Work Text:

---
"Can animatronics be cold?"
You asked, looking at the decaying robot sitting on your bed. He seemed to be confused by this. "I'm not sure. I'm always cold. I'm dead." The thought made your heart drop to the pits of your chest, remembering that he wasn't really alive. Half of the time he moved and talked just as if he were a living, breathing person like you or anyone else. You'd grown quite attached to him so it hurt to dawn on the fact that this was technically a corpse in a rabbit suit.

"I could wrap you up in blankets!" You offered, giving him a warm smile. He seemed to let out what sounded somewhat like a chuckle. "Sure, knock yourself out, doll." You grinned at the affectionate nickname and grabbed a warm fleece blanket from your bed, gently draping it over his shoulders and adjusting it to where it fit snugly around him. "Warm?" you prompted.

Springtrap paused for a moment, questioning whether or not he actually felt warm. "Maybe..." His answer sounded unsure.

You nodded, grabbing another soft blanket from your bed. It was a snowy white and it looked a bit misplaced upon the ragged animatronic's fur, but he didn't seem to mind. "What about now?" you asked, looking up at him curiously.

"Still not warm." Springtrap answered after a short pause. Now you were becoming stumped. The two blankets he wore were pretty thick, so there was no reason he should still be cold. "I have one more blanket, do you wanna try that?" you said. He gave what you assumed was a shrug.

You put on the other blanket; an incredibly heavy purple blanket that almost pained you to lift. Springtrap noticed you struggling but didn't bother to help. You held your tongue, biting back an urge to make a sarcastic comment.

You wrapped the third blanket around Springtrap, staring up at him expectantly. He looked down at the blankets, then at you. "Not warm. But I think I know something that could help." You tilted your head, confused. If 3 blankets couldn't help him warm up, what would?

All of a sudden, you felt something snatch you up, and before you knew it, you were in his large arms. He hugged you as tightly to his chest as he could without hurting you. You laughed, burrowing your head into his chest. "Warm now?" you asked playfully.

"Warm."
