This world had so much to offer. Still does. Shanks saw it every day with each passing second. He had a wonderful mate despite their ups and downs. He had two beautiful children. His baby who was close to having a baby of his own. His other baby finding a person that he loved and treasured. Discovering that Sabo had survived the explosion that had almost taken his life. Being found by Dragon and raised with the Revolutionary Army. His boys were all back together. It made him feel complete.
They finally seemed to have some peace in their lives. After everything that happened at Marineford. His abduction at the hands of Marshall D. Teach. How much shit he had gone through within his long life on the sea. How people would treat him for just being who he was. Now, he was one of the strongest pirates on the sea.
Shanks smiled as he leaned against the upper deck rail of the Moby Dick. Looking down at his children. Ace had a large grin on his face, a hand on the underside of his swollen abdomen, the life that was forming within his very body. Luffy and Sabo were also here. It was getting closer to when Ace would finally give birth, and everyone had decided they wanted to be here. Whitebeard had, of course, opened his ship up to them.
They had finally gone a few months without any conflict. Like the world was at a calm. He sighed, placing his chin onto his palm, looking through the corner of his eye as he heard the approaching footsteps.
Mihawk stood there, looking down at the deck below. Yoru was gone from his back, a simple cloak replacing his normal jacket and a button up shirt on. His hat was on his head like normal, shadowing his eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. The Alpha leaned against the rail next to him, their arms grazing against each other. The Omega felt his smile get bigger as he leaned over, placing his head against Mihawk’s shoulder. The Swordsman reacted, placing his cheek against the top of his head.
“Something on your mind, Shanks?” Mihawk murmured.
Shanks hummed. “Just… thankful.”
A kiss was pressed into the top of his head as the two backed away from the rail. Shanks smiled at his mate, his husband – he would never get tired of hearing that word – as Mihawk’s hand found his waist, pulling him close. Mihawk didn’t say a word to him as he leaned in, connecting their lips for a split second before he was pulling away again.
Mihawk slipped his hand into Shanks’, pulling the Omega along to head down to the main deck. It didn’t take them long before they were up by the boys and Shanks was reaching out to loop his arm around Ace’s shoulders. His oldest leaning into his side, leaning his head on his shoulder.
“I’m glad you’re here, Mom.” Ace whispered. “I don’t think I could do this without you.”
Shanks smiled, pressing a kiss into Ace’s forehead. “Of course, you could but I will always be there if you need me.” The red head replied.
Luffy chuckled, hands behind his head. The Alpha grinning that large grin that Shanks always adored seeing. “You know I wouldn’t miss it. I’m still training but I can’t not be here.”
Ace laughed, grimacing for a second as he rubbed at his abdomen. Shanks eyed him for the moment as the young Omega inhaled sharply. “Are you okay?” Shanks questioned as he pulled away.
Ace nodded, a smile back on his face. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
“He’s been doing that a lot.” Luffy interjected.
“Luffy’s right.” Sabo added. “He’s been doing it most of the morning.”
Their conversation had caught the attention of those around them. Ace almost immediately getting flooded by people coming around him. Rouge had broken through, a grin on her face as she threw a knowing look at Shanks.
“It’s nothing.” Ace stated, holding his arms up. “I’m fine. Just some cramps is all.”
Shanks tilted his head. “How far apart?”
Ace tilted his head up, an almost plea in his eye. “Maybe… every ten minutes.”
Shanks grinned again, looking over to Mihawk to see that same glint in his eyes before he was looking back over. “Ace, those aren’t cramps.”
Denials immediately flew from Ace’s mouth as he shook his head. The Omega’s eyes widening. “No, no… I’m not due for another few weeks.” Ace immediately shot back.
“Honey, we need to get you to the infirmary.” Rouge stated, reaching out and placing her hand on Ace’s upper back.
Ace kept shaking his head as the ones closest caught what they were saying. “Commander Ace is about to have his baby!” He heard Deuce shout. The excited sounds following.
The loud footfalls followed as Whitebeard came looming over their backs. “Do you need anything, son?”
Ace shook his head, “No, cause I’m not in labor.”
Shanks paused as he felt something wet hit his foot, looking down to see the small puddle surrounding Ace’s feet as his son immediately shook his head.
“Ace.” Shanks said, reaching out and placing his hands on either side of Ace’s face. “You are in labor. Your water just broke.”
“I’ll go get Marco.” Sabo stated, pushing through the others, and rushing off. His footsteps getting quieter by the second.
“Let’s go.” Mihawk motioned, “You need to go get settled. This is happening rather you want it to or not.”
Mihawk got Ace to take a few steps before the Commander suddenly stopped, his hand reaching out and grabbing Shanks’ wrist. “Not without you.”
Shanks smiled, “C’mon. Marco will meet us there.” He muttered, ushering Ace towards the cabins. He didn’t necessarily give Ace a choice as he pulled him along. They didn’t even make it to the door before it was busting open, and Marco was standing there with wide eyes. “He’s alright.”
Mihawk stepped away from Ace’s other side, letting Marco take his place as he gave a reassuring smile. “Go have a baby, Ace.” Mihawk stated.
Marco grinned, a smile on his face as he reached out, “You heard him. Let’s go have a baby.”
