Love, what is love? People say love is when two people touch each other's soul, love is honesty and trust, love is helping each other, respect each other, love is the connection of two hearts. For Taehyung love is all of this, for him love is family, marriage, for him love is finding your soulmate and feeling complete, for him love is everything. He hasn't found his soulmate yet, but he believes he is out there somewhere and that’s who he is going to marry. Yes, a “he”, from his childhood Taehyung has known he was into boys, he was never interested in girls, while he knows many girls liked him, he never felt attracted to them. People often ask him how he came out to his parents and his friends, luckily all of them know him well so he never had to say anything. One day his mother came and asked if he had any boyfriend and Taehyung's whole world stopped. He looked at his mother and she looked back, ”I know you like boys, there is nothing wrong with that honey, you are allowed to love whoever you like”, his mum's eyes were full of love he could see it.
”D..does dad know?” He was shaking and almost crying, he didn’t want to look at his mother and see her reaction. His dad is very very strict, he does not take shit from anyone, he likes his things organized and perfect. Taehyung knows he is not perfect but he loves his dad and wants to be perfect for him, he was scared that his dad will find out Taehyung is gay and not like him. He finally looked up a bit to see what his mother’s reaction was.
Her eyes were sad and Taehyung felt it, he felt that his dad knows but is not going to accept him. ”He knows honey, everyone knows, we know, your grandparents know and all of your friends know, and we all love you. I mean why wouldn’t we? It is now wrong, we just want you to find the right person, and if it is a boy then there is nothing wrong with that, as long as he makes you happy.” His mother’s eyes were so full of love, she couldn’t control her tears and even he couldn’t anymore, he felt so happy and so relieved, from that day he knew how lucky he was and that everyone loved him so much. He was not scared anymore and he could finally be who he was in front of everyone. This was 2 years ago.
Lots of things have happened in two years. He started feeling closer with his family and his friends and he had a boyfriend. Yes he had, because they broke up a month ago because Taehyung wanted to have sex after marriage and his boyfriend didn’t want to wait that long. When they broke up Taehyng felt like his whole world ended, how can someone just breakup if you love someone, and that also because of sex. He knows his family and his friends didn’t like his boyfriend, Jimin even called him ”asshole” or ”stupid horrible dickhead” Jimin never liked his boyfriend, nor did Jin and Jungkook. His three best friends hated his boyfriend, well now ”ex boyfriend”, and he should have listened to them saying how bad he was. Well, a month has passed and he is feeling better because he has his family and friends that love him.
”Taehyung” heard his dad call him from downstairs in the living room.
He stood up, removed his books and closed his computer and went downstairs. ”Yes dad”. He looked at his dad, he looked nervous, he was fidgeting with his phone and couldn’t even keep his legs still. Taehyung looked up and saw his mother was on the side of the sofa and she also looked scared. Taehyung started to feel nervous, has something happened? Are they divorcing? Has he done something bad? ”What is it? You both are scaring me, please say something?”
”Tae, honey please sit down, we need to talk to you and tell you something”. His mom looked really scared and she started to walk towards his dad and sat next to him. ”Please sit honey, we want to tell you something, and before we start please know we love you and we would never do anything that is bad for you okay? We love you a lot and please try to see everything with an open mind, okay? Please Tae!”
He sat down and looked at his parents and how nervous they were, ”’Yes, I will. Please tell me fast, you both are scaring me, has something happened? Did I do something wrong? What is it just tell me”
He looked at his parents who were looking at each other. ”Okay, so you know my business partner Min Jun and his son Min Yoongi right?” His dad asked.
”Yes dad I know them, what about them?” He loves his dad’s business partner, he was his dad’s best friend and his uncle who always looked at him as his own son, Tae also saw him as a father and respected him like a father. Yoongi on the other hand is horrible, he is a flirt and sleeps with a different person every different night it feels like. He is rude, he has a big attitude that he is proud of, he thinks he is always right and he thinks he owns everyone. Tae has not seen him speak nicely to anyone, ever! One time Tae was at his dad’s office party where uncle Jun and Yoongi were, he felt like he should say hi to Yoongi because he is the son of his dad’s best friend, but no, Yoongi gave him the biggest attitude and just ignored him and left. Now Taehyung doesn't hate anyone but he definitely does not like Min Yoongi.
