Ikaris was staring at the children running around in the snow, scooping it up into balls and flinging it at each other. He wondered if this was one of those Christmas things they enjoyed. It was strange, seeing so much red and green around the city and people singing songs in the snow. He never expected to see such joy on this day.
FWIP!
The blonde flinched as he heard laughter, turning his head around to see Sersi smiling at him with a mischievous look on her face. "Sersi!" He cried out.
"I couldn't help it, you were just standing there like a statue, after all."
Ikaris rubbed the side of his head. "That was cold, Sersi."
Sersi clicked her tongue. "Aww, poor Ikaris~" She cooed coyly. "Do you want to go inside and get warm?"
Ikaris sighed and shook his head as Sersi then began to lie flat on the snow and moved her arms and legs about. "Now what are you doing?"
"Making a snow angel."
"A snow angel?"
"The children love doing it, and I can see why," Sersi then got up and looked at the angel-like imprint on the snow, smiling. She turned to Ikaris, looking at his expression. "Fine, let's go inside, then." The two Eternals headed back to the house, Sersi's arm around his.
Reaching the front door and heading inside, Sersi spotted something hanging above the living room doorway. "Look at that."
"What?" Ikaris asked.
"This is another tradition that humans celebrate during Christmas. It's my favorite."
"Favorite? What do you-" Ikaris was silenced as Sersi kissed him, the two of them standing under the mistletoe and the warmth embracing their bodies. It felt like an eternity before Sersi pulled her lips away. "Do you like it?"
Ikaris was at a loss for words. A mere plant hanging above them, and people kissed each other underneath it? He had to admit, the idea was starting to appeal to him, especially when Sersi kissed him like that.
"Believe me, I'm starting to come around to it."
Sersi smiled, then kissed him again. Ikaris kissed back, embracing her in his arms. At least he found a new appreciation for the holiday now.
