Davey can't help but see himself in her, and a new friendship blossoms...
Well, this fic came out of me loving Ben Fankhauser, so I'm gonna be referencing his vocal prowess as well XD The title is a reference to a Stevie Wonder song :) I tried my best to research the historical background of the setting & characters too.
Minor warnings: The boys get into scuffles & my OC gets into a little violence in the street.
The story follows the events of the Newsies' strike and Jack Kelly's victory over Pulitzer. Enjoy!! :)

Summary
Everyone knows to stay away from the Grays.
No one can explain where they came from despite endless theories. The facts they do know are simple: enormous domes of fog scattered around the world without rhyme or reason, blossoming from nowhere and swallowing everything within. It was a dark and stormy night and a motorcycle roared by outside the lodging house, and they all rushed to the windows to see who it was. Who would be out at midnight in the pouring rain, and on a motorcycle? To everyone's surprise it was Spot Conlon. He never came to Manhattan not really. Him and Jack got into fights a lot even though they'd call themselves friends. They more often than not asked for favors and didn't talk again until the other one needed a favor repaid back.
They were all surprised when Spot marched his way inside like he owned the place, a couple of the other Alphas in the room grumbling and growling moving to protect their Omegas or Betas. "Where is he?" Jack stepped forwards before anyone could say anything, "he's locked himself in his room, please i dont know what else to do!"
They all ran upstairs only to find the door locked, and two minutes later when spot had picked the lock stared in horror as Spot fell to his knees clutching a bloody Race and screaming for them to call an ambulance
