"On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree!" blasted out of the mall's speakers as Eddie walked past the stores, trying to figure out what the heck he was supposed to get Dan and Anne for Christmas this year.
"Eddie?" V asked.
"Hmm?" he mumbled, trying to figure out if it'd be weird to get Anne earrings and wanting to figure out a more creative gift for Dan than a tie.
"Why would anyone want four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree? Do they taste good? Why that specific number? And why does the partridge have to be in a pear tree?"
"Huh? Oh, it's just an old Christmas song, V." Eddie told him. A passing lady glanced to him and he pointed to his bluetooth headset, the key to him talking with V in public without sounding crazy(mostly.)
"Since I'm your true love, does that mean I should get you those too? Oh, and the five golden rings?"
Eddie shook his head violently. "No, babe. I don't want an apartment full of birds. And you're my true love no matter what. And you know I'll love anything you get me. Heck, you don't need to get me anything. Just having you there for Christmas is enough."
"Yes, I know, you're extremely sappy." Venom teased, but Eddie could feel his happiness. Then the happiness turned back to curiosity and confusion once again. "Why would anyone want eight maids a 'milking?"
Eddie sighed fondly, letting his lover's questions wash over him. Though he knew that once he finally found Anne and Dan's gifts that he was going to be spending some time on Google.
Because now he was curious too.
