“Do do dun do,” the prisoner sang quietly as she tapped out an erratic rhythm on her knees to accompany her equally erratic ad lib song. She leaned her head back against the wall behind her and looked up into the harsh white lights that beat down on her as she began to tap faster.
The door to her holding cell hissed open as she belted, “dooooooooo,” her voice somehow hit every note in a key that was borderline inhuman. “Does that make a better pre-chorus or bridge,” she asked without looking over. “It’s pretty intense so I’m thinking brid-.”
“Are you Ya Amar?”
She gasped excitedly at the man’s voice as she kicked her legs up and off of the bench to put her feet on the floor and face him. “A Coruscanti! Don’t see many of your kind out this far-” she suddenly stopped as she laid eyes on her interrogator. “Out,” she finished with quiet inquisition. She looked him up and down thoroughly with dark blue eyes as if he were a piece of priceless artwork that she had every intention to waltzing out of a museum with.
She bit the corner of her bottom lip as the Agent clasped his strong hands behind his back authoritatively and looked down his nose at her. The Agent typically, and with frequent success, used his height and stature as an intimidation factor; his accent and deep voice typically helped as well. This time would be no different. He was in a hurry to finish her ‘required intake’ and get back out into the field.
He had better things to do than interview someone so glaringly guilty of their crimes that even a loth cat could indict her with ease.
“I really gotta start getting arrested more often,” she whispered loudly to herself as she leaned back against the wall. “I mean, at least if it’s gonna be you doing it, Agent,” she said with comedic seduction before she kicked one leg over the other and folded her hands behind her head as she leaned back against the wall.
“I’m Agent Kallus with the Imperial Security Bureau,” he sighed with the unconscious annoyance that was typical of his rebel interrogations, especially on Lothal. He hated the outer rim planet as much as he was beginning to hate the woman sitting so casually in front of him.
“And, I am really regretting my career choices right now,” she lamented as her mouth twisted into a grimace of feigned disappointment.
Kallus took in a long, slow breath, “are you Amar or not?”
“Sweetheart, right now I’m whoever you want me to be,” she replied without hesitation.
Unreal.
The woman leaned forward onto her knees, “tell me.”
Kallus looked up from his device expecting the worst.
He got it.
“Is all of ISB as attractive as you or are you an anomaly, hot Kallus, because I am having thoughts right now,” she asked as she dramatized the word ‘thoughts’ and raised her eyebrows.
“You are being charged with a laundry list of serious crimes,” he said as he gripped his datapad so hard he was surprised it didn’t break. “The punishment for almost all of them is execution,” he said matter-of-factly.
“Don’t deflect. It’s rude,” she scolded him in a motherly tone that almost made him throw the device at her.
“Breaking and entering.”
“Light B and E. I’m not an Imp.”
“Aiding and abetting."
“Whoa whoa whoa, I have never gambled once in my life,” she said in sarcastic defense. “Well, unless they look like you. Then I’d definitely start rolling the dice.”
“I can’t help you if you don’t help me!”
“I know, I know,” she sighed heavily as her shoulders fell. She stood and swallowed hard before she wrapped her arms around her chest. up to him which caused him to take an unexpected step backward. She followed and only stopped when she stood close enough to him that he could smell the floral scent of her hair. She slowly looked down and meekly inspected the rank plaque on his cuirass with genuine curiosity, “impressive.”
He looked down at her intently and watched as she ran her fingers delicately across the blue and red tiles before she placed her other hand on the cool metal that protected his chest. She looked up with a smile so sweet that his anger subsided for a single second before she purposefully leaned into his chest and raised up on her tiptoes.
“You’re right,” she whispered so lightly that he barely heard her. “I should help you," she admitted as she walked her fingers up to just above his collar and gently ran her finger over his heated skin, "out of that uniform.”
Kallus angrily stood up straight and pushed her back hard enough that she stumbled.
“My stars. Do you live in the gym?” she asked in mock astonishment as her head tilted and she put her arms across her chest. “Or were you blessed with the good genes,” she clicked her tongue in amused indecisiveness and looked straight at his crotch.
One of the Stormtroopers at the door snort laughed which caused Kallus to spin around on his heel and bark, “why is she not restrained?”
