Running Through Time

Summary:

It was the final battle, the one they had all prepared so very much for, and they were certain they would win it.
They didn't.
And when Bakugou Katsuki thought this will be his end, he was proved wrong and instead launched back to the beginning and told to save everyone.
What the fuck.
~
Or the one where Bakugou is sent to the past and changes everything. After all, the nerd can't fucking die.

Chapter 1: To the past

Chapter Text

Chapter 1: To the past

It was the final battle, the one they had all prepared so very much for, and they were certain they would win it.

(They didn’t)

Bakugou, with the help of Kirishima and Sero, was currently fighting one of the near high-end nomus, which had the fast regeneration quirk all the nomus like it had, in addition to the fact that after a few minutes of fighting it, it also developed an explosion quirk quite similar to his, which led him to believe that it possessed a copying quirk similar to Monoma’s.

On his side, he could see Uraraka, Asui, Kirishima, Jiro, and Ojiro as well as Mirio, Amajiki, and Nejire fighting Toga and some unknown villains, most likely from the paranormal liberation front, who were throwing rocks and cars and buildings on them from all sides, while Toga was laughing hysterically and also bringing havoc on the young heroes.

A bit further, the huge fight between Dabi and his brother and father attracted his eyes with the combinations of fire and ice flying through the air.

Bakugou didn’t know where all his other classmates and heroes were, which was pretty normal considering it was the final fight, and villains and heroes were everywhere.

All he wanted to do however was find Deku and help him fight Shigaraki and All of One.

And he did.

But, as he ran and ran through the explosions and finally saw a glimpse of the epic fight, it wasn’t what he expected to see at all.

“Midoriya!” Kirishima shouted from next to him and ran as fast as he did toward the scene.

On the floor, surrounded by a pile of blood, was lying Izuku Midoriya.

His legs and arms were crushed, his face unrecognizable, but forever the hero, he was still trying to get up and fight.

On the other side stood Sigaraki with a shocked look on his face and All for One smirking.

“Please Tenko, don’t give in to him” Deku was still pleading to him, still refusing to fight.

“You stupid fucking Deku, can’t you see he made up his mind?” He yelled as he approached the fallen hero, while a dozen heroes launched themselves at All for One, yet to no avail.

“No no Kacchan, he was coming along then ouch-, then All for One came and blasted me away,” Izuku replied as he tried to get up, then realized that his legs were crushed.

“Do I look like I give a fuck? You tired your peace treaty and it fucking failed, and since you can’t fight anymore, I guess I’ll have to use my way eh?”

But before he could get up and kill the bastard, he heard a thump.

He turned and was met with the sight of an unconscious Deku, and about a dozen voices shouting the nerd’s name at the sight.

“Oii c’mon Izuku you’ve fought with no legs before; this battle is far from over.” He told him as he came closer to check his pulse.

But then he didn’t find one.

“Hey, you fucker get up already! You’ve fought through harder injuries and got out of it just fine!”

As his tone got louder, he sensed Todoroki running and standing right beside them, having seemingly finished his fight with his brother.

“Bakugou his head is bleeding; we need to get him to safety right now.” And then also kneeled down to check his pulse.

Only then did Bakugou notice that Deku had a head injury, and was losing a lot of blood from both his head and legs.

“No no no we need to get him to recovery girl, no he’s gonna be alright, right Bakugou?” and Todoroki looked at him with teary eyes.

But he couldn’t reassure him, because he needed someone to tell him just that in the first place.

“Right Bakugou?” Todoroki screamed at him this time; voice full of emotion Bakugou so rarely heard of him.

“He he can’t d-die, we still need to fight a-and win, and I still need to tell him so many things. He’s still alive yes?”

At this point, others had come as well.

Uraraka and Lida and Asui and Kirishima and Hagakure and Momo and Aoyama and Kaminari and Tokoyami and-

“NO NO THERE IS NO WAY NO- “That was Mina, who had just arrived at the scene and couldn’t believe it was a reality.

Everyone had tears on their faces, everyone was shocked and speechless.

Class 1-A had forgotten there was a battle around them, and cried and cried for their friend, which led to a disaster.

The pro-heroes had no idea what had happened, and they couldn’t come to check as they were busy fighting.

And so, without anyone noticing, All for One had come at the young grieving students.

First, it was Aoyama, as revenge for betraying him.

Koda and Shoji had seen it, but before they could act on it, they were killed too.

Then Kaminari, Jiro, Sero, Mina, and Tokoyami had attacked him but were all hit by a powerful magnetic wave that struck them to a nearby wall, instantly killing them.

Mineta, Ojiro, Sato, Hagakure, Momo, and Ida tried a coordinated attack of their own, but it ended in their immediate deaths as well.

