Sunoo has been planning to go to the grocery since last week, yet his schedule forbids him due to his never-ending tasks. Fortunately, his hell week ended earlier than he expected as he submitted all of his tasks ahead of time, and now, he’s savoring the joy of being free from schoolworks.
“Lucky you, you’re now out of hell,” says Jungwon who huffed frustratedly, hearing Riki in the background cooing the former as Sunoo laughs in reply.
“Don’t worry! As soon as you two are done, we’ll have a slumber party at my place! Are you in?”
The two immediately agree before bidding a farewell as they need to continue working on their unfinished requirements. Being in their final year actually sucks as they thought that it would be easy, as their seniors said, but to no avail, it was just all a lie. A big fat lie. I will come back to you, Yeonjun hyung.
After listing his grocery items, he goes back to his mini pantry to check his stock, eyeing if he misses out on some things as his next grocery shopping will be after a month. Sunoo checks the time, he still has a lot of it as it was only around two in the afternoon, and he feels lazy to go out by himself. Being an extrovert is really tiring when you’re alone. He just wants company, yet his closest friends are still busy. …or maybe not? He immediately puts on his tote bag and a jacket before going out of his condo, proceeding to his favorite neighbor, Jongseong.
Hesitantly, he knocks on the door before hearing Jongseong’s soft voice. Oh God, I love hearing this一is my favorite baby, Leeseo, here?! Sunoo giggles excitedly at the thought. He always loves seeing Leeseo, Jongseong’s four-year-old niece, around. It activates Sunoo’s maternal instincts, as Jongseong mentions, in which Sunoo himself agrees because it’s a hundred percent true. After a minute or two, Jongseong opens the door with disheveled hair and a giggling Leeseo on his back, almost strangling him to death.
“Sun oppa!” Leeseo welcomes Sunoo by pulling him inside after hopping down from Jongseong, as the latter closes the door.
“What brings you here, Sun?” Jongseong asks as Leeseo hugs her favorite uncle’s favorite friend while they walk. Sunoo messes with Leeseo’s hair before looking at Jongseong, smiling warmly at them.
“I actually want to invite you for a grocery day since I need to do one, and I guess, the more the merrier?”
Sunoo looks at Jongseong for approval of his invitation, yet Leeseo immediately screams “Gummies!” making Jongseong nod at his request.
“Of course, so that you can take care of her instead,” he jokes. Leeseo gives him an eye roll in response and tackles Sunoo for another hug.
Aha! Jongseong always saves the day. He smiles while watching the two prepare themselves for a spontaneous day out, thanks to Sunoo.
“Let’s go?” Jongseong asks after carrying Leeseo as the latter slings her arm around his uncle’s neck.
“Let’s go!” Sunoo chants as he marches away from the unit.

Sunoo silently groans at his friends’ reply before laughing lightly as Jongseong gives him a look, he shakes his head as they make their way down to the grocery a few blocks away from their condo building. They walk around while talking about school stuff while Leeseo interrupts by asking Jongseong about capital cities of different countries, which Sunoo finds amusing, seeing how brilliant this kid is, like her uncle who is astonishingly smart and handsome一 they arrived in no time.
Sunoo pulls a big cart then Jay places Leeseo on the seat, securing her with the belt. “Let’s go!” The little girl cues, making the two laugh at his cuteness as they go inside the store.
Sunoo always plans his grocery day by listing down all of his needs (and wants) as he cannot miss out on a single thing, because it’s tiring to go out to a convenience store downstairs. That’s one thing he learned from his mom. And obviously, he has to do it, knowing that his mom is busy and he is too old to be bought things for. It’s way better for him to be always ready than to go out whenever he’s out of some items.
And as for Jongseong, who has been Sunoo’s grocery buddy most of the time, he knows that laundry items and toiletries need to go first, so he proceeds to the left shelves as Sunoo follows behind him, rechecking his list. Jongseong gives his phone to Leeseo, letting her watch an episode of Sofia the First while helping Sunoo select a new brand of shampoo as his old one is not up to the latter’s liking.
