Chapter Text
The sky was dark. The sky was roaring and the rain was harsh against the college dorm room window. George was sitting on a bean bag in front of the window. A cup of hot tea and a blanket wrapped around him. Somehow the storm was not scary to George. He thought it was quite calming.
He should have known better.
The dorm room door opened and a man walked in. George turned his head to look at the man in front of the door, taking his jacket and shoes off. He smiled when his eyes were met with green and loving eyes.
"Hey, babe. What are you doing? Did you get out of class early?" The man spoke while walking towards George and wrapping his arms around his waist. Hugging him from the back and nuzzling his head to the crock of George's neck.
"I'm just watching the storm, Clay ." George hummed and leaned back to Clay's chest and closed his eyes.
"And yes, my classes got canceled so I didn't have any. I do have one essay to do but nothing much. How was class?" Clay let go of George and walked towards his closet to change his clothes.
"It wasn't too bad. The teacher was being kind of an ass at the beginning though. Ugh! I can't wait until we graduate!" Clay groaned.
George laughed fondly at the blonde's misery. They have been friends from the start of middle school until high school when Clay asked George to be his boyfriend. He accepted and they started to date after. They were now Juniors in college.
George watched Clay struggle to put a hoodie on. He had his tongue peeking from his lips in deep concentration. ''God I love this idiot'' George thought and smiled.
But You didn't love me the same.
"Oh! Yeah George, look what I got in the mail today!" George turned his head to Clay and saw he was holding up a letter with a wax seal on it and in front of it was Clay's name.
"What is it?" George questioned. Clay's smile widened and handed the letter to George, fiddling with his fingers afterward.
"So...I-um...I was thinking about us and-I-uhh...I-I saw a program who are looking for people to v-volunteer for them and I-I applied." Clay said and looked at the ground.
George noticed how nervous Clay looked. He hasn't seen the blonde boy this nervous since he confessed his feelings to the brunette.
It was a red flag. And I knew it.
"Oh? Um...Wha-What is the company's name? And what are they asking volunteers for?" George looked at the letter in thought.
I should have ripped that letter.
"It-It's not important, but, babe-" Clay grabbed both of George's hands and looked him in the eye. Caseous brown eyes were met with nervous green ones.
"This can help us both. I-....no-We won't need to worry about money ever again. We can live the life that we both want."
Was money the thing that pulled us apart?
" I-I know that we have talked about our future together and what we want but-George you have to understand that I love you right? So please, please trust me that It'll be alright. okay?"
"Wh-what do you mean? I know I love you, but what are you talking about?" George's voice became quieter at the end looking for an explanation from the taller.
"It's okay, sweetheart. Don't worry your little head about it" Clay kissed George's forehead and reached for the letter.
"I'll make it alright, just give me the letter, hon"
Something deep in George told him to not hand over the letter. Something so primal that even his instincts quivered.
I should have given him the letter.
George stepped back from Clay's reach and ripped open the letter. Clay watched, his head lowered in shame.
Dear, Clay Isaac Miller,
We have seen your application to the "ASU" program and we would love to have you as a volunteer! Your physical health, as well as your mental, are just what we're looking for in this program! There are of course a few things before you can actually get started on participating in the program, but we'll talk about them in the ASU quarters.
A few things you should know about the program are that the program will start the second you sign and agree to the terms of the contract and that the program will last for five years. In that time period, you're allowed to have only one personal contact. Meaning you'll only be allowed to talk to the facility people and the one person who you chose as a so-called "The eye to the outside world"
In exchange for your volunteering will be offering you a handsome amount of money. The details of the payment will be discussed in the headquarters of the ASU.
If you decide to reject the offer now, that is completely fine. If you decide to agree I will see you in the lobby of the Alpha Special Unit building in New York.
Sincerely,
Adam Greywill , The manager assistant of Alpha special unit.
"The-The Alpha Special Unit? Are-Are you fucking serious Clay? The Alpha special fucking unit!"
George saw how Clay's head lowered even more towards the ground. Like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole.
The Alpha Special Unit is one of the biggest companies in the world right now. The company trains Alphas to become leaders, businessmen, lawyers, CIA and FBI agents, and many more high role people. The thing about the company is that there are so many rumors about the company. Many people say that the way they "train" people is manipulation, torture, instinct control, and many more cruel ways. The most disgusting thing about the company is that it is omega negative. The company thinks that omegas are just pup bearers and housewives. They try to get people to get rid of omega laws and rights.
It's disgusting.
and Clay knows this.
"I-I know you don't really like the company, George. and- and I know that their way of doing things is fucked but-but, George." Clay lifts his gaze from the ground and looks at George.
"Think about it. We wouldn't have to worry about money. Ever. I could pay for both of our studies, and I could make our traveling dream come true! Heck, we could even make the bookstore you've always dreamt of true! George, please"
I should have agreed with you.
"Worry?! You're saying not to worry when you have literally applied as a volunteer for a company that hates my kind, and you're asking me to not worry!?"
"No! That's not it, George! You know I hate the company as well, but just-think about it! We could live the life we could ever want!"
"No, Clay! do you realize that not only are you going to volunteer in that disgusting company but you would be away from everyone for five years! Five fucking years, Clay! What am I gonna do in those five years! I can't follow you to New York for fucks sake!"
How did we get here? Where did I go wrong?
The yelling continued for ages. The screams getting louder and louder. One room, two lovers, one reaching for the stars the other trying to keep them grounded. One of them pleading the stronger to not go, and the other wanting to go for the other. They cried, yelled and screamed. Both of them wanted the best for the other. The glass they were standing on was cracking, and fast.
Until...
It couldn't hold anymore.
The glass broke.
"What do you know about anything! Huh? You're just repeating the same things over and over again! You're so fucking useless! All you do is flash your smile and wait for everything to be done for you! You know nothing! You're just a fucking omega! Your job is to bear my fucking pups and keep the house clean! What do you know about keeping a house together!" Clay yelled and bared his fangs towards George.
George was quivering. His instincts yelling at him to submit to the Alpha in front of him. To apologize and make up this argument. But he didn't.
I should have submitted to him.
"If you can't support my decisions, I want nothing to do with you. You should be my boyfriend and support me-"
"C-clay-"
"But you're just thinking about yourself. If you actually cared-"
"Clay, please! I do care-"
"No! You don't! If you cared you would have supported me and helped me but you didn't."
Clay walked towards his closet and pulled out a big backpack and started to shove his clothes inside.
"C-Clay, please listen to me-"
"Shut up! I said, Shut up!"
George felt an intense pain going down his body from his jaw. He sank to his knees and sobbed. Clay used his Alpha voice. Clay used his Alpha voice on George.
Clay continued to put his stuff into the backpack. Once he was done he turned towards his desk and slammed the dorm room key on it. Then he walked towards the door and put his shoes on.
"Don't ever call or text me again. We're done." He stepped out and slammed the door closed.
Come back!
George continued to sob on the floor, clutching his jaw in pain. He cried and cried and cried. In his mind, he was yelling for Clay to come back. For him to come back to him so he could make it right. George curled himself into a ball and cried himself for sleep.
He waited.
I waited
He waited for Clay to come back the next day. He didn't come back. Not the next day nor the next week. George tried to call Clay's parents and friends to ask where he is but no one told him anything. They just ignored him. George felt so alone. He was so, so, so alone!
Little did he know that he wasn't alone. And that two small pups were with him from the get-go. Safe and comfortably sleeping in his tummy.
