“Well, if Jack trusts it...” Spot laughs. “Look, our Jacky, he trusts anything with a pretty face and a good performance of conviction. 'S the problem with your 'Strike'. He trusts his kids to see it through, but why? They don't got his blood in their veins, so they ain't family, and he ain't got their blood on his fists, so they ain't afraid. Your strike is gonna begin and end with those of you fool enough to send him back the trust he puts in you.” He looks Davey up and down, a drawn-out motion that has the words pretty face ringing in Davey’s ears. “Here's hoping you’s smarter than that, Mouth.”
