Beep… Beep… Beep…
The insistent beeping of the local superhero’s phone dragged the man out of the pleasant dreams that he had been having. He blindly reached a free arm over to the side to shut his alarm up.
“Don’t go,” Chase’s voice deep with sleep followed after Jackie turned his phone off. “Stay with me.”
He tossed his leg and arm over Jackie’s body, clinging to him like a needy octopus in an attempt to stop him from leaving the bed.
Jackie’s breath hitched when Chase began to pepper his throat and bare shoulders with teasing butterfly kisses. He let out a guttural groan when Chase’s hand slyly drifted low to his sensitive bare stomach.
“Tease,” Jackie growled as he flipped them over so that he was pinning Chase underneath him. His boyfriend smirked up at him, eyes still half-lidded from sleep.
“You love me for it~” Chase crooned, squirming underneath his boyfriend. His smirk widened into a grin when he felt a very interesting reaction from the man above him at his movements.
He let out a breathless laugh at the answering low growl while Jackie pinned him on their shared bed tighter.
“You—” Jackie bared his teeth at his bemused Chase before the mood was cut off as the unmistakable screech of glitching filled the room.
“Hey dumbass, it’s—Well, hello there,” anybody could feel the leer in Anti’s voice as his voice turned from annoyed to a now very intrigued tune, “don’t stop on my account~”
Chase burst out laughing at Jackie’s extremely disgruntled look. The hero inhaled deep to muster up all his patience and rolled off Chase with a peeved glare which he leveled at Anti’s unrepentant grin.
“Aw. Already done? I could always join if you want to continue,” Anti cooed, reaching a hand towards Jackie and whipped it away a millisecond before the peeved ego swiped at him. “ Mean .”
“You could join if you’ve been a good boy,” Chase teased back (ignoring the half-hearted wounded “ Babe ” from Jackie beside him), scooting close to Jackie’s side to pat the other empty side as an invitation to Anti who plopped down on it shamelessly.
“Didn’t you come here to tell me something,” Jackie was pouting like a child whose parents just told him he couldn’t have another cookie.
“You, the super responsible local superhero, just missed his patrol time,” Anti cheerily said, “Now shoo. I wanna cuddle with Chase, you greedy sourpuss.”
Chase looked at the older ego with a raised brow when he grabbed his free arm and clung to it like a leech.
“I know where you sleep,” Jackie threatened Anti who stuck his tongue out at him while the glitchy ego latched himself to Chase. “Fucking cockblocker.”
Still, reluctant as he is to part from the warm side of his boyfriend, Jackie slipped out from underneath the blankets. He knows that the city needs him but at times like these, he wished that he could just leave the superheroing to others. It’s not like he’s the only superhero in the city.
Chase’s hand snapped out in a flash to grab Jackie’s hand before he went too far. His boyfriend looked down at him with a questioning blink and Chase gave him a dopey lovesick smile before he leaned over to brush a gentle kiss over Jackie’s scarred knuckles.
“Have a good patrol, hero. And come home in one piece to us, Jackaboy,” said Chase, his voice softened with adoration, “Love you, Jackie.”
Jackie flushed and cleared his throat, looking away from Chase’s endearing puppy dog eyes before his self-control crumbled and he jumped back into the bed to join the duo. His eyes burned with his fluster.
“I love you too, sweetheart,” Jackie looked back and flashed Chase a warm smile before reaching over to painlessly smack Anti’s head. “I love you too, you eternal pain in my ass.”
“Fuck off,” Anti instinctively reacted before perking up, “Is that last part literally or…?”
“As Chaser said, we’ll see when you’ve been a very good boy,” Jackie wryly said as he slipped off his pajama pants to start changing to his suit, ignoring the impressed whistles from the troublemakers on the bed. “Be good, kids.”
“Have fun beating up the idiots out there,” Anti piped up before he slipped underneath the blankets for a nap. “Don’t get your ass kicked by anybody else outside of me.”
Jackie rolled his eyes at Anti’s words, hearing the unheard ‘be safe and I love you too’ from the glitchy ego. He went to the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth to wake him up more.
Just before he went out for his patrol, he decided to give his room another peek and smiled fondly when he saw Anti and Chase completely asleep, snuggled up against each other for warmth.
As he went on his patrol, his heart was warm with the soft memories and gave him the determination to keep their home safe, not only for heroic reasons but for the personal snuggled up reasons back in his bedroom as well.
