Summary
Despite knowing how wrong it all was, the longer Hermione was a part of the team in charge of caring for Gilderoy Lockhart, the more she knew she had fallen completely in love with him. All of her basic Healer trainings about remaining distant and impersonal were pushed aside when her old professor looked up at her with one of his bright smiles. Thanks to the backfired memory charm he tried to cast on her best friends with Ron’s stolen and malfunctioning wand, most days Gilderoy had the innocence of a child. He was happy and friendly, always in a wonderful mood. Some days, however, much rarer than the innocent days, he seemed almost lucid and aware of who he really was.
She lived for those days.
