"And, there's a lot of reasons why someone'd like you, Davey." he said, setting the letter down on the bed beside him as he began to run his hands through his hair. "I mean, you're funny and you're sweet. You're awkward, but in a cute way, you know? You're always organized and reliable, at least you are for me. Whenever I ask you for help with homework, you're there for me."
Jack wasn't afraid to say stuff like that because he knew how oblivious Davey was. He'd been flirting with him for years now, but Davey never seemed to realize it. It started out subtle, like little compliments or buying his food, but nowadays it'd become clearly obvious to seemingly everyone besides Davey. He's always just assumed this was how friends were with each other. He's had friends before, and he's never done any of this before with them, but I dunno. Davey's an idiot, I guess.

Considering how rough this past winter was, they had definitely withered more. The steel toe cap lifted up from the sole every time he took a step.