”So, uncle Jun and your mum and I were talking about Yoongi and how he doesn't take his life seriously and how we can help him settle down.” His dad looked at him “W…We…We really like Yoongi and he is a nice guy that cares for everyone and he loves his family a lot”.
He looked at his parents and wondered what had got them so nervous. Tae rolled his eyes taking in what his dad just said, Yoongi and a nice guy, HA when did that happen, are his parents blind? “So you were talking about Yoongi? And? What does that have to do with me? Dad? Mom? what is it? Why are you both so nervous? If you want to say something then just say, I am listening” he said hoping his parents will calm down. Seeing them nervous is making him scared.
“So you know how Yoongi is a nice guy right? After his mother died, uncle Jun and Yoongi have lived on their own, uncle Jun is Yoongi’s both mother and father, he loves his son very much and we also love him very very much”
“Yes dad I know, now tell me what it is? Just say something and stop talking around stuff, just say what it is.”
His mother looked at him, she made eye contact with him and he knew that whatever the things they want to say are big. “So we and uncle Jun were talking about our family and how we all are a family, but also how we should be a family for real”.
“What do you mean mom?” What were they trying to say? what can be so big that is making his parents nervous.
“We talked about you and Yoongi, and how you both should get married”.
“You did WHAT?” He couldn't believe his parents, what are they thinking suggesting this, how can they even think that or even ask him that. Don’t they know what love and marriage means for Tae, he has always talked about it with everyone, his family, his friends, everyone. Love is his dream, Tae has promised himself that whoever he will marry will be his life partner for life, he will make sure of it. “ Why would I just get married with anyone and that also without love? How can you even think that and that also with Yoongi? Is he even gay?”
“He is not gay but he is bisexual. We and uncle Jun think it is a great idea Tae, we both will be a big family, we love Yoongi, we think he is perfect for you.*
“You know that Yoongi is horrible right? He is so mean to everyone, he talks rudely, he sleeps around a lot, he is just not my type mom!”
“We know honey, but people can change right?”
You know? Mom, dad you know? And still you want me to marry him? What is wrong with you both?
“Out of everyone we know you will be perfect for him, Taehyung he is good for you”. Tae couldn’t believe his parents, he looked at them and just saw them trying to hide something, there must be a reason for his parents to ask him to marry that ashole. His parents would never ever even think about arranging a marriage for him if it is not for a reason, he just knows they are hiding something.
“Mom, Dad.” He controlled his emotions and made his voice steady,”what is the real reason you want me to marry him? I know you both and if there is not a reason, you both would never arrange this, so tell me honestly and don’t hide things from me”
He saw his dad take a deep breath and started crying, never has he seen his dad cry. Never in his whole 26 years of life has his dad cried in front of him. He felt his heart break, why was he crying, what can the reason be? “Tae, uncle Jun is dying, he has cancer and the doctor said he only has 2 monts to live if not less. He said he wants to see his son get married, that's his last wish, but he knows his son and how he is. But we know you and we know you both will be perfect, we know if Yoongi is bad, you will be a sunsin in his life and make sure that he becomes good. We know you son, you are an angel and everyone needs you in their life, you have the power to make everything better. I know you will make everything better. Please consider it, please help us make your uncle Jun’s last wish come true. Please Tae.”
He couldn't breathe, his uncle was dying, he felt a pain in his heart, how can he die? He is so young. Tae hates cancer, how can he only have 2 months to live. If he is feeling this pain then he can’t even imagine Yoongi’s pain. Marriage for Tae is a one time thing, it is a commitment for life,he decided that if he ever gets married it will be for life, because love and marriage is everything for Tae, and because of that, because of love he will get married, not romantic love, but the love he has for his parents and the love he has for his uncle who is dying, for love he will get married, for love he will do everything.
“Yes, mum, dad…. Yes I will get married to Yoongi, I will make sure uncle Jun’s last wish comes true”.
