Inked Rose

Summary:

D tier works in a small flower shop and S tier runs a tattoo parlor. What will happen when this plant obsessed boy and mysterious artist meet?

I see D tier as a guy so I right them with he/him pronouns. S tier I tend to switch between he/him or he/they from story to story and day to day.

Have I planned anything ahead? No. Am I awake enough to remember I before e except after c? Also no.

Notes:

I apologize for this half asleep mess. I have never written this AU before and it isn't my favorite but I still find it absolutely adorable. I may continue this if there is even anyone that reads it but for now I will be working on what I get the inspiration for.

Chapter Text

It was a fairly regular morning, going through the motions of his normal routine. D tier headed out to work, energetic for some reason, he even woke up early. He worked at a small flower shop, it was decently popular in the little town.

Greeted by his co-workers, D tier started his shift with a smile. Who wouldn't with such a lovely environment? Watering flowers was important and had to be done before the shop opened for the day. It was D tier's job and he did it happily day after day.

At last, the clock struck 7:00 am and the doors were open. Slow day, but relaxing and well appreciated.

A few people came and went, buying flowers. There are so many types and people love them, D tier included. The day concluded with D tier giving bouquets to people, getting complemented a couple times, and even overhearing some girls talking about him in hushed tones. The last one actually made him a bit uncomfortable, those girls had no filter and looked to be 13-14.

Just like that, it was 8:00 pm. The shop closes a bit late but oh well, not a big deal. D tier took a flower home, it was wilting a bit and a coworker wanted to discard of it since they claimed nobody would buy it. It was still so pretty, D tier was going to take care of it.

Once at home, he set it in a pot of fresh soil and put it with his other plants, he had a lot. The living room was covered in vines and flowers of all kinds. Must come with the job, and his love of plants. Roses, lilies, violets, even dandelions scattered across his windowsill and shelves.

D tier rested and ate in the living room instead of the kitchen because he's an adult who can make his own decisions, damnit! He had chicken nuggets and watched some random show on tv for almost an hour. The sun was gone, stars filled the dark sky already, giving a gentle glow. The full moon was a beautiful sight, and the way it reflected off of the reds, yellows, purples, and blues of the flowers along with the various green of vines was simply stunning.

Time for bed, there was no time for thought or worry, only sleep. D tier headed to his bedroom, it was cluttered but not too bad, he was still able to walk around in it without any problems. Quickly getting changed into his pyjamas, he snuggled up in bed. His apartment wasn't big or luxurious, but it was home, and it was all D tier needed. Even more Flowers coated this room, honestly, his apartment may as well be a second flower shop. He slept peacefully, the sheets were worn but still soft, and it was pleasantly warm.

That wilting flower was still there, unsurprisingly. Right on the window sill waiting for when D tier finally awoke. He rolled out of bed reluctantly. D tier avoided getting dressed as if it were the plague, he stayed in his night clothes for as long as possible. Eventually, it was unavoidable, he had to get ready for the day. Light blue jeans and a plaid flannel, simple but looked good on him. Although his clothes would end up covered anyway by the apron he had to wear at work. Breakfast was nothing special, he didn't want to cook anything. A glass of chocolate milk and ego's was all D tier needed today, well, that and the granola bar he had on the way to work.

Nothing significant today, long hours passed agonisingly slow. D tier spent a good bit of time on his phone, praying that his boss wouldn't notice. He just didn't wanna deal with the drama that that would cause.

Pretty plants, petunias were popular today. It seems that everyone was buying them. D tier went to the break room, he needed to get a few small things done before leaving. That's when he heard people whispering, they sounded too excited to notice that their attempts to be quiet were in vain. Fan girling filled the room so quickly it was as if they were put under a spell. Why not check it out? All the girls were talking about some hot guy that was apparently in the shop. D tier left the break room and saw him, he was very good looking. He was dressed formally, and looked well kept. He was looking at a red rose that was by the door. D tier really felt like he should have done more this morning, this mysterious person was definitely a 10/10.

Nobody had the courage to go up to him, he had an alluring yet intimidating aura. Finally, D tier went up and spoke to him, trying not to die inside as he gave him the rose that he was looking at.

"It's on the house, just take it-"

He cut himself off as soon as he said that, not trusting himself enough to say any more.

"Well thank you, it's lovely."

His voice was beautiful, one that you could get lost in for eternity. For a moment, D tier did, he spaced out in those few seconds of pure amazement. Snapping back to reality, he nodded. He was taller and looked even better up close.

The darkly dressed man left without another word. Holy shit, D tier is gay.

Heading home, he was nearly skipping. D was hoping to see that lad again. This crush felt like it will be lasting a lifetime. But then again, someone that attractive is bound to be with someone already.

D arrived home to a rather empty apartment, as usual. Other than plants, he didn't have much. A couch, Tv, bed, dresser, and basic kitchen necessities. It was small but enough to live with, he didn't spend much time home anyway. D was usually at work, and days off were to be with friends or sleeping in.

The kitchen was cluttered and needed to be cleaned up. He started on dinner anyway, knowing that if he took the time to clean he wouldn't have any energy left. Tonight was instant ramen. He had something of an addiction to the stuff and it was cheap, quick, and easy to make.

He watered his flowers and passed out, dreaming of that guy he saw at work. Simp.
