His name means Palace, though he is born into squalor. It gets worse from there. Madmen, like orchids, only grow in very specific conditions. These are the missing pieces of Kefka Palazzo's youth and development, and perhaps the missing pieces of Kefka himself.
Authors note:
I don't condone the actual pairing of Kefka with Terra, but I do believe that given their mutual circumstances, some kind of relationship between the two is inevitable. They are both young, orphaned, confused, and being trained as weapons. They are both a reflection of how powerless having absolute power can render a person. There aren't very many kids being raised by the empire, so naturally the two will have nowhere else to seek comfort. I believe there was a time when he may have considered loving her, but we all know how their story ends.The focus of this piece isn't on the romantic implications of their relationship but it will definitely be a factor. There's my disclaimer and my warning. I don't sail their ship (trust me I'd rather have him for myself), but it's leaving the harbor with or without my permission.
