A motorcycle roared by outside the lodging house, and they all rushed to the windows to see who it was. who would be out at midnight in the pouring rain? To everyone's surprise it was Spot Conlon. He never came to Manhattan; he knew better with the territory situation than to ever step foot in Manhattan. They all rushed downstairs to ask why he was there, and maybe start a fight since clearly he was looking for one. They all crowded around him, and they started shouting questions at him. Jack pushed his way to the front his arms crossed and looking pissed.
"Why are you here?"
Spot's eyes scanned across the crowd, before sighing heavily. "Where is he?"
"Where's who?"
"Racetrack Higgins."

Racetrack Higgins was the most annoying person on the planet, but still he seemed to be the only one that could tame the spitfire that was name Spot Conlon.

HOW COULD YOU’SE?” David heard Spot yell at Jack, anger clear in his voice.
Jack didn't respond. Didn’t even turn around. He just clutched the wad of money in his hands like a lifeline, and shuffled away.Immediately, Spot and the Brooklyn newsies tried to go after him, only to be stopped by a couple of police.
David remains frozen.
He could vaguely hear Lou on his right, telling Hotshot to grab some of the littles.
He could see Race holding Spot back by his waist while Arrow tries to take the cane,which Spot was currently swinging at anyone that comes anywhere near him, away, out of the corner of his eye.
He could feel Sarah’s hand on his shoulder.And yet, he remains still, as if he’s forgotten how to move.

Summary
Crimson splattered across the pavement and the boy, barely over 14, fell to the ground with a thud. As his back hit concrete, he felt blood rise in his throat, coughing. The boy inhaled sharply, and he felt sick as he saw glistening clots of his own blood, rimmed with plasma and pooling on the ground. “That’s the last time you be stealing from my shop, blondie.” This caused the blood to come up in a wave, and the boy spat it up over his clothes with an “ack-”. The man spat on the cement, giving the boy a firm kick to the chest. The man was smoking a cigarette, holding it between his fingers and drawing it from his lips as he spoke to the lanky boy.