“Run! We can’t win against him!” Uraraka yelled at the rest, but only Asui seemed to hear her and get up.

The remaining three seemed in a kind of trance, and no one could get to them.

The two girls couldn’t leave them, and so they looked at each other, smiled sadly, and ran at All for One.

They managed to stall him for a few minutes, but in the end, were eliminated too.

At the same, Kirishima seemed to have snapped out of it and took the other two’s hands and forced them up.

“No” was all Todoroki said as he reached to Midoriya’s body.

“C’mon he wouldn’t want u to die, he would want you to keep fighting, to keep living.” Kirishima reasoned but Todoroki shook his head.

“No, he can’t die, I still need to tell him I love him, I need to get him to safety, please” He pleaded and Kirishima’s eyes filled with more tears.

“I know that man, we all do, I’m pretty sure he knew too. We’ll get his body later. For now, let’s get out of here and get reinforcements.”

But Todoroki got out of his grasp, sat down next to Deku, and took his hand.

“Todoroki you’re gonna die too if you stay here, Midoriya wouldn’t- “

“I know that, but if he’s gone, I don’t want to live anymore, I want to go with him. You go Kirishima, and take Bakugou with you.”

Kirishima wanted to keep fighting, but a deep voice interrupted him.

“As sweet as this is, I’m afraid I’m going to have to interrupt it.” And he shot a laser at Kirishima, followed by a strong electric current that rendered the boy unconscious and most likely dead.

He then turned to Todoroki, who only whispered: “Please kill me already”

Instead, All for One walked to where Todoroki was kneeling and put his hand on the boy’s head, and the latter’s face scrunched up in pain.

“Ah two in one, how useful indeed”

As he finished taking the fire-ice quirks and Todoroki dropped unconscious, he finally turned to Bakugou.

Before Kirishima had fallen victim to All for One, he had thrown Bakugou under a destroyed building, in hopes of saving him, but unfortunately, Bakugou was still in shock and couldn’t process what was happening around him.

All for One came closer to him, but he didn’t attack.

“Bakugou Katsuki, will you join us this time? It’s either that or you die”

Bakugou very rarely cried, yet this time he couldn’t stop the single tear that had fallen down his face.

He couldn’t stop the wavering of his voice as he shouted at the villain standing in front of him

“You fucking murder my friends and then you fucking expect me to join you. How fucking dumb is your brain?”

But All for One only chuckled at his response and shrugged.

“I thought it was worth a shot, oh well I’ll make this quick”

Bakugou closed his eyes, preparing for the final blow and resigning to his fate, just like all the others.

Surprisingly, it didn’t happen.

Instead, a very familiar dark-haired man stood in front of him, shielding him.

This was the last person he had expected to see at that moment.

“You broke your promise to me. You killed him.” The man said and backed up to stand closer to where Bakugou sat, still in shock.

“You should have known I would. It’s been over a decade, I expected you to forget and move on. You were never really sentimental.”

“Forget? Never. I left for his own safety, and now he’s gone. I have no reason to not stand in your way anymore.”

And in one swoop, the man turned to Bakugou, held him over one shoulder, and jumped around far away from the battle scene.

“What are you doing here you fucker? You left for years and then fucking show up too late” Bakugou questioned after he was let down.

They were atop a tall building, and the man had sat down on one end, staring at the sky.

“It’s not too late, not yet. Had you too been killed, then yes it would be too late. I have a way to bring everyone back, but I’m afraid you will have to do all the work yourself. This truly is a last resort plan, but if executed correctly, everyone will be alive and well.”

“What the fuck are you talking about? All for One won. The nerd is dead and nothing can change that!” He yelled and approached the man, grasped his shirt, and forced him to look at him.

“Yes, there is one way.” Then he looked at a weird clock on his wrist and looked at Bakugou again.

“There isn’t any more time to explain, but you’ve always been smart. You’ll know what to do. You must prevent this battle from ever happening and beat All for One. You mustn’t tell anyone what happened here. And you must save Izuku Midoriya and Class 1-A. You must change the past and therefore the future. You have only one shot. I trust you with this mission, Bakugou Katsuki.”

And before Bakugou could comprehend his words, the man took the hero’s hands in his, his eyes glowed with a strange golden color, and he felt the world turn black.

What felt like hours later, Bakugou Katsuki woke up tied up to a chair, in an all too familiar position.

The league of villains was lounging around in a very familiar bar.

Mr. Compress, Kurogiri, Dabi, Toga, Twice, Spinner were all looking at him, as if expecting him to wake up at that very moment.

Wait, Kurogiri? Mr. Compress? How were they there?

And then, only when Shigiraki had appeared and said the same words he had months ago did Bakugou realize the situation he was in.

He was in the past. No one had died yet.

What the actual fuck.