The woman clapped her hands together in front of her chest gleefully, “now we’re talking! It's always the hard asses that have the fun kinks,” she laughed through a look so smug that he almost called to command that he was recommending her execution become a galaxy wide holiday.
She held her hands out to the Stormtrooper and wiggled her fingers wildly as he placed the restraints on her wrists and shoved her back to sitting.
“Ya know,” she started as the trooper resumed his position at the door. “I’m something of an exhibitionist,” she said lowly as she leaned back against the wall. His antagonist lifted her chin as she opened her knees wide. He looked down at his datapad to hide that his face suddenly burned hot with more than rage.
The woman knew exactly what she was doing, and she did it so well that he was tempted to recruit her rather than charge her. Assuming he didn't kill her.
She easily and instantly had him so agitated that he could punch a hole in a wall bare fisted and yet she had also slightly managed to turn him on. For a brief second he considered ordering the two troopers to leave the room.
The woman suddenly leaned over to look behind him as she made sure to elongate her bare neck and let her dark hair fall lightly over the alabaster skin of her collarbone. “You boys want a show,” she asked sinisterly as she casually looked back at the flabbergasted Special Agent in front of her.
He breathed in sharply and puffed out his broad chest before he abruptly stormed over to where she sat.
The move took her by surprise and she barely had time to sit upright before he slammed one fist into the wall just above the crook of her neck and the other just outside of her opposite hip. He held her pinned tightly between himself and the wall behind her as he leaned down to her face and growled breathily into her ear, “you are furiously annoying.”
He felt her smile before she leaned over and let her cheek lean into his, “I know.”
Lightening shot through every nerve in his body as she kept her face gently against his. He refused to move and he knew that she knew it because she was the one to pull away first, just enough to fit her nose into his own. His lips parted and he took a long few seconds before he whispered against her mouth, “let me get you out of this.”
She sighed quietly before he almost whimpered, “please.”
He felt her shake her head ever so slightly, “How? I was hiding an entire rebel cell in my house.”
“Just tell me that they were holding you hostage. I can easily put that into my report and argue on your behalf,” he coached her as he let the tip of his nose lightly tap hers.
Her eyes fluttered closed and she hesitated before she continued, “but I went into the city and came back willingly and without reporting them. It’s complicity which makes me just as guilty as them, if not more so.”
“They coerced you under threat of harm. I can fix this if you will let me,” he plead quietly. “Please,” he asked with remorseful desperation as he reached up and slowly ran his thumb across her cheekbone.
She instantly melted at his touch and leaned her forehead against his, a stray strand of his blonding hair had fallen against his and tickled his skin with her touch. “You can’t get me out of here, no matter how good you are,” she sighed in defeat as she looked deep into his eyes with fearful regret.
She’s given up, he realized.
He suddenly pushed himself up to standing and crossed his arms across his chest. “I’m really good though,” he said down at her condescendingly, unable to control the exuberant pride in his voice and hazel brown eyes.
She gasped theatrically, “you beautiful bastard! I. Am. Appalled," she yelled, with heavy emphasis on her last word as she placed her hand over her chest in mock disbelief.
Kallus looked down, horrified that her restraints dangled precariously from her single wrist.
“You might be good, but, darling, I’m great,” she teased him just before he fell to the floor.
The Stormtrooper behind him lowered his blaster before he pulled off his helmet. “You know,” Bridger started, “I’ve never seen someone fluster him like that.”
“When you’re old enough, I’ll teach you my skill set,” she joked as she knelt down beside the now unconscious Kallus and gently pushed him onto his back. “He really is too pretty to be wasted on the Empire,” she said with a small but sincere smile as she brushed his hair back behind his ear.
“There are plenty of pretty people for you to torture somewhere else,” Jarrus said over his shoulder as he looked out of the doorway.
“Yeah,” she said quietly before she casually tousled his hair into a chaotic, blonde mess. “Much better,” she whispered before she stood.
Ezra popped his helmet back on as she put her free hand back into the cuffs behind her and walked up to the opened door.
“I’m gonna turn him,” she told them confidently as they led her out into the hallway.
Both men scoffed loudly behind her.
“Yeah, I can totally see him as a Fulcrum,” Ezra snorted.
“Me too,” she whispered to herself.
