"Red Hood..." a voice called to him but he was unsure as to what they were saying after he heard his name.
He wasn't used to feeling this groggy. It was as if someone had shoved him in a washer and had spun him around for hours. He could barely sense his surroundings. All he knew was that he was sitting on a chair with something binding his arms.
"Red Hood, this is quite important business so if you could please open your eyes and address us..." the voice was lost to his ears after the first bit. He couldn't make it out but there was a staggering amount of pain in his sides. Broken ribs. He wiggled around slightly to try to sense what was going on but found that the ropes wouldn't budge but instead only seemed to tighten more. That wasn't good.
He slowly opened his eyes to see and was greeted by a multitude of costumed heroes. The Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, Black Canary and both the green ones stood in front of him.
He groaned.
No way in hell did he desire to deal with the Justice League. Bruce had specifically told all of them to avoid trouble and help each other out. Which meant that... Oh no.
His annoyingly overprotective siblings would try to rescue him. Oh fuck no. He couldn't deal with the entire league finding out his dad's secrets. Bruce had only just told some of them his identity.
"Red Hood?" a stern voice pierced into his brain. Black Canary, he mused. Her statement did hold a question but that didn't remove the magnitude of her pitch.
"Yeah, yeah. I heard ya lady." Oh fuck. He should've hid his Gotham drawl but the league members probably already knew if they had fished him out from one of his undercover missions.
"This criminal refuses to speak to a singular person and one he does, he is uncouth. Should we really bother questioning him? I mean even Batman said that Gothan rogues don't really answer questions and that he just prefers to shove them back into Arkam" Hal interjected but the last word had struck Jason.
Arkam Asylum? Yeah he didn't want to go there. Not anywhere near there and if Bruce had anything to say then he wouldn't be going. But Bruce wasn't here and he wouldn't be back until... until...wait. How long had Jason been out for? His helmet was half smashed and sharp jagged edges dug into the skin on his forehead, his arms felt sore enough to have been tied back for a while but how long was a 'while'? A day? Two?
"Red Hood?" Clark's voice called. "You've been zoned out for a while. Get these questions answered and then you may go to Arkam."
That did it. He wasn't going to Arkam. He was going home. Time to pull out the card that Bruce had forbidden him from using but when had he listened to Bruce anyways?
"Shut it Kent. You won't send me anywhere near Arkam if I have a say in it" he replied with a gruff laugh.
"Excuse me?" Superman said. Clearly this criminal knew his name. Clearly this criminal was smarter than they had thought.
"You're name, bastard. It's Clark Kent. That's Diana Prince, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Dinah Lance and oh hey Oliver Queen."
"How does he-" Green Lantern interjected but was quickly cut off by a sharp inhale from none other than Wonder Woman herself.
Laughing out, Jason decided to continue, enjoying the lost expressions on their faces.
"Yeah. I know you. Unlike you, I did my research. Which is why you won't send me to Arkam or anywhere near it."
Dinah had caught onto something. Jason didn't like the expression in her eyes. He knew Dinah Lance was somewhat of the therapist of the team but he didn't want her people reading skills to be used on him.
"You won't go to Arkam, but Black Gate is fine?"
"Nah it isn't. Batman will break me out. Not necessarily by force but you know, he'll convince them to let me go."
"Really now? What makes you say that Mr Spooky will have a soft spot for someone like you?" Barry Allen asks while walking closer to where Jason was sitting. "He gets here in about hmmm, five minutes. Let's see then, shall we?"
Batman gets here in five minutes? That wasn't right. Bruce was supposed to come back on Friday, today was Wednesday. Wait. That meant he had been unconscious for... Holy fuck. His siblings would be going insane.
They would kill the league. Willingly. Jason didn't want them endangered because he couldn't accomplish a simple spying mission in Star City without getting kidnapped.
"Let me go", Jason demanded. "Please, you'll actually regret it if you don't."
"And why do you say that Hood?" Superman asked. "This is one of the most secure fortresses in the world-"
"It's in space." Jason cut, trying desperately to wiggle himself free.
"Listen here, Red Hood, I do not care from where you hail but trespassing upon my city and walking freely through my streets will not go unpunished," Wonder Woman said as she uprooted him, whipping out a dagger from her side.
"Bad idea Diana, the others would've arrived by now, don't push them to act out of rashness."
