She unlocks the Tomb, cracks its secrets open, and expects to die when she gazes into The Body that hides in it, a swift end to the crime that she is.
Harrowhark does not die. She stares at the body, the girl that is God's end, and it does not kill her. Ice tastes bitter on her tongue. The Body, her perpetual companion now, always at the edge of her vision, has the decency to not laugh at her failure at dying.
As her parents swing from the rafters, it is The Body's touch that stops her tears from falling.
