"What a beautiful winter morning, isn't it Max?" Sam said as he looked outside at the beautiful, amazing, awe-inspiring, and countless other words used to describe something great, grey, cold, dull, and cloudy winter sky.
"Mmmm." Max grumbled as he walked out in a bathing suit.
"Where are you two going?" Geek said.
"Oh, just to the lake, Max pledged to go dive in the freezing cold water!" Sam said.
"The lake? Really?! I mean I know a lot of old people do that, makes them feel alive. According to them of course." Geek said.
"Well, I lost a bet with your father, and now I've got to do this degrading task in my pink bathing suit." Max said.
"Oh cheer up Max!" Sam said.
"You're not the one who has to dive headfirst into freezing cold water, and possibly die of hypothermia, are you Sam?" Max said.
"Of course not little buddy! I will be wearing a warm coat and a scarf!" Sam said.
"I should have never played that last round of Monopoly with you!" Max said.
"Oh come on Max, I won fair and square!" Sam said.
"Pretty sure there's no automatic win card!" Max said.
"Of course there is little buddy, remember that cursed Monopoly game we played with Death when we were kids?" Sam said.
"Oh yeah!" Max said.
"Well, we better get going, later Geek!" Sam said.
"Don't freeze to death you old geezers!" Geek said jokingly.
"I'm immortal Geek, I'll never die!" Max said as the two left out the front door. Right after Sam closed it, Max began to shiver.
"Jeez Sam, i-it's so freaking cold!" Max said as he cartoonishly shivered.
"Oh tough up Max." Sam said as he lightly slapped Max over the head. The two got into the DeSoto.
"Can I drive Sam?" Max said.
"Knowing you, I'm sure you'll drive us to a hot spring spot all the way in Japan, so no." Sam said as he started the car. The DeSoto revved to life, as Sam backed it up, and drove it at dangerously high speeds, especially for slippery winter roads.
"Well, we're here!" Sam said as the DeSoto finally reached it's location, the local beach, where the lake was.
"Here we are, the beach! The place where ice cream and hot dogs get covered in sand, people get attacked by crabs, and where most drowning happens!" Sam said.
"Ooh, look Sam! This left-over sand castle is frozen solid!" Max said as he poked said sand castle.
"Well little buddy, let's get this over with." Sam said as he and Max went over to a dock.
"Why do I have to wear a bathing suit again Sam?" Max said.
"Well little buddy, there are laws against streaking on this beach, and I don't feel like paying a fine." Sam said.
"Fine..." Max grumbled as they got to the end of the dock.
"Huh, you'd think most of it would be frozen over." Sam said as he and Max looked at the lake, not frozen at all.
"Eh, whatever Sam. Let's get this over with." Max said.
"Alright then, you ready little buddy?" Sam said.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Max said. Sam proceeded to pick up Max, and punted him into the lake.
"Wheeeeee!" Max said as he flew in the air, before hitting the water with a "SPLASH!".
"Well that looks all good." Sam said as he looked at Max struggling to swim.
"Wait..." Sam said as he thought about what was happening. Max was drowning.
"Holy oats on the farm being harvested in cereal with a prize inside! I'M COMING MAX!" Sam said as he dived into the water, and started swimming towards Max. After grabbing Max's unconscious body, he swam back to shore.
"Max!" Sam shouted as he tried to get Max to open his eyes.
"Gonna try CPR!" Sam said as he tried to remember what the people on TV did. He proceeded to try and give Max mouth-to-mouth, when all of a sudden, Max's eyes opened, and he gave Sam a deep kiss.
"Mrph?!" Sam gave a muffled yell as Max continued to kiss him. Eventually, he separated himself from Max.
"My hero!" Max said.
"Max, what the hell was that?!" Max said.
"Oh, I just faked drowning so you'd come in after me!" Max said.
"Wait, so that means-" Sam said.
"Yep, payback baby!" Max said.
"Well, you got me little buddy." Sam said as all of a sudden, the two felt very cold.
"Let's get home before we catch a cold." Max said.
"Agreed." Max said as the two got back in the DeSoto, soaking wet, and made it back home.
"W-w-we're h-h-h-home!" The two shivered as they entered.
"So you both took the plunge, how was it?" Geek said.
"As cold as hell!" Max said.
"Figures. I left towels and fresh clothes out for dad." Geek said.
"Aw, thanks Geek, you're the best!" Sam said as he started to towel himself off.
"We are totally going to catch a cold tomorrow!" Max said.
"I'll go get you two some of the cold medicine I made, it's basically a cure for the common cold." Geek said.
"Ok!" Max said as Geek went into the basement to go get the cure.
"Now what?" Sam said.
"Well, watch brain-numbing TV in front of the fire, that's what!" Max said as he and Sam got out of their soaking wet clothes and sat down. Sam put on the boxers Geek laid out for him, and Max went commando as usual. The two sat down, and Max grabbed the remote, hit the power, and started flipping through channels.
