Work Text:
On the sink waited one electric toothbrush on its stand as well as a Crimson Riot cup filled with a bunch of colourful ones. To boys just finished brushing their teeth. The redhead throws his used one in the bin next to the sink. His partner rummages in the little toiletry bag until he pulls out a tube of cream and a black piece of plastic with a “ha”. Eijirou smiles and takes the tube from his boyfriend. He kisses the peppermint boy on the nose.
“Thank you. For coming.” Shouto said.
Eijirou shakes his head. “No, thank you. It was such a nice evening. Awkward, but I mean, for the first meal with your family, it went well, dude!”
“Wouldn’t have gone so well without you, I’m sure. Dad and Natsuo still collide more often than not. You helped.”
“Na. I think Hawks defused the tense-ness way more.”
Shouto holds his arm. “Let me say it more clearly: you helped me. I needed you with me.”
Eijirou grins a toothy smile, all shark. He kisses Shouto’s cheek. “Naw, you’re so sweet. Liked to be with you, too. But, I mean, you even asked Fuyumi to cook soft things! That was so thoughtful. Really appreciate it, man. Thanks.”
Shouto shakes his head. The soft after-shower-hair sweeps like a cashmere curtain. “Of course I would. I know how much though food hurts you when the teeth are growing back in.” This earns Shouto a kiss on his brow. The white one. The other teenager is not sure where the red one would be, so he just kisses the one he’s got twice.
“’Preciate it anyway.” His finger taps on the hand that still holds his arm. Shouto doesn’t let go, but instead pulls him closer towards him. They can feel the others breath on their skin. On their lips. They stay in each others warmth, just for a moment. A little anticipation. Then Shouto rises the cold hand, caresses Eijirous soft skin on his neck. He gets goosebumps all over. He himself rests his hands on Shoutos narrow hips, rubbing small circles into the skin. As another hand finds his cheek, Eijirou moves to finally put his lips on his boyfriend’s. he gasps. Somehow, he tends to forget how peculiar Shoutos kisses feel. With body temperature perfectly split, their connection always holds some kind of novelty, even if they have been sharing those for months now. Shouto tastes like cool mint and warm cinnamon, always spicy but never overwhelmingly so.
However, this right here feels different. Bigger than usual. Shouto let him in. Not just physically, but he wanted him to meet his family. To be a part of it. Even the awkward and stiff bits of it. He can’t help it but smile into the kiss.
“What has you smiling?”
Eijirou mock-shakes his head. “You, silly. Always you.” He wipes some hair out of his beautiful, marked face. “Thank you for sharing your family with me.” Shoutos own fragile smile falters. So does Eijirous. Did he say something wrong? “What?”
“I think I love you.” The redhead releases the air he held in. Then he connects both their foreheads.
“That makes to of us. I love you, too, kitten.” He kisses him again. Just a tease, really. Then Shouto peels himself out of the embrace he gets. Eijirou puts the cream on his gums and bites into the plastic a few times until the retainer fits well. He gets pulled into the bedroom next door. Their first night at Shouto’s house. If he weren’t so tired, he’d jump and wiggle of excitement. Instead, Shouto covers them with his blanket. All they can do is watch the stars though his roof window and whisper what constellations they see, until one of them only gets a snore as an answer.
