or my own (i.e. romantic/sexual relationship dynamic content) you will most likely be in the clear. Yes, I will write Reader-inserts. Yes, I will write angst without a happy ending. Yes, I will write Major Character Death. Yes, I will write morally repugnant characterizations. Just be mindful of the boundaries I and the CCs have put forth and we will be absolutely golden!
Example of what is okay: C!Tommy actually commits suicide off the exile tower and it causes Ghostbur to dissociate so hard his physical form is completely obliterated. He's then forced to wander through time endlessly estranged from both living reality and the limbo that would let him see his brother again. Prompt is snapshots of the rest of the world going by without him.
Example of what is not okay: [insert any character here] is sexually abused and goes through a recovery arc.
The prompt must be closely related to the DSMP universe!! I will write crossovers/AUs within a reasonable margin but if your crossover request requires an intimate knowledge of the secondary fandom involved I will probably have to decline. If a quick wikipedia search, general knowledge, or just a brief summary included in your prompt text can suffice for what is needed to write it then that's fine! But please don't request characters from beyond the DSMP (aside from those closely related to the CCs, such as Kristen or Sniff).
Example of what is okay: Hogwarts AU where Tommy gets sorted into Slytherin and is 100% convinced it's all a big misunderstanding. See, he wasn't wearing his lucky bowtie is all! Meanwhile, Slytherin Prefect Dream is just trying his best to get the new obnoxiously funny first year to help him pull a prank on Technoblade to show his true Slytherin colors.
Example of what is not okay: Lance from Voltron takes the TARDIS on a joyride into the DSMP except instead of meeting Dream, Lance discovers that the head of the SMP is none other than Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen himself! Also they all have lightsabers. And Gojo has red hair instead of white and can mind control animatronics (FNAF crossover).
That's all I can think of for now... I hope I didn't miss anything, and I hope somebody comments because it would be real awkward if I just posted all this for nothing aha :') Once again, ALL my love goes out to you readers. Every single comment I find on one of my works just makes me melt into a thousand gushy pieces. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and congrats on making it through finals/the autumn school semester in general if you don't celebrate the aforementioned holidays!!!!
