Work Text:
Jack and David had been inside all morning, cozy in their sweaters. The whole family (and David) had been warm around the fire, hot cocoa in hand, all morning. David had been typing away at a paper all morning.
"Hey Davey, how about you and I go out for a bit, so you can take a break." Jack mentioned to him.
"Uh, yeah, just a minute," the boy distractedly responded.
"You've been typing away all morning, Dave. You need a break, honey." David basically froze at the nickname. He got up without a word and grabbed his coat.
They went out and were immediately hit with the harsh frozen air. They walked a little way down the driveway without a word, just appreciating each other's company.
"Y'know, you didn't have come outside if you didn't want to I just thought that you needed away from everything in there."
"No, it-it's fine, I love spending time with you," he realized how that sounded and awkwardly added, "Bro."
"Ya sap," Jack said and promptly hit his "friend" with snow.
"Oh, so this is how you wanna do this!" "Yep!"
The two boys played around in the snow for what seemed like hours until David fell into the powdery white snow below them.
"Hey, are you okay?" Jack yelled, laughing and running over to him. He sat next to him, saw his red face, and thought he looked adorable.
"Yeah, just cold," he giggled.
Jack looked at him seriously, "I know a way to warm you up." David's eyes widened, and he awkwardly folded into himself. Jack realized, "Oh god, no, not that, I just going to kiss you!"
Davey, still surprised, was a lot more comfortable than the last possible situation. He quickly went back to reality as Jack grabbed his face and lightly kissed. And Jack was right it did warm him up.
Jack stopped and leaned back to look at the beautiful man in front of him. Now he couldn't tell if the red on his face was from the cold, or the blush that had crept up onto his face.
David leaned to lay their foreheads together. They sat in the snow for a few minutes, just lying in peace, keeping warm in each other's company.
"Y'know what would be funny?" Jack asked. "Hmm?"
"If I just hit you with a snowball right now."
"Jack Kelly, I swear to Go-" He was immediately hit, directly in the face, with snow.
