Chapter Text
It was afternoon at that time, the sun was going down and the moon would rise up soon. Odasaku was lying on the floor, blood going through his clothes. Dazai appeared right after a gunshot was heard and he rushed to this fatherly figure of his. The once dusty floor is now stained with blood. Dazai held Odasaku in his arms.
“There is something I.. want to tell you–” Odasaku said.
“No, not yet... you might still make it— you can tell me about it later. You're going to survive this, so don't talk like–”
“Listen to me. You told me you might find reason to live for, if you live in a world full of destruction” Odasaku held Dazai’s face.
“Yeah I did, but who cares about that–”
“Listen to me— you won't find it. Deep down, you absolutely realize that.. w-whether you're on the devastating side or the good side you won't find what you're seeking. Nothing exceeds what you expect will appear. Nothing in this world will fill up the empty inside of you, you’ll be lost in the darkness forever.” At this point Odasaku had trouble speaking and Dazai was too stunned to speak.
“Odasaku..what do you want me to do?”
“Be,.on the side.. that s-saves people. I know the concept of good and bad-d doesnt mean m-much to–you, but at least, make your w-world a little more beautiful” Odasaku said with a slight smile on his face, he knew exactly how his fate would end up and closed his eyes.
“I know because.. y-you're my friend.” Odasaku continued, his last words before death. His hand let go of Dazai's face causing Dazai’s bandages to unbind.

It's been 3 days and 2 nights, Dazai hasn't left his room at all.
“Tch, that shitty bastard. We have an important mission in 2 days and he hasn't even discussed it with me yet.”
Chuuya was having tea with Kouou & Q, or rather wine.
“Calm down now dear, recently his close friend has passed away. I suppose you know how it feels like to lose someone dear to you” Koyou answer, pouring tea for herself and Q
“Yes I understand nee-san, but I'm starting to think it's more than that, everytime I or any of his subordinates pass his room, there's always this loud noise. Something that sounds similar to very fast scribbling- and I always get this feeling as if he wants to commit suicide or leave me behind and run away. eugh just thinking about it gives me a headache” Chuuya complained to Koyou.
“My my, 'me' ? Is Chuuya worried about Dazai?” Koyou answered and laughed a little.
“Obviously NOT! I'm more worried about our mission in 2 days, we need to take a plane and steal a bunch of ores from a black market dealer. Boss told me to wait for Dazai’s plan which he haven't discussed with me and I bet he hasn't thought of either.” Chuuya complained, again. He sipped a glass of wine and continued complaining about Dazai. The only thing Kouyou and Q could do was listen and nod.
While Chuuya was complaining, Dazai suddenly opened the door to his room and ran to Chuuya, he grabbed Chuuya’s wrist and dragged him all the way back to his room then shut the door to his room. Koyou couldn't care less about what's going on, she instead poured another cup of tea for herself and started a conversation with Q.
“What the fuck?! Why did you drag me here so suddenly? Weren't you depressed and stressed just a minute ago?” Chuuya asked aggresively, wine bottle still in hands. Dazai didn't bother to answer and opened a map. It was a map of the building they were supposed to steal from in 2 days. “The plan is simple, I’ll go to the security room to turn off the camera’s and take down the security guard. After I do that, I’ll give you a signal and you will start heading from the back entrance and take this route. It's a lot safer that way—” Dazai got interrupted by a complaining Chuuya “Bold of you to assume I'm not strong enough to protect myself.”
“Do you always have to complain-? What a lame short ass you are, what I meant by ‘safe’ was so that you can go to the designated place without causing a huge ruckus. The routes I picked out are routes that have less patrolling than the others,” Dazai explained in a hurry. “Once you have taken the specific items, give me a signal then go to the abandoned factory nearby, we’ll meet up there.” Dazai continued, “This is a bit suspicious to me.. The Dazai I know will never help me out, and always cause a ruckus instead of staying low. Is there something else I should know here?” Chuuya said. There was a long pause. Dazai sighed then spoke up first “No, i'm not doing this for your sake, i'm doing this so there won't be any problem with the mafia. Hope your tiny brain could understand that” Dazai sighs, again.
“Alright then..also one more thing, why did you suddenly just grab me and drag me all the way to your room? That’s also very unusual of you. Besides, I thought you were still, well.. you know, mourning over.. uh, yeah.”
“That is none of your business.. And I dragged you here because Mori-san rushed me to discuss the plan with you. If I hadn't just dragged you, you would have taken 3 hours to even get to my room.” Before Chuuya could speak up Dazai continued.
“And.. one more thing, I– have a question for you,” there was a pause before Dazai continued again “Aren't you tired of living like this? Doing things that people would consider a crime, living in the dark and–”
“hAh? What sort of question is that? I'm doing this because I'm returning Boss the favor of picking me up and getting me out of The Sheep, giving me a.. community to spend time with. Besides, why do you even care?” Chuuya interrupted. “Correction, I did all of that,” Dazai said, completely ignoring Chuuya’s question. “Why does it even matter?” Chuuya said as he left Dazai’s room, ending the conversation.

In just 2 blinks of an eye, 2 days have also gone by.
And just like that, Mori and Koyou is briefing both Dazai and Chuuya on their mission,
“Alright boys, I'm sure you know how important this mission is. The ores you will be taking are ores that manufacture our weapons, I'm sure you two have made plans on how you will be breaking in and out of the building without getting into any problem. In 15 minutes you will be taking a plane to Kyoto, you will then arrive at the city at 14:30 pm. You have 3 days to complete your mission, you are free to start anytime soon but you must have the ores by Monday, 16:00 pm, if you don't complete the mission by then, I trust you know exactly what the consequences are. We have given you your requested necessities, and good luck on your mission!’’
And so, it begins.