“This one smells better, and it suits you,” Jongseong says after closing the lid of the strawberry-scented shampoo, handing it to him. Sunoo nods twice before placing it in the cart and returning the lemon-scented one. They complete the first half of the list in a bit while Sunoo ticks off the retrieved items as they move to the food section.
Sunoo helps Jongseong to push the cart while playing at an almost sleepy Leeseo who’s trying hard to make herself awake as she craves for her gummies.
“Samcheon… Gummies…” she pleads while pouting a little, making Jongseong ruffle her hair while nodding, “We’ll get it, okay?”
Sunoo crinkles his nose, lightly pinching Leeseo’s cheek, “Sun oppa and Jong samcheon will treat you to some gummies! Good girl!” He assures the younger, which she nods, giggling softly before watching again.
As Sunoo and Jongseong turn into the noodles section, a woman notices Sunoo before actually calling him. “Sunoo! Dear!”
Both of them turn their head at the woman’s voice, making Jongseong squint his eyes while Sunoo gasps at the familiar figure. “Mijoo imo一hi!” The woman immediately runs towards Sunoo, pulls him into a hug before excitedly speaking, “I missed you!”
Sunoo hugs in return, leaving Jongseong quite puzzled at the scene before he nods and curtly smiles at Mijoo, to which the latter replies with a wide grin and a wave. They pull away from the hug as Sunoo introduces the two to each other.
“Jongseong, this is Mijoo imo, my mother’s sister. And Mijoo imo, meet Jongseong.”
Jongseong politely greets her with a handshake which Mijoo returns before giving Sunoo a playful look as she finally notices a young girl. “Oh, hi there, baby!” She greets Leeseo, smiling at her lovingly, making the older one melt in amusement at the cuteness of the child.
“It’s been years!” She starts, fondly looking at Sunoo while patting his back. “The last time I saw you was when you were little and I only saw your pictures through your mom’s updates,” she mentions.
Sunoo nods in return, “Yeah, mom has mentioned to me that you recently moved nearby? Is that true, imo?”
Mijoo excitedly nods, giggling at the thought. “Yes! Finally, I have convinced my fiance to move here to the city and he finally agreed! Oh my, I’ll let you meet him next time! We need to catch up more!”
Being aware of the time, Mijoo finally checks her phone and gets surprised at the time. “Oh, I might be ruining your family date with your husband and child!” She giggles before moving closer to Sunoo for a whisper. “He looks hot, you two are definitely a match!”
Sunoo widens his eyes, looking at his aunt with great confusion, not finding the words to say in reply. Mijoo bids goodbye to Jongseong and Sunoo as she walks away from the two while waving.
“See you around, Sunoo-ya! Also, the baby looks so much like you! Bye!” Sunoo’s cheeks are definitely getting red. Redder than a tomato, if you describe it. And Jongseong, not being blind, can see it very well.
Jongseong clears his throat, making Sunoo catch his attention.
“Ah!” he exclaims, “Sorry for my aunt… She’s very chatty and all, I hope you understand.” He rubs his nape before getting the cart from Jongseong’s hands, pushing the cart and Leeseo to the next shelf. Jongseong is speechless, but he finds it cute. “No wonder they’re family,” he whispers while shaking his head, following Sunoo along.
After some minutes, Sunoo finally completes his grocery list with some additional items that he saw, or Leeseo requested, or Jongseong might have added that completely slipped Sunoo’s mind. They proceed to the cashier to pay for the items.
Leeseo is finally happy now that she has her gummies, sponsored by her most favorite Sun oppa. Sunoo pays for the items as Jongseong puts the items inside the bags. While waiting for some freebie item said by the cashier (in which he’ll get for free, obviously) as his total reaches this certain amount to avail it, he fishes out his phone.

Sunoo shakes his head at his friends’ commotion in their group chat as the cashier finally arrives and hands them a couple mug. A couple mug, really? He shyly nods as a form of gratitude for the free gift, before Jongseong receives it and places it with the items. Sunoo hoists Leeseo up from the cart, while Jongseong carries the bag of items.
They walk past the cashier and Sunoo turns to Jongseong as they exit the store. “Let’s go?” Sunoo asks. Jongseong nods and smiles widely at him.
“Alright, husband,” he replies, leaving Sunoo speechless this time.
