“You all make valid points,” Midoriya chirps cheerfully, snatching his coffee and sipping at the sweet drink with a hum. “Yeah, I’ll be the first to admit that I could make a pretty penny selling the information presented at this table, but with that said, I can also admit that I’m not squeaky clean with the law. That’s my business, and certainly not yours. Heroes or otherwise.”
Sucking up the last bit of his sugar-invested excuse for coffee until it gurgles obnoxiously, Midoriya releases the partially chewed straw to smack his lips.
“I admire All Might, and I have since I was just a kid dreaming about being a hero,” Midoriya continues after a moment of elongated, weighted silence. The plastic smile on his face shifts into something sad. “Unfortunately, that wasn’t in the cards for me, and I’m not proud of the cards I’ve been dealt with no effort to flush it out. So, you want the catch? Fine. The catch is that for once I get to play hero; to do the right thing. Not only for All Might, but for Heroes like you that I truly believe make this world a better place.”