"Is he really first naming us in costume? Listen here villain, if you-" Hal said as he had placed a hand upon Jason's helmet but he never got to finish his sentence.
《Ôte tes mains, sale homme habillé en vert,》a cry cut in as a katana nearly decapited Green Lantern.
"Oh Scheiße," came out of Jason's mouth before multiple figures clad in black suits with various different colour highlights stood in front of him.
Anger radiated off their backs and Jason could feel it. He did not want to see their faces. Their anger would scare him. Soft fingers tapped at his arm as he looked up to see Barbara and Stephanie undoing the ropes that bound his arms and legs to the chair. Turns out there was a reason why Jason was unable to undo them. They were made of a metal alloy and wound together tightly.
"Nightwing?" Superman's voice called out. "What are you doing here?"
"See Supes, Red Rood is a Gotham criminal. Which means that it is best if he is left to is." Red Robin interupts and Jason is so happy to see him.
"He was in Star City-"
"Yes yes, Ollie we know." Harper says as Cullen stands behind her with a battle axe in his hands and a domino mask over his face. How had Dick convinced them to come to the Watchtower? But now that Jason looked around, he could see a multitude of his siblings that he wouldn't see on a regular basis. Of course Damian, Steph, Dick, Tim, Cass, Barbara and Duke were there but they had somehow managed to convince Terry and Jarro to drop by from whatever reality they were in, they had convinced Luke to suit up and had convinced Helena to join them as well. It made Jason really happy to see them he doubted Bruce would like to see them all in the Watchtower while they threatened the Justice League.
"Excuse me, do they all just know our identities?" Dinah asked as she placed a hand over her husband's shoulder.
"Yes," was all Cass said as she pulled Jason up to his feet and slung his arm over her shoulder.
"Ow!" Jason yelled. Why had that hurt?
"Ah merde," Tim whispered as he looked over to Jason's side and ran an arm over his ribs. "Zijn ribben zijn gebroken," he said to Dick.
Dick somehow radiated even more fury now as he looked back over to the league.
"Would someone please inform me as to why Red Hood's sides are broken?" he asked as a gust of cold swept threw the room that they were all in.
Before anyone could answer a ringing of the zeta tube interrupted them.
"Batman 03," the voice announced.
Everyone turned to look at him stunned as Jason finally let go and tried to hobble over to his dad. Cass and Cullen supported him until he was standing in front of his dad.
"Oh hey Dad..." he whispered in mock irony as he crumbled over. His dad caught him.
"Dad?" Flash asked with surprise lacing his voice.
"Yeah. Our dad." Terry said, glaring at him.
"You'll have to contend with him now and belive me he isn't happy" Tim spat as Steph passed an arm over his shoulder.
"Fools injured one of Father's children," Damian said as he and the rest of his siblings walked over to Bruce who was now hugging a tired and injured Jason.
"Did the young one just call us 'fools'" Oliver asked Dinah who just shook her head and tried to get closer to the Batfamily. A kick from Barbara nearly decapitated her and she decided to stay where she was.
"Batman," Wonder Woman said. "Who are these children?"
"They're my kids," Bruce dismissed.
"Hey Bats, the Red Hood is your son?" Hal interjected.
"Yes these are my children," Bruce said. He then proceeded to point each of them out while saying their names. "Nightwing. Red Hood. Red Robin. Robin. Batwing. Signal. Batman. Jarro. Batgirl. Huntress. Bluebird. Spoiler. Black Bat and..." his eyes fell upon Cullen. Still in jeans and a hoodie that was most definitely stolen from Dick and a crooked domino. Cullen mindlessly shrugged. "And one who does not have a hero name yet still decided to murder you."
"They are children Spooky," Oliver said. "They wouldn't manage. We don't fear kids."
"You should," Jarro whispered as they all turned to loom at the talking starfish perched upon Nightwing's shoulder.
"Yes indeed you should. But you should fear me at the moment because I would like to know who broke my son's ribs and why he was held captive."
"They menaced to send me to Arkam," Jason whispered, his face still buried in his father's shoulder.
"Ellos hicieron que?" Dick yelled as he pulled Jason off Bruce's side and wrapped him in a tight hug. "Batman. We're taking him home. I'll tell Agent A to prepare supper. Be home in a while."
With that, all the Batkids left. Leaving their father to contend with the the members of the Justice League that were responsible for his son's injuries.
