    “what was the red room like? you never talk about it.” kate whispers against her skin. yelena immediately tenses in her arms, panic rising as kate pulls back to look down at her expectantly. 

    “it’s not easy to talk about.” yelena says hollowly, fingers finding purchase on kate’s arms and squeezing as the girl brushes more hair back from her face. 

    “hey…it’s me, okay?” kate says simply, and truly, it’s all yelena needs to hear. she takes a deep breath in before she just…lets it all out.
